I am in there with you! Tried Procreate years ago …..was an absolute failure! I think ill purchase one of his tutorials on his shop all of the brushes and all and give it a shot!
WoW! I long time ago that I wanted to try digital watercolour! As an analogue watercolorist (3 years), I will definitely change to digital! Wow, again, and thanks for this tutorial!
I'm super in love with your drawing techniques and tips. i just started digital drawing and I don't know where shud I start but by watching your video I have learned quite a lot things 😊. Thank you
I love this one! The color palette is great and the cat looks so cozy sleeping there. I tried doing one by myself using your sketch (one with a cat and a few plants and a plant stool) but I couldn’t get the same beautiful result. I’ll be waiting for more scenery with cats. ;)
Definitely a new concept for me...of course, I’m not an artist and new to procreate. This type of shadowing is new as well. I’ll be watching this again and trying the techniques with your sketch....thanks
This was such a great tutorial! I’m a traditional watercolour artist that recently got an iPad Pro, and I had no idea you could make such a convincing digital watercolour painting! Amazing - off to go and try this now 😀
Purchased the watercolor brush kit on Etsy yesterday. Best purchase I've made all year! The brushes are fantastic and the paper texture is a game changer. Looking forward to more tutorials and videos!
I love your process!!!!! Yes, please, more of these types of tutorials too! I will admit, I come to this channel a couple of times each day, hoping to find another one of your ideas! Thank you, Calvin.
I love this illustration! Love the perspective and mid century feel to it. Now that I’ve watched the prior videos, this one has just the right amount of details and instructions. More please! 💕
What an amazing tutorial. Using the selection tool with hue/saturation/brightness like you did will save so much time and effort. THANK YOU. I am now a subscriber.
How did itvwork with you ..because when i make the selection area to give the shadow it just fill automaticly with the previouse colour i've used . So how can i make it transparent like the video . I didn't get it
@@saraalmutairi1592 : Be sure you don’t have color fill turned on in the selection area. You need to toggle it off. It looks like a little paint bucket. I hope this helps you.
Do you have patreon or anything where I can support you and your amazing art? You just helped me achieve something I have been struggeling with for two years now and I can't say how happy I am. You are a really awesome teacher!
I loved it ! I do not use procreate but i did picked up some useful tips! This is my first video from you so i don't know your regular video style but i liked this one! it shows exactly what you need to do to achieve the desire result. Loved your video, subscribing it!
Hey! Awesome tutorial, as usual! The only thing I miss is sometimes which brush you use, because I watch on mute because of work. :D I have one question: for those of us that don't know how to draw, how do you make sketches? Can you make some tutorial for that? :) Great work!
I've been banging my head trying to think of something with a cat on it for my friends upcoming birthday... this gives me inspiration :) Thank you for sharing!
This was so helpful and fun to watch. Really love the watercolour brushes you use too. You explained everything really well. Thank you again. I, definitely going to subscribe ☺️
Thank you ❤️ Mostly, the watercolor effect comes from the paper texture file. I create that with photoshop, and my scanner. Then, I put those images into Procreate. The brush is also important, but I think they aren't so critical. One unique thing about watercolor is how blending doesn't really effect the paper. It's just the colors and shades mixing together. I make a lot of textures and brushes for painting watercolor in procreate and you can find them in my Etsy store. If you have Photoshop and a high resolution scanner, you could make your own textures - I have a video I can send you 😊
If you use the iPad and apple pencil, it will really help grow your art. It's a lot like painting on paper except you can edit, undo, and trace things.
@@calvinatdrifterstudio8438 Thanks! I don't know how to draw at all 😁 but I just bought yesterday some cheap drawing tablet to see and play in Photoshop. It's a bit harder than I thought, and seems weird to do some stuff pen but then other actions with a mouse because it's quicker. Seems that drawing on an actual screen would be more natural. But I will try to learn a bit and if I will like it and be any good than iPad and apple pencil is the next step. Thanks for inspiration!
Concerning the paper texture do you just add it as a picture and paint layers under it? The paper should be the same as the canvas size so that during printing the entire picture will have the texture right?
Thank you so much 🥰 The kit includes a paper texture, but it's not the same one I used in this video. I used the Storybook texture for this one. In the watercolor kit, the regular paper is really great but it has more texture than the storybook, so it's not suitable for every style.
Hi! I love your art and tutorials!!! I need to know where can I buy the water blender brush? I can’t find any like yours!!! Please help! Ps: I’m from Chile!! Thank you! 🌟
Hi! Thank you so much 💖 I don't have any course that is designed for children, but it is a great idea! On my channel I have a playlist of 'simple watercolor tutorials'. I think it might be a good place to start of you can help her get everything setup at first (like the sketch, I think downloading it might be confusing for her. The ipad is really confusing with how it handles files)

This was my first procreate tutorial and I learned so much! You have a great way of teaching and I appreciate you sharing this!
Finished watching, went straight to your shop and bought the watercolour brushes. I absolutely LOVE them!

I love the way you add shadows by changing the hue and brightness rather than painting them in. Very clever. Thanks for sharing this.
I love this one! The color palette is great and the cat looks so cozy sleeping there. I tried doing one by myself using your sketch (one with a cat and a few plants and a plant stool) but I couldn’t get the same beautiful result. I’ll be waiting for more scenery with cats. ;)
I like the way you explained it so easily... Without extra talks.. And everything you said was interesting as well! Great work!
Definitely a new concept for me...of course, I’m not an artist and new to procreate. This type of shadowing is new as well. I’ll be watching this again and trying the techniques with your sketch....thanks

Hello I m Rinnie from Thailand. thank you for your sharing. It is very useful. I am waiting more video clip. 😉
One of the videos of procreate!! How are you getting the watercolor feel? Apart from water blender? Is it because of the brush?
Thank you ❤️
Mostly, the watercolor effect comes from the paper texture file. I create that with photoshop, and my scanner. Then, I put those images into Procreate.

OMG. This is amazing, I want to buy an iPad just to try this!

Hi Calvin…..question: Did you begin as a physical artist and move over to digital/ or begin illustrating as a digital illustrator?
I CANNOT draw at all !! Thank you for the sketch. Love it ! Can't wait to make it !
love it. thaaaaanks
So cute! This is amazing ❤
Awwww 🥰 so cute it hurts
Amazing :) can’t wait to try this!

Hi, amazing tutorial! Thanks 🧡 quick question, does the water colour textured paper come with the brush set?
Thank you so much 🥰
The kit includes a paper texture, but it's not the same one I used in this video. I used the Storybook texture for this one.
In the watercolor kit, the regular paper is really great but it has more texture than the storybook, so it's not suitable for every style.
Love love love it as per usual. But extra love today cos its a cat😍😍😍
What tablet are you using? This is AMAZING!
I don't have an Ipad but I will watch your lesson anyway 🤩
this is so helpful, thanks a lot!
Super interesting! Thank you for sharing your Knowledge :)
Hi! I love your art and tutorials!!! I need to know where can I buy the water blender brush? I can’t find any like yours!!! Please help! Ps: I’m from Chile!! Thank you! 🌟
This is awesome. Do you have a course from A to Z for kids or general audience? My daughter is interested. She is 8.
