- The Super Mario Bros. Movie has a brand new plumbing commercial for Mario and Luigi's services, jam-packed with Mario references. Along with a theme song from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, we have a phone number with Charlie Day Luigi and a fun website that oozes with charm.
Nintendo and Illumination have been putting in a lot of effort in promoting The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and their new plumbing commercial, phone number, and website proves it. The references help in celebrating the Mario franchise from the very beginning, setting up a nostalgic adventure on the big screen.

Nintendo really went out of their way when it came to marketing. They know this movie is the biggest thing they've done, and are pulling out all the stops to make sure everyone knows it, and get fans hyped.

The Mario Movie has showed us how to properly market a movie
Every commercial has given us a new and interesting glimpse into the movie. Whether it be Donkey Kong’s voice or more into how the brothers got into the mushroom kingdom, this film has actually made me excited for an illumination feature
I feel like If there's one thing I had to select out of the multitude of things Nintendo is good at, it's making every trailer and every teaser worth watching to make you more hyped!

The fact that they made an ad as an ad for a movie with a fully functional website and phone number for this ad specifically, and each of these things is full of detail means that nintendo and illumination are really trying to make this movie great

The fact they got Princess Toadstool's original voice actress from Super Show to play the lady in the commercial is just the cherry on top of this beautiful homage.

It’s crazy to think how many people doubted this movie when it was first announced. Now I believe this and Spider-Man will be the best animated movie of the year!!!

The fact that their service isn’t super expensive, as the lady in the commercial said, is definitely very nice.
I love how they couldn't afford a professional actress.
Not only did we get this banger of a trailer, the fact that the Super Show was referenced by both Illumination and Nintendo is something I would’ve never expected in 2023. Plus the fact they have a working website and phone number based off this trailer alone is fantastic.
This is why never underestimate Mario fan that unironically enjoy Super Show in YTPs edits

Fun fact: In the error page, if you click on the 2nd pipe, the 3rd pipe, and then the 1st, you can hear the Super Mario Bros theme, but in an orchestra version. Maybe it might be in the movie.

When I was little, i almost exclusively watched the super Mario super show on Netflix and mario content on RUclips.
It feels like this commercial is targeting me specifically.
All my dreams are coming true.
I like the 'spiky bosses' line on the website. In context, they're just talking about bosses with spiky personalities. But also their previous boss they quit working for was Foreman Spike. But ALSO its referring to how literally spiky so many of the game bosses are, like Bowser and the Koopa Kids.
I can already imagine The Super Mario Bros. Movie becoming the highest grossing Illumination film ever! Seriously, the marketing is just astounding.
That's gonna be a tall order.
I think their highest grossing one is Rise of Gru, which made around $934 million worldwide.
In terms of quality, let's see if it tops Sing 2, which was far more quality than it had any right to be.

One thing you missed is that on the screen with the 3 pipes, each pipe plays a different version of the warp sound and if you click the pipes in order from left to right and you're fast enough, then you will hear a remixed version of the overworld theme
If you told me that Dreamworks animated this commercial, i would’ve believed in you. That shows how much Illumination has improved. I’m telling you, this Mario movie could be Illumination’s Spider-Verse.
Now I'm REALLY hyped for the Mario Brothers movie. At first, I feared that this was gonna be like the 1993 film starring Bob Hoskins (God rest his soul) and John Leguizamo but now I am REALLY excited to see this movie.
There are posters everywhere. This certainly has a lot of charm. And the Easter egg to the plumbing one was incredible
As if my partner and I weren't already sold on the movie for years now, this just added to the hype for us. The video, the website, the call in number and the cute texts with poster art, they know just what they're doing, and I'm ready for all of it.
This movie is gonna be fire! Can't wait to watch it!

Most marketing teams today don't usually come up with stuff like this all the time when promoting something huge, like whenever the next Avatar movie comes out or yet another Avengers movie. But not only it is nostalgic but this is what REAL marketing should look like in the near future.
The Marketing went all the way out with this one. The Posters look Awesome and The Plumbing Commercial right here is just absolutely so Amazing!
I've never been so happy with illumination's work, I'm actually proud of them as a company putting as much effort in as they actually are
After Sing 2, I respected them a *lot* more.
Sure they had some decent films before that one, but Sing 2 was more mature and deep than it had any right to be.

You can see how much love and care is being put into this movie and I absolutely can't wait to see the movie.
Man, the more that comes out about this movie the more excited I get. It's become very clear that a lot of genuine passion has been put into (almost) every aspect of it, and it's easily my third most anticipated movie for 2023. I'll be there opening night

This is the best marketing I've ever seen tbh
The fact they went to go far and beyond to make this commercial & website sounds like a marketing stunt found in dreams and I'm glad it isn't a dream.
The amount of love and passion put into the marketing for this movie shows that Nintendo really wants their mascot portrayed correctly on the big screen, compared to the '93 "film".
Seriously it's so refreshing especially coming from the two directors who made teen titans go of all things. It won't be perfect but I can confidently say I can expect a good movie. I did not think that at all when this all started because of who the directors were and to a lesser extent illumination.

The fact that Nintendo actually takes pride in their past is surprisingly unheard of in most big-time corporations. You only usually see that in SEGA and other competitors, but Nintendo took it a step further with the help of Illumination to make some of the best marketing I've seen in a really long time. Great going!

One thing I think you forgot to mention is how foreman Spike's review ends with, "they'll learn their lesson someday..." implying that HE might be part of the reason why the brothers end up in the mushroom and koopa kingdoms!

I may have walked away from Mario for awhile but this movie (I'm not counting Chris Pratt with his voice he uses on every other role he has) might bring me back because of how wonderful it looks and the Super Show references
