I recently purchased the Sennheiser HD 620's and it does sound very open for a closed back, it stages really well, not being in your head, I own Sennheiser's other closed back HD 569 too and that has a very closed in your head sound, the HD 620's is definitely an upgrade with it's sound in terms of resolution, detail retrieval, imaging, soundstage and dynamics.
@@ReverendDr.Thomas Yes definitely, a very good closed back with an open sound without any of the drawback's of a closed back sounding in the head plus it has great clarity, which is something I always look for especially for vocals.
I was a bit sceptical when I bought them. They surprised me in a very positive way, though. Significantly better soundstage and imaging than my other closed back headphones (Beyerdynamic DT 1770 pro, Focal Celestee, Beyerdynamic T5 3rd gen, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro). Quite neutral and relaxed sound with a nice amount of detail. 4:20 Seeing how you wear the 620S, I think you should open up the headband up a little bit. They won't get loose and will not use sealing or even get better with it. I'm wearing glasses, too. My office glasses have a bigger, more "impactful" arms. To my surprise, this causes hardly any significant sealing issues. And yes, they get even more comfortable and a better seal, when worn in a bit. I am looking forward to your full review!
I want to love this headphone but I have the exact same issue with seal consistency around the bottom and back of the ear. I actually added tightly wound paper towel around the bottom half of the ear cup in between the pleather and the frame to try to even the pressure between the bottom and top of the ear cup. This helped me get some of the sub bass back that was lacking from the bad seal. It’s not perfect and I hope I find a better solution or the fit gets better with time because I love everything else about these headphones
It’s worthy of the 600 series name. However, it doesn’t have the special sauce that the 6XX (e.g.) has. The Focal Radiance is an upgrade, but it’s 3x the price. As a complement to an open 600, it’s definitely worthy. (Although I’ve never heard stuff like the Sony V6 or the DCA Aeon.)
Thanks for sharing your first impression and for taking these to the test. Special thanks to the friend who let you give them a try. Much appreciated!

@@ReverendDr.ThomasYes definitely, Sennheiser definitely has a winner with the HD 620's.
@@robertobuatti7226, you don't happen to work for Sennheiser, do you? 🙊

We're so glad to hear this. Thanks for sharing!
😂 his son definitely made this the YT vid of the year
I do have wire armed glasses, which solves a lot of cup sealing problems that most glasses get.
Open them a click and they do not get too loose; they fit better and distribute the weight more evenly.
Can you please clarify what you mean by opening them a click? I'm having trouble with the fit, so I'm asking genuinely.

neither of 6 series are fully open, in semi open category DT880 600Ω is a king
@@soulfulfool If 6XX is semi-open, this is just straight up closed. I got the chance to hear the Liric 2, and that might be semi-closed to my ears.
I’m pretty sure…but I seriously doubt I’ll be getting these…saving my money for a next tier headphone .
Professor, thank you for another wonderful headphone review! 👌
