Exactly, it’s just confidence. They have a LOT of faith in their film and that’s very much rare because some companies don’t usually do that unless they really love what they see.
And yes, it gives them more money and such in the process.

@@BluntMatcheteAstartes345fghew EXACTLY, almost some of the films over the years have been lazy cash grabs, but those films especially Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 shows that you can be passionate about said I.P. while making it mainstream for the general audience.

They had us in the first half, not gonna lie. It's pretty amazing how this movie went from being almost universally dreaded, (or at most, people were looking forward to seeing how bad it was, to being perhaps the most hyped up movie of the year. A couple trailers, an excellent marketing campaign, and the care and leadership of the property's parent company can certainly do wonders for the public opinion of a film. I have never been so excited for a Wednesday to arrive.
It's now at the height of beating the Spider-Verse's sequel at the box office, it's THAT GOOD
The reason people dreading it at first is because of the 80s live action super Mario bros movie it left a cursed/bad impression on people who are fans of the mario franchise because of that the movie bombed in the box office really badly but Nintendo made sure not to screw up this time and did everything possible to make sure this movie land a 💯 percent successfully they also got great support/help from illumination as well.

I hope it does well enough for Nintendo to maybe try getting illumination to sign on for a Star Fox movie.

Well let’s see if the Mario movie is a success or not so we can get more Nintendo movies!🤞😁
@@cloudedarctrooperdtq3532 I doubt that Star Fox would be their choice. I think they’ll make a Legend of Zelda or Kirby movie first as those two are the most profitable franchises that haven’t had a movie other than Mario. The only other big one that I can think of is Pokémon which has had the Detective Pikachu movie and has kept an anime running for 25 years, including several movies throughout.
I guess they wanted us to see how good the animation & references are. 😂

I get why they changed the release date to April 5th. Families have big plans during Easter weekend. And it’s true some of them might not have time to see this movie. But I’m gonna see it right away on that exact date it’s being released!

This must mean the film is already complete by now and they are confident enough with the film that they want audiences to see it earlier than it was announced. That should be a good sign
I think it's also to avoid spoilers. In France, it was delayed to April 5 too, but it was supposed to come out on 29th March so I think the goal is to release it at the same time everywhere.

I watched the 90s movie again two years ago (after having seen it first time as a kid) with a mindset of "think of it as a stand-alone, spin-off if sorts" and the movie isn't that bad as most people want it to appear to be.
Hoskins and Leguizamo portrayed the Bros as really likeable people who'd be nice to get to know with personally.
I don’t blame illumination and Nintendo for changing it’s release date by 2 days. That just shows how much hype the movie has and how everyone will be ready for it. I know I will. I can’t wait to see it.

If you like those games, that's great, but it's pretty much clear that they didn't have any more effort put into them than the upcoming Movie. If you view The Movie as Coporate Slop, then you might as well say the same about the NSMB games.

To be honest, it would have been better for the movie to come out on Friday instead of Wednesday.
Probably the reason for the change is Easter weekend. Families tend to have plans that weekend rather than going to the movies.

Sing 2 and Puss In Boots 2 came out the Wednesday before Christmas 2021 and 2022 respectively. And both were hits.
It was originally supposed to come out December 21st of last year but got delayed and so far it seems like the wait is worth it

I hope Illumination gets a massive W. Their films are usually not good, and they always get a lot of filler to pad out the runtime. I hope they at least made it as good as Despicable Me One. Maybe even better! Good video as always, Valskibum!
They can be genuinely good, it’s just that they realized they can put less effort and still make a bunch of money but with Nintendo breathing down their necks on this movie, I think it’ll at least be decent

This happened in the case of infinity war. I remember back then there was a poster that said it was going to be released on may but when I checked the date on it's release it said that this time they moved it early! I didn't knew movies industries could do that well depending on how well the movie is

Fact : In France, unfortunately, it's coming later, it was supposed to release march 28th but now it's releasing on the 5th of april.
My friend works at a cinema - and they were telling me their cinema is dressing up in Mario costumes 👀 No idea if this applies to all, but I am going to their cinema to see it so wahoo!
Also apparently according to the cinema staff, the new release window is due to all the hype for the movie. 😅

I actually forgot that April is next month, I remember when the first trailer came out and I was like “why does it have to be so long” and now it’s right around the corner.
I am actually extremely happy that they’re releasing two days earlier.
There’s going to be barely any kids, I checked with the school calendar and they’re not on vacation a week later. I am going early to see it (or very late if I can) on the day it’s released and watch it.

Sometimes family films comes out on a Wednesday before a holiday or when kids are on school breaks, so it’s understandable and not as surprising. Still excited!
This isn't the first time either.
For example, Encanto and Strange World came out the Wednesday before Thanksgiving 2021 and 2022 respectively.
And Sing 2 and Puss in Boots 2 came out the Wednesday before Christmas 2021 and 2022 respectively as well.

Because the headlines of the news, I thought that the film will be released early because they are ahead of schedule and the film is being completed faster than expected, which is rare in the film industry because usually movies are delayed.

This one feels like they seen the delays happening within other companies, and decided to just slap their Konkey Dong right on the table as a power move. Showing they have full confidence in their movie that they even pumped up the release date by 2 more days.

This is gonna be crazy
if i’m seeing only one movie this year, it’s going to be this one. well, maybe also the barbie movie. never thought that my childhood would ever resurface but now im getting major flashbacks to when i played mario kart wii and played with my barbie dream house when i was nine-ten years old.
At first I didn't really care about them moving up the release date because I knew if I was going to see it at all, it was probably going to be on Friday anyway because I don't have time to go to a movie on a school night, but then it hit me, *It comes out during spring break.*
