Great Video, i appreciate anyone listening and reacting to how deep this song is. 👍 may his name be remembered as the legend that moved the heart at first listen
The man, was incredible. The author of this song, wrote the lyrics, on his way to Mexico City, to burry his mother. The song is NOT about a woman, or a lost love. But the love of one's mother, that will never return. In 1970, at the OTI festival, Jose Jose, won a coin toss up. It was him, and another female singer. He won the toss up. He had only 1 song, in 1969, before this. But this is the song, that blew him up, overnight. He actually won 3rd place, at the prestigious OTI Festival. But because of his incredible performance, he was coined "El gran perdedor" (the greatest loser). He'd become an international superstar. Mexico's highest grossing singer. RIP

Side note: the composer wrote this song in honor of his mother, who past away. He wrote it on a plane when he was going to her funeral. Also, for the majority of the attendees, this was the first time they heard of this skinny, young guy. In fact, Roberto Cantoral, the song writer, wanted to participate with his song on this music festival. Problem was, he didn't have a singer. In a reunion, he was told there were a couple of relatively unknown singers: a women who was starting to be heard on the radio and a kid called Jose Jose. So, Roberto did the most logical thing. He wrote both singers' names on two pieces of paper, grabbed a hat, put these papers inside the hat and whichever came out first was the one who would be singing it. And fate decided Jose Jose was the first name to come out that hat. This video you see was the first time this song was preformed, ever. After this, Jose Jose turned into a famous singer at age 22.

Or Piero or Emmanuel
@@jessedominguez543 . Love, Piero with his great songs, "Viejo mí querido viejo", "Viene bien dormir", "Llegando Llegaste", just to name a few. And Emmanuel, "Al Final", "Todo sé Derrumbó", Enséñame", just to name a few. Also, great singers.
And nobody remembers the winner and runner up of that contest. Only Jose Jose transcended. RIP.
Jose Jose transcends generations!!! My parents loved him, i loved him, even my youngest daughter at 16 loves him!!!
Thank you very much for your appreciation for Jose Jose. I am Mexican, and every time people around the world recognizes his wonderful voice, I feel awesome. Regards from Guadalajara, Mexico.
The author wrote this for his mother after she died.
FOR HIS BROTHER.
nop cisco is right he wrote it while traveling to his mother"s funeral
cisco1425 yeah I think he wrote it on a flight back from somewhere.
It was for his mother who pass away while he was in Eroupe with his wife and when he wrote it and Jose Jose was suggested to sing it Roberto ( author name) had his doubts because Jose Jose was so young well he was in his 20 and Roberto tought he wasn't going to be able to put that magic that a singer once in a while put in it
cisco1425 his brother.
The best Spanish-speaking singer of all time. Q.E.D.P
Camilo Sesto was the best

@@lokideodinpalacios6255 Nino Bravo only like 3 or 4 famous songs, Camilo 53 number one hits

Man I cried just by looking how deep you feel the voice of Jose Jose.
The Sad
How sad it was to say goodbye
When we loved each other more
Until the swallow emigrated
Heralding the end
How sad everything looks without you
The seas of the beaches leave
The colors of gray are dyed
Today everything is loneliness
I don't know if I see you again later
I don't know what my life will be
Without the blue star of your being
That doesn't light me anymore
Today I want to taste my pain
I don't ask for compassion or mercy
The story of this love was written
For eternity
How sad everyone says that I am
I'm always talking about you
They don't know that thinking of your love
In your love, I have been able to help me live
I have been able to help myself to live
Today I want to taste my pain
I don't ask for compassion or mercy
The story of this love was written
For eternity
How sad everyone says that I am
I'm always talking about you
They don't know that thinking of your love
In your love, I have been able to help me live
I have been able to help myself to live
I have been able to help myself to live
Esta es la mejor traducción que he leído, solo cambiaría el "what" en "They don't know what thinking of your love" por "that".

The translation does not do this song justice, it's missing A LOT of depth and the grammatical errors were killing a sista! RIP Jose Jose
It was all I could find🙏🏾
Jamel_AKA_Jamal ☺️ I know, I’ve looked. Maybe, I should give a shot and start a RUclips channel translating songs from Spanish. Lol
