    My son is playing his 2nd season at center. He moved up to 10u this season and his coaches want to utilize the shotgun snap. He is doing pretty well, mostly, but his shotgun snaps go high 1/5 snaps. His posture is exactly like you demonstrated. He grabs the ball and then gets in position. His butt is getting too high. His knees are over his toes, etc…We will be working on the things you showed to correct these bad habits.
    I never played center so I needed some pointers to help him. Thanks a bunch for posting this video.

    Thank you coach I just started center for my freshman team this year and I've never played center before and you've really helped me with my snaps but can you do a video over two handed snaps because my center coach has us do two handed

      My son snaps with two hands....One, his hands are small and doesnt get a good gripe on the ball, Two, his thumb gets torn up from the laces and refuses to wear a glove. We use the finger tip method..

    Thanks for the center position videos, Do you have any tips for center when they have aggressive nose tackle / LB coming hard at snap other then just more experience?

    • @chrishann7171
      @chrishann7171  Год назад +1

      Yeah get the non-snap hand first, give a little ground, get help from guard, coach needs to be changing the snap count too

    Great video..... question ... do have any drills that work with keeping the wrist from turning.... my son is on 9u and having trouble with wild snaps .....

    • @chrishann7171
      @chrishann7171  Год назад

      What I’ve found works best is the scoot drill (first video) to get them thinking about snapping with whole body not the wrist . As they get bigger and stronger you can’t even notice hip movement when they snap

    What about snapping it in the ground everytime? My son is center on our 7u team, he's like rolling it to the QB everytime. He's only 7, I get that but how can he get that snap up?

      He is probably releasing to early and maybe try working on his stance

      Hey there ! I did not include that in the video but it could be that he is raking the ball on the ground bc he’s got the ball too far forward. Try moving the ball under his eyeballs in his stance.

    What about if it’s too low?

    • @chrishann7171
      @chrishann7171  3 месяца назад

      Hey there if just consistently low, and not rolling back , he could be just flipping the ball back instead of snapping. Make sure his arm is straight with elbow pocket forward and snapping harder and faster - please see my other video
