    Hi, how do i disable Auto headlamps feature? in monsoon the auto headlamps switches on even in day time due to low light. As i turn it down to switch off mode, it springs back to auto and when i go down the head lamps turn off but the DRLs and the tail lights are dimly lit. Is there a solution where the headlights and the tail lights go completely off, im ok if the DRLs stay on. Please help, thank you!!

    One question: Do you reckon the TPMS sensor of the damaged tyre would also have been damaged beyond repair ? And if so, will that not affect the overall efficiency of the tyre pressure monitoring system ?

    Is there a difference in GC between V and VX, since V offers smaller tyres with a diameter difference and less tyre height of 8mm?
    I'm asking this because I'm planning on buying a V with 185/60R15 and upgrading to 205/60R15. The dia difference here will be 4.2 whereas if I go with vx, the tyre size being 185/55R16, the dia will be within 3% after installing 205/60R15.
    Is the suspension setup differently tuned between V and VX to accommodate different tyres and still offer 165mm GC, If not, then it is impossible for V variant to have 165mm GC with stock tyres and actually will have around 161mm.
    Basically, I want to go with 205/60 R15 Yokohomas in the V MT 5th gen. It'll give me around 10mm in extra GC and essentially remove the scraping issue, should I go with it?
    The other option is 195/60R15 but If my point regarding V already having lower GC is true, then there will be just a correction in GC rather in a proper increase.

    I have 2021 honda city zx cvt. I have few queries. Appreciate if you can clarify those. First, in terms of tyre upgrade. Which is the right tyre size ? Should I go for 195/55/R16 or 205/55/R16 ? I have seen many users are using 205/55/R16 without any problem. What is your take on that ? Secondly, which brand I should go for in terms of reliability, less noisy, smoother ride with good grip ? Please suggest. Another query I have is in terms of ground clearance of the car. Many a times I have observed that the engine protector cover touches the speed humps. Any solutions to that ? Do I have to install suspension modulator such as Rogerab or any such brands ? Please suggest. At last, I need to say that NVH level of the car is very poor. Can I go for damping which can help in this case ? If yes, which are the brands do you recommend for damping ? Appreciate if you can provide some clarifications on my queries as these are genuine issues that I have faced till now. Thanks in advance.

    U can even go for 195/60 (more sidewall) coz comparing with base "v"model (185/60) deviation is 1.9 % & clearance 6 mm. BTW, rim size has nothing to do with outer diameter/measurement. 15" gives better plush ride than 16" coz of more rubber than steel. AWA, 15 " can hold more weight at rear/boot than 16 ".
    Cont UC, primacy, Yoko earth are performance tyres (not comfort ie not soft rubber)
    I use Bridgestone turanza (soft rubber)at back & Bridgstone B290 (hard rubber) at front.
    B290 makes less noise than stock B250, huh....but B250 lasts long. Yes, u have to compromise on durability over comfort. Most Micheline tyres are soft rubber (silica rubber)
    Front suspension wont affect our butts much coz 1) its independent suspension 2) its far away frm seat. Hard rubber is good at front coz it takes the most hits & engine sits over it.
    As a 5th gen City user, I would recommend. If ur a hard peddle driver, its good to change oil ASAP ( If u sense, smell of fuel in oil) coz its GDI (not PFI like 4th gen) and its good is consider better fuel octane numbers coz preignition used to happen in direct injection engines. BTW if urs is Diesel engine u got a better luck coz diesel has better lubricating property than gasoline.

  • @saravana_ir
    @saravana_ir Год назад +2

    Nice video. I too feel 195/55 R16 is the right upsize. Also, while upgrading tires it is beneficial to consider the load-index of the tire. 87 is widely used, but if you want tires that are much more resistant to cuts go for 91 load index rated tires, these will have stronger but less flexible side walls, the downside is that the ride comfort will be compromised when the car is not fully loaded and the suspension will be overworked than when using 87 load-index tires. So for upsizing, 195/55 R16 87(load index) if you drive your car under normal load and 195/55 R16 91(load index) if your car if fully loaded most of the times. These are the general guidelines, but depending on the tire manufacturers and the compound used, sometimes even 91 load index tires can feel comfortable.

Looking only for Automatic transmission and safe car. Open for Both SuVs and sedans?

    • @DriveCraftR
      @DriveCraftR  Год назад

      Hello Neeraj,
      If your city has good roads, if you dont have serious offroad patches in your commute , a sedan is anyday better than a SUV. Reasons being it is more comfortable, more fun to drive, more relaxed and a plus point of huge boot. Regular bad roads with normal pot holes are managable in a sedan. But if you have some really bad patches, absolutely no roads in your commute, you should opt for a SUV.
      In 15-20 lac range, according to me, Honda City is the most comfortable, most reliable, decently equipped with features. It has a ASEAN NCAP rating of 5 stars, so safety is also not a issue.
      Talking about SUVs in this range, you can go for the Toyota Hyryder, VW Taigun, Suzuki Grand Vitarra. All three are good choices with their own pros and advantages.

    Thank you Ripesh! Great content and completely educative. The upsize recommended by you i.e. 195/55 R16 generates 1.79% error, increases GC by 5.5mm and increases height by .43inches. You didn't cover in your video
    - Whether there is any effect on electronics - ABS, VSC/ESC, BA, etc.? Or How it is affected and how one has to change his driving a bit to accumulate the difference/affect?
    - What is the travel change in braking for you after upsizing the tyres?
    - Did the dealer/service center pose any warranty void risks to you?
    - Not so needed but helpful if you educate us how to calculate/derive from the error % i.e. 1.79% in this case. How to interpret it into KMS driven, distance travelled on odo? Maybe another video to talk about.
    It would be helpful and much appreciated your answers for above which will help your followers in much informed decision making.

      @DriveCraftR  Год назад +1

      You can upgrade to 195/60-R15. You can also go for 205/55-R15, but there will be less benefits in terms of sidewall. So you can upgrade to 195/60-R15, it would be a better choice.

    While upsizing let's say 195/55/R16 do we need to change rims as well ? Sorry I am very dump at this 😬

    • @DriveCraftR
      @DriveCraftR  Год назад +3

      No you are not dumb, will help you in that.
      If you are talking about the top model zx varient, it already comes with 16 inches rim so you wont have to change the rims. If you are upsizing in the lower varients, you will have to change the rims, as the lower varients come with 15 inches rim.
      You can check your tyre size. Suppose your tyre size is 185/55-R16, the "R16" denotes Rim size, which in this case (185/55-R16) is 16 inches. 👍👍🙂🙂.
      Do let me know if that answers your question

    Hi Ripesh, hope you are well
    I just wanted to know about Bridgestone Tyres with same upsizing (195/55/R16) as you suggested in this video, any suggestions or comments on this brand. I am still using stock Tyres in my Honda City 5th, clocked 7000km so far no such issues faced. I am thinking of replacing these Tyres after watching your video.

      If you want a better performance car with a better overall handling you can go for Virtus. But if you want a "Better" car altogether, with peace of mind, good reliability, good engine, you should go for Honda City. Also with the city you get more comfort, good handling, and a smooth refined engine (Virtus is a marginally better handling car, but the engine is not as refined as the city)

    sometimes it makes more sense to reduce the rim size. In this case selling the 16inch rims and buying better looking 14inch rims would be better, which might have also gotten you a profit. then buying any of these size Tyres 185 70 r14, 195 65 r14, or 205 60 r14. all of these sizes allow you to have a greater sidewall thereby reducing the likely hood of your tires being cut from the side. as far as driving dynamics these sizes should not affect anything adversely nor should it effect the mileage. Additionally, the cost of these tires should go down from 7 or 8k to 5.5k per Tyre.

      205/55r16 would be a perfect upsize or 205/50r16. 60 profile would be too big and will cause speedometer error. Go for michelin or continental if price is not a problem and enjoy the ride and power of the city.

    I bought my Honda City Zx 2 months before, and have never had any issues with the stock tyres but I don’t like them coz they’re too slim. I’m thinking about getting MICHELIN Primacy but I’m also confused for MRF Perfinza. I got the MRF ones in the june for my baleno and one tyre cost me around ₹7,500 and the grip is very good.
    Which one would you suggest, MRF Perfinza or MICHELIN Primary ?
    The Size I’m upgrading to is 195/55 R16.

      The issue we are discussing here happens only once to let you know about it 😅. Tyre burst happens only once in an unfortunate event and anything can happen, from you being stranded out in nowhere to you losing control in a high speed situation.
      My recommendation would be Michelin Primacy, if your budget allows. It is a superior tyre altogether.

      Hi again, I actually don't have any issues with the ground clearance of the stock tyres, all I need is better grip and width. After giving it a lot of thought, I have finally decided to go with the Michelin Pilot Sport 4- 205/50/R16. Now the only doubt I have is that I don't want the steering to get too heavy as I am habitual of driving single handed. Please tell me if I'm making any mistakes. Thanks
