I spent 3 hours trying to clear the perfect run. When I finally made it to rosalina's island, I jumped off because I thought there was gravity and there was under the island. Then I died and cried for half an hour...
Something that makes The Perfect Run even more frustrating: there is exactly one Star Bit in the entire level, right at the beginning. Assuming you don't use it to kill some enemies later on, this is intended to serve as an in-game death counter.
I think champions road is much harder I’ve done perfect run 2 as I completed galaxy 2 in a week I think champions road is harder because we can’t use the spin which in the perfect run will help massively
I tried to complete it and I give up, some days I Re-tried and I still couldn't beat it. Then I remember one day I used the Giant Koopa 1-Up trick, farmed 99 one-ups and after two hours of pure concentration I completed SMG2 100%. And i think that last time I died 40/47 times, without counting the other tries. While in Super Mario 3D Land the last level give me problems, and a LOT, I think I died around 70/80 times, since I wanted to complete it with both Mario and Luigi (and because the first time I reached the end with Mario I activated the "Thank you" snail, but I was near to fall to the end endless pit of doom, so I jumped to the platform before the snail, the snails was already too far, so I waited a little bit but I realized it didn't come back so I had to re-do the whole level as Mario), so i guess TPR is more difficult since I had more difficulties to complete it with one character than W8-Crown with two characters. I -probably- definitely suck at this two game if I died so much times. However wow, I never thought about it this way, you are pretty smart to come up with this idea, it's like reading the thoughts of SMG2 developers, I guess you're right: the only utilize for that star bit is indeed a death counter.
I liked Tubular. Actually, World Special stood high above the rest as my favorite of Super Mario World because of the challenge. They were the most interesting ones in the game, and beating them made me feel like I had insane skills when my friends were never able to beat some of the levels.
The Perfect Run in Super Mario Galaxy 2 took me an entire summer to beat! and it also made me nearly quit the game multiple times since I kept raging after dying at the last boomerang brothers part. Beating it was the best feeling in the world for me

HyperSonic yeah its so easy that i lost hundreds of lives trying to beat it only to get hit by hammer bros at the last area, and it made me give up multiple times before finally getting lucky enough to beat it...
I actually consider the cloudy section of Darker Side one of the more relaxing parts of that level. If you're careful you can avoid triggering the laser circle things and just use Cappy to destroy those spiky things, changing position if needed, so definitely not as hard as the rest of the level.
This was fantastic, as all NB vids are, but TheJwittz made a really similar video with similar placements ages ago, im not saying this is better or worse, im stating that was a pretty good follow up to the god awful watchmojo list
For Champion’s Road, if you have extra Wii remotes, you can use them to have other characters join at the end to avoid having to repeat the level four more times.
When me and my brother where trying to beat champions road for the first time, we spent to much time in the dash panel segment, and when we where on the glass pipes that say ‘thank you!’ We ran out of time...
That reminds me of my time with the final level of 3d land at the final part where you just need to go with the yellow platform I thought you need to jump from one green platform to another and by that I died 4 times on an basically auto part

When I was young, the level in Sunshine where you have to get to the island with Yoshi to eliminate the barrier on the tunnel was hell. The poisoned water trying to ride on that leaf while collecting the red coins is something of actual nightmares.
The first time I reached to the end of that level I couldn't collect the 8 red coins (I always used to die midway), so I stupidly entered the pipe there thinking that it would take me back to the beginning of the level and retry but noooo, it took me back to delfino plaza forcing me to redo all the yoshi stuff again just to try the level again!! Damn, I hate that level!
The most challenging level on Odyssey for me was where Banzai Bill chases you, and you have to perfect jump over and over. You don't get Cappy, either.

I feel like Champion's Road should be harder than Special 8 Crown. I found the beat block, plant bounce, and sprint platform sections harder than anything in 8 Crown, because in 8 Crown it felt a lot easier to master each section.

Ah, The Perfect Run. Never have I felt such anger towards a video game. Yes, after couple of times of playing it, it isn't that bad, but like Nathaniel said, the pressure really gets to you...Not many things in video games make me do this, but that was one of those levels where after I'm done, I just put the game away and don't play it for a couple of days.
Shell jump jumps while theirs are hammer bros and fire bars and troll pipes doors and blocks and a million hammer bros and fire bars all over that flat
i like how he goes from a level from the lost levels with weird controls, bad graphics and bad design and really frustrating to a level from mario galaxy 2 which is harder but with much better controls, good level design and really fun to play

The Perfect run for me was difficult, but it didn’t take me that many tries to beat it. Last time I played this game I was like 8 or 9 years old. Idk how I managed to do it with such a small brain, but that’s all I can remember.

I really hate it when you're right at the end, especially if it's a level with rotating platforms or really tiny platforms and you try to land correctly on them and your characters slides off, especially if the controls already sometimes feel slippery. That's what gets my fur ruffled up!
Man, The Perfect Run haunted me for a decade. I got all the other 241 stars in like a year or so, but that last one is just pure evil. No matter how well I played, I never got further than killing two Boomerang Bros. But I knew I could pull it off if I just got some help, and a couple weeks ago I finally asked my older sister to use the Co-Star Luma. And after she joined in, it all came together. I still had to pull of some risky tactics so she could spin the Bros, though. And I think that’s a good thing, because it still feels like I earned that final Star!
The fact that I just beat Super Mario Galaxy's perfect run a few days ago when I've been trying to beat it for YEARS and this level getting a #2 on the list???? I'm so proud of myself 😁
The cloud segment is pretty easy if you time your jumps correctly. Also you need to use the laser ring things for this strategy and just let the lasers kill the spiky things
Pretty much all of these levels are optional, can you make a list for the hardest main levels you HAVE to complete to beat the game. Besides that, perfect list! 🤩
If you understand boat physics, Corona Mountain isn’t that hard. From sunshine I would say the goopy inferno. I would also say super mario bros 3 7-7 and world 8 airship would be on this list.
For me personally , Luigi’s Purple Coins from Galaxy 1, is much easier than Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos from Galaxy 2, because in the 1st one, you can skip up to 50 purple coins, and still collect enough to make the star appear, but the one in Galaxy 2 requires you to collect every single purple coin there is, plus you have several Cosmic Clones following your every move on top of that.
Quick Note: You can beat Tubular with a Cape and a BLUE Yoshi by jumping through the level until you reach a Paratroopa which you can eat and you can fly your way out.
I always thought perfect run was the hardest not based on design really just because you couldn't take any power ups from other levels like in other games, not to mention only getting 1 hit point throughout vs other games like oddesy which has a lot of health pick ups in the final level making it more forgiving

The Mario world level "tubular" began my ever burning hatred for charging chuck.
Tubular is one of my favorite SMW levels.
The Perfect Run did the same thing for me and Hammer Bros. I’m totally convinced that those particular Bros have twice the range.

Ah, The Perfect Run. Never have I felt such anger towards a video game. Yes, after couple of times of playing it, it isn't that bad, but like Nathaniel said, the pressure really gets to you...Not many things in video games make me do this, but that was one of those levels where after I'm done, I just put the game away and don't play it for a couple of days.
As someone who has done the perfect run I agree. The amount of times I died on the final section was enormous.
I've played the perfect run so many times that it became simple. It took me a few hours the first time.
I completed all the levels you listed. The Real challenge comes in Mario Maker in levels created by sadistic Japanese people.

From using different powerups, to Mario physics, to Mini Mario, and smashing my head on the wall nothing seems to be worked.
i just beat The Perfect Run for the first time. i started with 80 lives... and ended with 11. but i also grabbed the 1up in the cloud section a bunch of times
The Perfect run for me was difficult, but it didn’t take me that many tries to beat it. Last time I played this game I was like 8 or 9 years old. Idk how I managed to do it with such a small brain, but that’s all I can remember.

How it feels before you git gud.
I really hate it when you're right at the end, especially if it's a level with rotating platforms or really tiny platforms and you try to land correctly on them and your characters slides off, especially if the controls already sometimes feel slippery. That's what gets my fur ruffled up!

Man, The Perfect Run haunted me for a decade. I got all the other 241 stars in like a year or so, but that last one is just pure evil. No matter how well I played, I never got further than killing two Boomerang Bros. But I knew I could pull it off if I just got some help, and a couple weeks ago I finally asked my older sister to use the Co-Star Luma. And after she joined in, it all came together. I still had to pull of some risky tactics so she could spin the Bros, though. And I think that’s a good thing, because it still feels like I earned that final Star!
I wish my older sister was that nice, she doesn't even close the door when she leaves my room!

The cloud segment is pretty easy if you time your jumps correctly. Also you need to use the laser ring things for this strategy and just let the lasers kill the spiky things

If you understand boat physics, Corona Mountain isn’t that hard. From sunshine I would say the goopy inferno. I would also say super mario bros 3 7-7 and world 8 airship would be on this list.

For me personally , Luigi’s Purple Coins from Galaxy 1, is much easier than Luigi’s Purple Coin Chaos from Galaxy 2, because in the 1st one, you can skip up to 50 purple coins, and still collect enough to make the star appear, but the one in Galaxy 2 requires you to collect every single purple coin there is, plus you have several Cosmic Clones following your every move on top of that.

Oh my god! I remember trying to get all the star coins in 9-7. I had so many game overs!
Quick Note: You can beat Tubular with a Cape and a BLUE Yoshi by jumping through the level until you reach a Paratroopa which you can eat and you can fly your way out.

I always thought perfect run was the hardest not based on design really just because you couldn't take any power ups from other levels like in other games, not to mention only getting 1 hit point throughout vs other games like oddesy which has a lot of health pick ups in the final level making it more forgiving
