I am so confused I must not have been paying attention, but I have put up curtain rods and curtains many many times in my apartments. I don't understand how this became such a debacle. Just put the curtains up they will look beautiful your living room will at least look a little finished. You're making such a easy task into something so complex I've literally done the hanging of curtains by I almost every time.

Rods are too long - altho they def need to extend beyond the windows by just a few inches at most. Enough to cover the edge of window of course. Can you reorder shorter rods or cut them? I’m all about dramatic curtains (long curtains, hung high!) but they def don’t need to extend that far outside of window 😊
Especially in Celebration. I remember years ago a friend dealt with violations on INTERIOR curtains color, and pattern. Not sure they still take it to that extreme level of enforcement however. (or that it's even still on the books..)
Hobby Lobby is already bringing out the Fall decor and a few Christmas items. Some people don't like when that stuff comes out too early......but I welcome it, since Fall is the greatest season of them all!
If you have green pillows on the sofa you should had bought green curtains to match the plant and not have everthing beige. Then buy a rug that has tomes of green, beige and some brown. When you decorate you have to combine colors. Not everything should be the same color. Just an advice.
Start making / keeping your to do list …..include estimated cost and estimated priority like 1,2,3… then start by doing the lower cost higher priority tasks first …. Most likely you will never get to the low priority items

The curtain rods are too high above your windows in my opinion. And the rods are too long and need to be exchanged for shorter ones or cut down. I think lighter curtains with a bit of color to them would look better than the heavy beige blackout curtains. "Hang" in there. This stuff is all a bit of trial and error. You'll get it.
Hey Kyle- I’m an architect maybe I can help. If you do mount your TV, don’t mount it as high as you showed- it’s too high for the size of your couch. Curtain rods being too long shouldn’t be a huge issue. You actually might find when you hang the curtains that it looks too “thin” and not full enough. Often we use 2 panels on each side to make it more full. That will take up more room on the rod. Hope this helps a little!
I find it to be a norm that televisions are mounted at highly sub-optimal heights in American homes. You should always aim for as center of vision of the viewer as possible, lessening neck strain and enhancing overall picture quality.
Home improvements never go as expected! Taking your time is the way to go vs making snap decisions and not getting the results you wanted. My two cents, I like the black and beige (and my husband would’ve definitely made me a visual - I have to see it before I make a decision lol), but I would definitely do shorter rods and not go so far past the window frame. Then I think mounting the tv will look esthetically pleasing vs the current situation. Stay patient, everything you’ve done looks great!
I would wait and get quality furniture. You will spend more money replacing furniture throughout your lives. It’s better to just wait and get what you love. ESP if you don’t NEED things yet. 😊
INTERIOR DESIGNER here. You need curtain rods that only extend 2-3 inches on each side of windows. That will free up more space for your TV too. Height is great tho. Hope you can exchange or maybe cut the rods down. Good luck.

Could have don’t a green curtain or a solid and a print curtain together to bring in texture and tones. Or other bold color throw pillow covers that you can change..

i really recommend finding studs for the curtain rods. blackouts are heavier, and you’ll probably be opening and closing them a lot. one or two anchors out of your seven windows is ok in a pinch, but i would not make it a practice.

The diffuser may damage the book since it sometimes spits out water droplets or even while you’re filling. It looks cute like that but I worry it may get warped.

I put up a curtain rod and curtains in my daughters room make sure you nail into the studs with the hangers much better than anchors. I want to do my Living Room also. Have fun. edit whatever the color of your curtains should show some of the same color in the carpet.
I would get a tube cutter from Harbor Freight (make sure it fits your rod's diameter). Then I would remove the end cap and cut an equal amount from each end to maintain symmetry.
Casey goes away for 4 hours hopping for the curtains to be done. She gets back home and everything looks the same. Just kidding Kyle. It’s not easy doing home decorations. I feel the pain. It sucks when things don’t go the way you expected.

IMO, you hung the rods way too wide, shorten the poles. You don’t have to make them as long as they go. Your rods shouldn’t be more than 5” outside the sides of the windows, that looks odd.
I know it is early for Halloween, but before you make big plans, check your HOA guidelines. (Just trying to save you heartache and money.) I live on a farm, so I don't have personal experience, but I have heard horror stories.

Curtains are tough. What about looking at woven shades instead of the blinds.? 🤔 They would add great texture and dimension to the room and they have so many choices. Also easier to hang😉. Some even have battery power so you can open and close with a remote. The bathroom is great! Y’all are doing amazing things in the house. Enjoy the ride:)

I got my curtains at IKEA and Target they were like $30 for 2 panels

It's called a measuring tape or ruler.
You should have the curtains go from the ceiling to floors and will make the room feel taller.
Also you can steam the curtains once they are hung.
