I have 2017 V CVT City model. It has 175/65/R15.
I am planning to go for 195/60/ R15. My 90% driving is in City and the rest 10% is highway/long drives . No offroading. Please advise if this replacement would help in better ride & handling and if yes which company tyre would you recomnend.
Are you really feeling the need of upsizing? 90% city driving shouldn’t give any real problem in terms of stability or braking performance. Replacement will definitely will improve handling and ride quality on highways, but will compromise a bit on mileage. So upsize if you really think it’s necessary.
@@WheelsTuber I like the way the car handles on highways at high speed. But in City conditions when it goes over small bumps or those small yellow-black speed breakers, it really is uncomfortable.
I have recently kept slightly higher tyre pressure and noticed some positive effects with it.
185/60 r15 wala model jo hai, ye size sahi hai ya change karna chaiye? High speed till 100 jhel lega yeh ya nahi!

Is there a difference in GC between V and VX, since V offers smaller tyres with a diameter difference and less tyre height of 8mm?
I'm asking this because I'm planning on buying a V with 185/60R15 and upgrading to 205/60R15. The dia difference here will be 4.2 whereas if I go with vx, the tyre size being 185/55R16, the dia will be within 3% after installing 205/60R15.
Is the suspension setup differently tuned between V and VX to accommodate different tyres and still offer 165mm GC, If not, then it is impossible for V variant to have 165mm GC with stock tyres and actually will have around 161mm. Basically, I want to go with 205/60 R15 Yokohomas in the V MT 5th gen. It'll give me around 10mm in extra GC and essentially remove the scraping issue, should I go with it?
The other option is 195/60R15 but If my point regarding V already having lower GC is true, then there will be just a correction in GC rather in a proper increase.

I have honda city zx cvt(petrol) 2021…stock tyres 🛞 se bahut smooth ride quality hai no need to change tyre size..but jiske pass base model hai wo top model ka tyre lagwa skta hai r16 bahut achi ride quality hai fir honda city ki…r15 se r16 krwa skte hai base model hai jiske pass…honda city 43000 km drive kar chuka hu bahut achi car hai…much better than so called micro mid size SUVs like creta seltos Etc…Honda city ka mileage v bahut acha hai city drive 12-13 highway drive 16-17km/litre..after sale service honda ki bahut achi hai…jis v bhai ka budget hai 15-18lakh wo zroor test drive kre honda city ka…honda city se aap nirash nhi hoge ✔️

There can be a slight affect on mileage. Change only if your drive on highway very very frequently. I am using stock tyres. I am mostly driving in cities and sometimes on highways. Not facing major challenges.

You can definitely change the stock tyres for better road presence and performance. Talk to the dealership once if they themselves upgrade the tyres at a nominal cost.

You can easily upgrade to 185/55/R16, because higher variants of Honda city is already having that tyre size. There won’t be any issue.
No it's not recommended because sidewall thickness will change by more than 5% . The sidewall thickness change should not be more than 2% better you go for 195/60/r15

I have driven my city after upsizing to 185 65 15 for about 25k. No issues. About 1kmpl drop in efficiency. Better grip and stability. Better looks.
upsize will increase the side wall, how will that affect ride quality? I dont think this will be bumpy ride but will become more smooth.

Depends if you are really a driving enthusiast. There may be minimal change in mileage. For regular driving in cities and sometimes in highways, the existing tyre size is good enough.

I think 195 60 r15 is good enough. You don’t need to change that.
Which variant do you have? Issues seems more with the ZX variant which has 16 inch wheels with thin tyres
Mine is ZX variant only. It’s not an issue, it’s about being comfortable with whatever available or better experience for driving enthusiasts at the expense of mileage!

That may cause speedometer error. You may go for 205/55 R16. With the same alloy, I would go for 195/55 R16 at max which is less than

What about 205/50r16??
The deviation in height this case will be very negligible which is good. But the width deviation is more than 10% which is going to drop the mileage drastically.

Less than 2 percent is suggested. With 2.5 percent, there is heavy chance of drop in mileage and speedometer in accuracy.

Yes, more that 2% may result into bumpier ride, suspension’s wear & tear and may even affect ABS. The risk isn’t worth it. Tyre upgrade is always over hyped. My suggestion will be if it’s really necessary, my suggestion will be upgrade in the suggested range depending on the car. :)
