Just wanted to say this is the best (and only) review on the ML (W166) on RUclips I could find over the past few days. Devlin (the guy in the video) pinpointed and explained important things to check for when considering to buy an ML. Many thanks!
Just picked up a little gem of a 2015 ML350 with 87k miles on the clock. My goal is to get it to 200k. Going to baby this great SUV. Thank you for the walk through! Now to find that transmission dipstick!
I'm looking at one same year but 92,000. Pictures of interior/exterior look good. It's a 4x2 so lower issues. The dealer wants about $15,000. I'm still debating.
Excellent review! I think the most reliable one would be the gas 6 cyl without the air suspension, and rear-wheel drive. Unfortunately I think the 2014-15 has the silly gear shift selector. My understanding is this is the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was subject to a major recall on the gearshift selector
My ML350 rattles on start up and was leaking coolant, mechanic shop quoted 9k in repairs since they wanted to replace the whole timing chain and replace cracked coolant hoses going to the heater core. I’m glad to say they tried to scam me. My VVT failed and my check valves need to be replaced (I inspected the timing guides and tensioners with a bore scope and they looks good). About to coolant my little coolant pipe that connects both heads cracked. Shop wanted to pull the whole engine to check coolant leak
Any tips and advice in purchasing a 250ml 2015 with 56k miles on the clock? I'm looking into getting it. Please let me know what I should be looking for as an extra of what you mentioned in the video. Thanks
@@santino2681 That is a lot of miles it seems for a 2015 in Germany as small as your country is. I think Carvana under prices cars here. Would you really need a ML in Germany as large as it is? When I was there in August (Bavaria) I rented as small a car as possible because of the roads and parking issues. Love Germany.

Actually it's reliable car if you maintain it as should be with high quality oils.
Fantastic and super helpful!
Great video🙌🏽. I just think you forgot to mention the most important part - getting a pre-purchase inspection😝.
The steel springs regular ml350 v6 2012-14 are great.Go lower and go higher you got got Mercedes Benz high maintenance cost.
Nice work....thanks!

I own the old but gold w163 about to go for w166 i see they still use the old parktronic on the dashboard which is amazing
Are the first few years of the GLE basically the same car? Should they be considered to be less likely to have the problems listed here?
I think they are same. Just small facelift with headlights and tails, also multimedia screen.
That little plate on the front was stolen from my ML along with the mercedes logo on the grill. So how do I prove my car was not towed?
There's a transmission dip stick on the W166? I have a W164 and I don't have one.
He pulled the engine oil dipstick 😂. This car has no transmission dipstick.
No they don't, he messed up there
Why always ml350. I need ml400 reviews!
Great review though

Timing chain guides rattle. Cylinder cooking on 6. Did they fix the oil cooler leak on Bluetec diesel?
Hi! I’m in the process of buying one that has malfunction 5 and 6 parktronic sensor, do you know which one are them?
Why does this ML have air suspension when no others ones do?
how much is this car for purchase
Sounds like the 2013 ML350 we have without air suspension or ultrasonic sensors should avoid most of these problems.
I have a 2012 that I love and don't recall a air suspension.
Is it just me or that front bumper is way brighter than other parts
Insane how cheap these cars are these days
I was shocked too 😳 😂
I agree, Carvana values my 83K mile 2012 ML350 at $7400. Mine is in perfect condition....would never sell it.
@@jcheck6 In germany goes with more than that. I searched for a 2015 ML350 and I got a lot with 18,19,20k Euros with around 90k Miles

Why the annoying muted music ?? Pointless !!
“Generalistic” things? Are you trying to say general things?
