This was perfect, I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a video for my 74 Charger but your video made this the easiest install I've had in a long time.
Probably the most helpful video I’ve found so far. Many videos run through disassembly and don’t really cover putting it back together partly before mounting or the whole process in case you screw it up like I did. Hopefully this will allow me to put my brakes back together properly and on the road again.
Also the shoe contact pads on the backing plates should be inspected for excess wear/grooves and if reusable, they should be lubed lightly with a Silicon type grease before the shoes are reinstalled. Always refer to the Factory Service Manual for details. Good basic service video.
Excellent! These are identical to my 2001 ram 4x4. My self adjuster and parking brake stuff was missing so I didn’t know how it all went together. Thank you for this great tutorial!
I'd like to point out that there is a conflict in modern parts kits and replacement shoes for 60s-70s. The new shoes you buy have no provision hole for the older short lead spring. Those are all generic stamped to be identical (front to rear & left to right) cores and instead of a hole it has the parking brake lever cutout stamped through. Its near impossible to get the short spring to retain in that 'slot' so its important to reuse the old long spring from the trailing shoe.
Where do you get your spring kit from? The kit I bought and all the others I’ve found; the lower spring has the spring portion to one side vs being in the middle and having a “neck” on each end… which I feel like is hindering my self adjuster cable
Hello!, In one of your newest videos you showed an early system without the self adjuster. I have that on my hot-rod. Curious If I am able to upgrade and put a self adjuster in there or should I just keep the current set up? Thoughts?
Great video. I’m doing my rears 10”, 1 3/4 width shoes, on 8 3/4 rear end. 1972 Demon. Neither side has that cross bar. Should I be concerned. Do I need to find some.? Just taking them apart as we speak.
Which you would do one for my 2018 charger because I was trying to remove my parking brake cable by taking out the wheel bearing and when I tried to pop the leaver the drum kinda fell apart everything pop out of place now I am trying to put it back together
@@kllrbee69 yeah i know but what it was never explained if you had the one type of shoe you cant use the short spring...not an option for that shoe type as you seen.
my drum brakes, on the parking brake lever, in front theres an anchor pin with plate and spring. theyre calling this spring an anti rattle spring, cant find the part anywhere online. is it okay if i dont install this when servicing my rear drum brakes? if not where can i get that part? it says its a bendix drum system. still cant find that anchor pin plate anti rattle spring
This is how all how-to videos should be. Very helpful. This will make assembling mine so much easier!

Great video because of good explanation and camera angles
Thank you. Working on my '65 Barracuda and ready to start working on the brakes. Thank you.

Very good video thanks for good instructions
Great video. Can somebody please tell me what is the name of the 2 tools he is showing at 1min45sec?
Does this video cover mid-90s Ram Van? Keep hearing 70-80s.

Thank you, great job it really helped.
Appreciate the guide!
Great Video, But I'm having a hard time finding the long horizontal spring that keeps the shoes together on the bottom!
Thank you for this video!
Great video. Thanks 👍🏻

Excellent video. Seriously. Excellent.
Seriously redundant comment.

Great video 😉 covered years springs emergency brake thank you verry much .and I hope you have a verry nice day😉helped me with my 87- D150
Thanks, great video!
Very informative vid. And have link for hardware. I just picked up a 78 dodge b100 and had a adjusting spring break. Can't find at automotive store.
Thanks working on my 79 w150 and when I pulled the drum off everything was broken
Do you have a video for a front drum brake, i have a 72 duster with front drum brakes that need to get rebuilt
On the example you're showing which side are you doing driver's or passenger and which direction left or right is the front of the car? Thank you
Drivers side. The primary (front) shoe is on the left. Pay attention to what he is telling you.
How do you attach the hand break cable after assembling on table?
Where did you get the new e-brake hardware?
thank you .
How is that short spring going to stay in the large opening if you want to run the short spring instead of two large?
Id like to know that too. Guess I need to use the long springs.
@@kllrbee69 thats what i had to do i bought another spring kit with the long springs and used what i needed.
@@kw686 I know the hardware kits are cheap, but thats just dumb and annoying.

How do the slot type parking brake levers mount?
great video
