We sure have had a lot of rain the past few days, looking forward to the expo and seeing all the vendors. I am sure you will do your best to make it top notch.
Thanks Keith. Hope it goes well for sure
Joe….. thanks. I’ll be watching for the show. Hope you video for those of us who can’t get there. Also hope you have invested in a cordless grease gun.
haha. I am too cheap to buy one. LOL. I did it old school. Sorry you can't make it Jim. I hope to have some cool vids for sure
Good luck with the bad weather I’ll be praying for you
Send me a boat Mr Hill!
I will be there, I was asked to bring my Wolfe Ridge Pro 28C
Good to know Doug. Look forward to you hanging out!
Joe…The flooding sure illustrates the great surface of your woodyard, versus the tough conditions in your back yard! 👍
slightly different lol!
Hi joe. To keep the birds out from under your roof tie strings to the bottom of your roof supports with 1/4 inch washers hanging from them. The strings should be 18" to 36" long and every few feet apart. Remember birds don't have doctors or hospitals and are afraid to fly through the strings.
Good to know Phil. That may be a thing for me to do
The storm hit bad on Monday night last night we bearly got anything. See ya at the Open House Joe. 🍻🍻👍👍
It largely missed us too buddy except for the rain. BIG RAIN!!!
Wow, you guys got more rain than we did! The creeks are up, but nothing like that.
I really don't think the ground could get any more saturated. We are simply flooded out. Cortland was without power today, Lakeview closed
Hello Joe. Looks like you have the perfect setup for the Expo! I would love to try to make it this year. Take care👊🏻
Would love to have you Todd. Thanks for considering buddy
Keep dry - I'm sure your expo will be a HUGE success. Enjoy the journey - cheers
Thanks Bob. I'm having fun for sure
Almost 4 inches of rain down here in Ashville Ohio Joe.... High winds and heavy rain all day yesterday... Lotta flooding
more rain today Greg LOL!
@@ohiowoodburner April showers!!!
Looking great, Joe. Hopefully, your open house will be better than expected. 😉👍
as long as everyone gets along we will be ok Dan!
I think everyone will get along just fine 😉👍
Birds will eventually realize the fake owl is fake and ignore it
Weather! You’ve got actual weather. Overall winter was good aside from a few storms, but … Hi Joe, Elaine from Canada here, excited to hear more about the big expo in May. You could bulk-buy some work gloves, stencil logo them and sell them at your OWB table, that way everyone can help split or stack. Heh heh. Hoping the carport doesn’t turn into a giant frisbee when the wind picks up. Cheers.
It could be the worlds largest kite Elaine! I hope it stays put!
Birds are afraid of PLASTIC owls...to be precise.
Sorry we won't be able to make the expo. My part time job won't give me the hours off.
sorry to hear the news. Was looking forward to you both again.
Fantastic news of your upcoming Event Joe. Unfortunately I would Love to Attend but my Doctor says to early to Stress and Exert myself. I do think I am going to order one of your Great Shirts. I will be in touch on that. We are expecting Rain, to Snow today about 2 to 8inches. I did Cut the other day for my 1hour of Work. Go about 16rounds cut up and in Garage. Now today 1hour of Splitting it up on my 5ton Splitter. Yesterday was a loss as I hurt all over and kinda out of Shape. Doctor said Slow and do not over do, but as A Woodhound (lol) I have to Learn. Stay Safe out there and keep us all updated on this Great Event you have coming up. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY. PS-1 SHIRT IN GREEN LARGE. I WILL E-MAIL YOU THE DAY OF THE EVENT.
.
I was hoping you could make it Ron but maybe we can do it again next year. Get well bud
You need to put down some line stone #2 so you don't have all the mud and water on the lot!!!
I have a plan. Despite the looks it is very firm
Excited about the expo even though in here in Australia, (but disappointed I can’t buy a T Shirt! Their site still shows ‘no tees available’ 🤬)
I think having food trucks, static tools suppliers, restrooms, and possibly a ‘RUclipsrs’ area with a bunch of powerpoints for charging, and an interview space away from the main ‘Mechanised’ show area is a great idea👍🏼👍🏼 have a great day Joe 👍🏼👍🏼
If you send them an email I am sure they would be able to calculate shipping buddy. Let me know if you don't find success with it
Good day just a thought. In a previous video you talked about a low cost splitter with great options. Can you possibly reach out to Split Fire & see if they could attend your show or maybe allow you to demo so we can get an honest review?
I need to look into them. However, there will be a splitter here fitting this space. More to come later.
Taking a day for preventive maintenance is a great idea. There is probably enough days of rain to keep everything maintained which is very important because when equipment goes down the operation comes to a halt.
very true. The rain has been non stop lately. Everything is flooded out
Good morning Joe! I wish you great success on the firewood Expo. Bob gets to try all the cool toys first. Are putting solar in to keep the wood boiler going in a power outage?
I am already set up with that Dave. I built a moderate sized off grid system for power outages. just my critical loads for now.
Ready for the expo,we found a air bnb to stay not far from your woodyard 😊
That's awesome! Make sure to check out Mosquito Lake while you are here
Rain, rain go away, come back another day! Looks like the perfect day to get some of your maintenance work finished. I received my expo shirt last week from Sweet Tees and will see you in six weeks!! Have a great day Joe!
That's awesome Bill. I LOVE that shirt. The design and colors are awesome
Joe work never stops there is always something to do stay dry good video
You got that right!
Joe,another excellent video 😮😊❤
Thanks Todd!
Good Morning Joe, same weather here. Just subscribed to Bob’s channel 🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸
Awesome! I find watching him very relaxing. He said he has always been searching for silence!
I'm hoping to be there joe
Love to have you John!
Hire a GOOD generator company... need extra feeder and distribution.. can also supply lighting..
Joe, when you drag raced that guy with your truck, would've been even bwtter if you had the trailer hitched up. Imagine his feathers getting ruffled if that had happened!
Channels supporting channels, love it! I just got invited to your expo we'll see if I can swing it. Keep cuttin'!
Seems like y’all have had a lot of rain lately
water water everywhere!
Hi Milo, Owwwww. If the plastic owl doesn't work, the Cracker Barrel in New Stanton had a problem with birdie deposits on their patrons. They sprayed their roof with a pleasant smelling bird repellant. It worked. You may wish to contact them if the owl doesn't work. Hornets? Practice your hornet spray quick draw. I attack the nests at night. Also, a shop vacuum placed by the nest at night works great. Be sure to turn it on! lol They can't resist attacking it and getting sucked in. Then you spray in the hornet spray. Gets em all. Shalom/gw. PS 4% over the counter Lidocane cream take😮s away the stings in seconds.
Sounds like a Great event!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
no probs staying hydrated this week Dave!
I put a black rubber snake under the awning of a door I use the most here in the apartment building I live in yesterday after tearing a sparrows nest down multiple times. I'm pretty sure that done the trick. Never saw nary a sparrow under the awning today.
Take advantage of the rain. Fill-in your low spots with gravel and find best ways to slope and drain your work area.
The ducks are loving life here at the moments also...We really needed this 3-4" of rain the last few days. It has been such a dry winter and was reading in yesterdays paper where the local fire depts were overwhelmed with fires the weekend before. A lot of those fires were controlled burns from folks spring cleaning their properties that soon got way out of hand.
I would think lack of electricity would be an issue with your booth spaces this year and moving forward. Gonna be a lot of generators running. Hopefully as show grows...Maybe charging for booth space will help with funds to run some electricity around the perimeter walls that could be used by vendors!👍
I don't think there will be many with electrical needs. I can only think of one vendor that will be using a gen
Demo pricing at the trade shows is always a good deal. We just picked up a Kubota SVL65-2 that was too good a deal to pass on for being one year old demo.
I think just about everything here will be for sale.
Rubber snakes work well for the birds .
Would like to come to the expo, have some vacation time to use, we'll see! Will check out the channel Sir, have a great day!!!
Would love to have you buddy. Looking to be a great time
What does the old wood yard at your home look like with the rain?
I have a feeling that Bon Nelson will comvert you over to a Wolfe Ridge splitter after your expo event. 😉
haha. I am open to anything
Hi Joe - its Big Rodders in Ireland. Looking forward to the Big Day and the video footage for us far away folk. Why is everything so much bigger in the US of A - bigger trucks, bigger engines, bigger processors, bigger wind, bigger floods, bigger raindrops 😅😊!
I may be in Germany in June. Can't remember if I told you yet. Maybe I can stop by or wave as I fly over!
Looking forward to the event! Nicer weather is headed your way, hopefully it'll help dry up the yard a bit.
haha. Snow today!
Joe get some bird house 🏡 for the wood 🪵 yard . Brad got a bald head American 🇺🇸 eagle for his wood 🪵 yard . Beaver 🦫 move into Brad wood 🪵 yard . 😊
thanks Len!
Keep the snow shovel handy . Ill drive that great distance from Airport road .Spay down the equipment with peppermint oil for wasp and mice
I saw flakes today but not hardly enough to stick
I hope a pellet mill partner is coming. Also a sawmill. Jessie can find you saw logs to build with. Bring a bagging jig with breathable cinch bags.
don't think a pellet mill is coming but I heard a saw mill is. Stay tuned buddy
You better buy some rock and spread it around in those low spots Before the bottom falls out Then you'll have problems Love your videos Keep after it thank you
thanks Matt. We are going to be working on it some
Joe are You having the Rex wood processor at the expo? They have a dealer in New York I think. Mike Morgan had one He dem
oed.
Prob not Jim. I don't now of them and I think I wont have room for anyone else
I won't be able to attend your event in person, I really wanted to but the work situation won't allow me this year so I hope there will be a 2.0 next year 🙏 I can't wait to see the multiple videos from all the woodhounds and companies that will be there.
sorry to hear Lyle. I hope to have it again but I will know for sure after this event
Oakland is like a savings account. The money sits there for a while before you get use it.
Yes... but I don't remember money smelling this bad! lol
Good day that my father birthday MAY 18 , 1924 . 😊
awesome to know Len. My dad was born in the end of May
All the beeching about oak, have you noticed it dries any faster at the new yard vs the house?
haha. I do think the wood dries faster at the new yard. The ground is hard packed and really radiates heat
Are you still going to have a chainsaw day on Firday the 17th and what times would you do that ?
That is the plan for now. Prob start around noon
Hello, will we be able to purchase wood on the day of the EXPO
I will have some bundles prob. The bulk wood is already sold. It is just waiting to be deliered.
This event will go down in Ohio Wood Burner history.. as for your pod cast.. any chance on getting a daily dose??.. just finished binge listening to all episodes and was sad to learn i had to wait a week ..
haha. I don't think we could do more than one a week. We both find it hard to set down for recording w our schedules. Thanks for supporting buddy
We will be attending.
awesome! Love to have you Rick
Mahalo from projects in paradise. Maybe use those crazy pigeon hawk speakers like home depot, but that may be annoying to listen to all day. Gary from SE Mich.
Hi Gary. Thanks for stopping by. I hope to show off one of my solar projects on my channel one day. Have a great Day Gary
Thanks for stopping by Gary!
Sherily you can’t be serious
haha. My name isn't shirley!
Mahalo all I'm here from Bob sent me🤙🌺🦉
Great to have you on board G. Thanks so much for stopping by.
If you have alot of frays you can take a small torch and just singe them off. we did it on the round baler belts and stopped them from getting worse.
Interesting Kev. Never thought of that. I may give that a try buddy.
@ohiowoodburner we would just run it at a idle and they would singe off as they came around. Longer ones took a couple of times around.
G'day Joe, International Firewood Expo ! I'll bring my swag, when the Byrds see that Owl they'll ask who are you who who who who. That bloke Bob's property sounds like our cottage on the farm off grid solar wind garden orchard except the hill I'm on Isn't an active volcano 🥵😀👍.
haha. I need to come visit you some day. Need to get a japa dealer in NSW
That's all good Joe, but for the forty third time I'm not In NSW I'm in Victoria. I'm going to start referring to you as North Dakota wood burner 😠😜👍🇦🇺.
haha. I think I keep making that mistake bc I am able to spell NSW !!
Tks joe iii iiii check out you buddy in the sun ☀️ now .
thanks Len. You will like him. Tell him hello, he has been a little under the weather
Was wondering will you be supplying work gloves at the gate if so thought it would be extremely interesting for all the guests to to sign their gloves at the gate weather the guests use them or not to have all guests as the leave the Expo to leave one glove behind for a future raffle of some sort
haha. Good idea but no. I operate on thin margins so if I had to buy a bunch of gloves that I can afford it would be those surgeon gloves from the hospital lolol
@@ohiowoodburner yeah I realize that you do and rightly so pulp cords have gone for good money for many years now that was my first thought was those disposable kind
I hope You buy some gravel before the Expo happens.
I sell firewood for a living so I'm not exactly awash with cash. Regardless the yard is hard packed and this is about as wet as I have ever seen Ohio. I hope it will dry out by mid May
@@ohiowoodburner 10-4, I really shouldn’t have made that remark, You’re one of my favorite You tubers, maybe You could find someone with a tractor with a landscape box blade, that would probably make it look like new.
The owner is going to lay down some material before the Expo so I hope that keeps me a little out of the water! I don't recall a week like what we had before. Constant Rain!!! Thanks for your comment Roy. I appreciate you and hope you can make out here one day
In Australia we hang rubber snakes around areas where birds congragate , it scares them away !!!
Guaranteed 👍
It freaks people out too !!! 😂
Interesting. Let me think on that one lol
@@ohiowoodburner
It's freaked me out a few times seeing snakes hanging above !!! 😂
Off topic, any idea as to what you’re going to do with that waste pile that’s growing? Maybe court a pellet making manufacturer.
No plan yet. lol. One day I will get it figured out
I don’t understand you’re thinking on oak. Here in Oklahoma it is the number 1 firewood. It is the hottest burning wood and makes real good Cole’s. A good thing to do while you’re on the slow side is buy a tube bender and run tube all to 1 or 2 spots
I don't like the smell of oak mostly. SInce I sell seasoned wood oak puts me in a bind for two years before I can sell it. Lastly most my customers don't use firewood for heat so the species is usually irrelevant to them as long as it is a hardwood
Hey Joe... just drove by your woodyard recently on my way up to Bissell's in Jefferson for their maple open house. Considering coming out for the Expo to learn something. Thanks!
Thanks Geoff. Bring me some maple syrup when you do stop by! lol
@@ohiowoodburner 👍
Morning Joe, catching up on a few episodes today
Glad to have you anytime Honda!
Hey 👋 Joe
Hey there
Joe I’m sure the firewood expo will all work out good and be a big success. Hope these storms bypasses your woodyard and the cover up.🪵👍
The big winds missed us last night but huge rain didn't!
