Interesting fact, the person that wrote this masterpiece actually wrote it for his mother after she passed away. I don’t know of anyone else who has ever interpreted this song as well as Mr. Jose Jose may he Rest In Peace. I believe he himself said he never sang El triste the same ever again.

You should do an episode with Felipa Giordana who was an italian born opera singer who loved singing mexican songs and moved to mexico and married a Mexican Man . A little side note mexico is the mecca for Spanish speaking singers and if they make in mexico they become famous all over latin america and some world wide. But Felipa would be a good tribute to a beautiful Italian singer who embraced the culture and its heartfelt music.

A questo festival hanno partecipato 25 paesi (20 americani e 5 europei). Claudio Villa, Ada Mori e l'ospite speciale Tony Renis hanno partecipato per conto dell'Italia. Claudio Villa, pur avendo vinto il primo posto nei gironi di qualificazione, è stato retrocesso all'ottavo posto in finale a causa dei conflitti di personalità che ha avuto con i giudici e con gli altri partecipanti.
