Thank you Palki Sharman for your candid view. The summit wasn't about seeking peace, but taking sides in the war. Rightly as the German Chancellor said a day prior to the summit, that the summit wasn't about proferring peace in the Ukraine War..

Peace summits during WWII usually did not involve Nazi Germany because they were war criminals. The same can be said about Russia. A lot of people also do not realize that there were negotiations for about 10 years without any results. This war is about ideology. Putin and his party think that Ukraine is Russia. So, obviously, the only option Ukraine has is to fight for their independence and freedom. However, at some point, Russia and Ukraine have to negotiate because Russia cannot be defeated militarily. That is why in this summit, it was important to clarify that the territorial integrity and security guarantees of Ukraine must be considered in any peace talks. It is sad that the BRICS countries did not sign the final papers clarifying these positions. I guess national interests take precedence over justice in India.
The problem is Putin thinks the world should recognize the four areas of Ukrainian territory he is endeavouring to fully steal as now being part of Russia & this is totally unacceptable! So how can you negotiate with such a position from a land-grabbing aggressor!
