Platforms is a valid term for military aircraft. He follows it up saying to increase the fleet/airforce, etc. so that's obvious. They are platforms in the sense that they are able to deliver a variety of weapons and all of those options are not always open to every customer. Gotta love the arms industry making billions out of this.

technically you can dissasemble fighter plane just enough to call them parts and pieces of equipment, yet not too much to ship them obsolete equipment that might need too much assembly. i knew when they kept quiet on comment of shipment of jets, they were already hatching a plan covertly to get them there.
And from where this planes will take of, right out of the box maybe? Russia too have military satelites, not so difficult to destroy them on the ground.

Having NATO wouldn't hurt but a Ukrainian Polish would shut down muskovite threats to secure Europe's eastern gate.
It took all this time to get the Polish migs to Ukraine because each jet had to have ALL the 'NATO' gear removed > communications/weapons targeting/navigation/ecm-self protection, etc., etc. They had be converted into what the Ukrainian Air Force had BEFORE putin's atrocity began then they had to be dismantled and trucked/trained across the border and reassembled.
Very glad the Ukrainian Air Force is back in the fight with some more 'teeth'.....one more thing for the russian air crews (& navy) to worry about 🙂

It can only be the MiG 29 fighter jets from old Polish stocks. The planes may be old, but also robust and with a bit of electronic upgrading they can compete with the Eurofighter. The Russian Air Force now has at least some competition in the skies over Ukraine. I think the Czech Republic and Slovenia also wanted to send their MiG 29 jets to Ukraine. In my opinion, the MiG 29 is a beautiful jet. By the way, Romania also has MiG 29 jets, but all stored because the technical upgrade was too expensive, at 5 million euros per piece. That's why the Romanian Air Force prefers to use the MiG 21.

I recall when the Israelis took an American engine and coupled it up to a French airframe...back in the late 60's I think it was. They could not get the French engines for some reason so they adapted to a US engine to keep the planes serviceable. Necessity is the mother of invention.
I know this is just common sense, but you do know the Russians have a developed air defense system right? And where are these A-10's going to be based? And who's going to fly them? And after their 1st 'surprise' mission, who is going to prevent wherever they land being targeted immediately by air-to-ground missiles?

What took them so long?!? If these were provided weeks ago, perhaps the refugee crisis would not have ballooned to 5 million, Putin would have retreated with his tail behind him back to Moscow, and the agony of the Ukrainians would have been over.
