When you realize MARIO is missing isn’t on Nintendo Switch online Edit:Thanks for the likes and comments never been a top comment before but its probably gonna go away soon
Am I missing something here? The Lost Levels was Super Mario Bros 2 in Japan and seen as too difficult for the US/EU market, so the Super Mario Bros 2 that we now know was created.
When I first played Mario’s Time Machine, I was so confused. Those history lessons were way too hard for me, and the mushroom-collecting water place was confusing. Mario is Missing was also weird and boring. Putting Mario’s Time Machine on the list was a good choice. And yes, the Lost Levels is *perfect* for this list.
I have a feeling that Mario Party: The Top 100 was *rushed* to be completed for a Holiday released. That's why there's one board that feels like a test one, only 8 characters and lack of other modes.
Also for the Lost Levels, there was also a secret World 9 in between World 8-4 and World A-1, only accessible if you beat the game WITHOUT entering any warp zones. But even then outside of the special Japanese message at the end of World 9-4, World 9 wasn’t much special, especially since 98% of World 9 is underwater.
5:31 I love how he totallz ignored Poisonous Mushroom in SMM2. Honestly, The Lost Levels is not bad, its just hard. Thats it. You have to have some skills to beat it, and only now in the age where most games are made easier for the mainstream, a lot of people think its bad and unfair. Even though its just Suber Mario Bros. but harder.
i don't mind the poison mushroom (and wind physics) but i think bandy's other points are right. precise jumps (sometimes frame perfect mind you) and jumping around like an idiot searching for an invisible block precisely don't rely on player's skill. yes the lost levels is hard but for wrong reasons, that's why it's called unfair. having to clear the game 8 times just for 16 levels more doesn't help (it wouldn't in any other game anyways) sorry if the next statement sounds rude but you're lying by generalizing that games are made easier for the mainstream, they have just improved designs to be actually challenging and not frustrating. nes games often relied on cheap methods for simulating difficulty (i.e. lack of checkpoints, random enemy spawning), that's why the "nintendo hard" term exists for them and others
0:20 No Hotel Mario 0:26 Mario Party : The Top 100 2:27 Mario Party Advance 3:56 Mario Tennis Ultra Smash 4:49 Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels 6:56 Mario Pinball Land 8:20 Mario’s Tennis 9:12 Mario’s Early Years 10:12 Mario Is Missing! (NES) 11:15 Mario’s Time Machine

I like Sticker star Because it is the only one that I have and I pretty much enjoyed it alot when I was a little bit younger(I also have the original paper mario but that is digital and I used to have Super paper mario but I accidentaly Breaked it xd)
Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Mario Party Advance? Admittedly it really wasn't a Mario Party game, and I think if you approach it from a point of view as it's own game, it gets much more enjoyable. I really enjoyed the quests and meeting everyone in the town on the game's board. I'd gladly play that game again :)
For me including the ones not on Nintendo consoles: 10: Paper Mario: Sticker Star 9: Mario's Game Gallery 8: Mario Teaches Typing 2 7: Hotel Mario 6: Mario's Early Years: Fun with Letters 5: Mario's Early Years: Fun with Numbers 4: Mario's Early Years: Preschool Fun 3: Mario's Time Machine 2: Mario Is Missing 1: Mario Teaches Typing
SM2/the lost levels is actually kinda fun if your into a kaizo type challenge, sure it’s basically the Dark Souls of the Mario series but it’s definitely worth a shot if you want if you really want to test your skills
Dark souls has a "rythym". Every death is a lesson that teaches you what not to do. Lost levels is random invisible blocks and enemies. But Dark souls 2 as shaded woods which is bullcrap
The intense difficulty is kind of the whole point of the Lost levels/Mario 2 though, and was marketed as such in Japan. It was originally a famicom disk system game and I wouldn't really consider it to be a "true" sequel.
6:08 there is no end scene either, after level 99 it goes back to level 1 (they most likely assumed no one would beat the game, or there was no space for end scene)
I have a ton of fond memories playing Mario’s Time Machine on regular Nintendo with my brother. We always thought it was fun trying to match things up and it was a bunch of trial and error. I have a feeling that Mario Party: The Top 100 was *rushed* to be completed for a Holiday released. That's why there's one board that feels like a test one, only 8 characters and lack of other modes.
The rare moment when the Best list outperforms the Worst list.
0:19 nice of Nathaniel Bandy to exclude us from this video, ey luigi? "I hope he gets crap in his spagetti!!!"
Luigi look!
It’s from Nathaniel!
I'm surprised Sticker Star wasn't on the list.

Gaming Inkling honestly I never thought Sticker Star was ever that bad

A. Did you mean Toad?
B. Its likely on an Emu (Who would want a Virtual Boy) so theres gonna be glitches

I actually own it. The card game itself used to be a lot of fun to play with friends.
I was forced to play Mario’s time machine that makes me sad 😢
I'm sorry for your loss (of time)
2:09
Did you just predict Mario Party Superstars?!
No
Also for the Lost Levels, there was also a secret World 9 in between World 8-4 and World A-1, only accessible if you beat the game WITHOUT entering any warp zones.
Even though its just Suber Mario Bros. but harder.
Not like SM3DL had poison mushrooms or anything...
Lost Levels was the game that invented the Poison Mushrooms though, so power-ups that hurt you was this game‘s bright idea.
i don't mind the poison mushroom (and wind physics) but i think bandy's other points are right. precise jumps (sometimes frame perfect mind you) and jumping around like an idiot searching for an invisible block precisely don't rely on player's skill. yes the lost levels is hard but for wrong reasons, that's why it's called unfair. having to clear the game 8 times just for 16 levels more doesn't help (it wouldn't in any other game anyways)
sorry if the next statement sounds rude but you're lying by generalizing that games are made easier for the mainstream, they have just improved designs to be actually challenging and not frustrating. nes games often relied on cheap methods for simulating difficulty (i.e. lack of checkpoints, random enemy spawning), that's why the "nintendo hard" term exists for them and others
No because the level design is not good and they didn’t improve anything
why tho
0:20 No Hotel Mario
0:26 Mario Party : The Top 100
2:27 Mario Party Advance
3:56 Mario Tennis Ultra Smash
4:49 Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels
6:56 Mario Pinball Land
8:20 Mario’s Tennis
9:12 Mario’s Early Years
10:12 Mario Is Missing! (NES)
11:15 Mario’s Time Machine
Mario Party Advanced is absolutely amazing, it's so nostalgic and the characters are witty and charming! My very first Mario game ❤
*this comment has been censored by the FBI*
OrigamiMario yeah but like i said in a comment “it took the party out of Mario party “
"So That Means No Hotel Mario"
*Becuase Its Obvious Where THAT Would Land...*
Yeah. Not even on the list.
That ga me isn't too bad if you ignore the cutscenes
Grant Konop, the cutscenes is the best part!
It would land on best Mario game ever
5:26 if you didn’t know the person making the power ups was very depressed at this time in his life and he made that so that shouldn’t have been counted.
Source?
Hey at least all ten games are better than that movie from the 90s.
Nathaniel Bandy: striving for originality
Also Nathanial Bandy: top 10 worst mario games
Tbf, a lot of RUclipsrs wouldn't do this list as they wouldn't be of the opinion that there are 10 bad Mario games/franchises
8:50 something tells me the depth perception wasn’t a problem on the original hardware.
My twin and i played The Lost Levels because we were at my dad’s friend’s house and it was 12:30am so we had nothing except a wii and we had some fun
Sticker star isn't a bad game, it's just a bad paper Mario game. (I think its an ok game paper Mario or not but I digress)
I like Sticker star Because it is the only one that I have and I pretty much enjoyed it alot when I was a little bit younger(I also have the original paper mario but that is digital and I used to have Super paper mario but I accidentaly Breaked it xd)
Someone actually with braincells, my kind of people
And I almost forgot that I have Color splash too xd
I think Sticker Star is a guilty pleasure.
2:23 i tought it was going to be mario party ds i love that mario party its nostalgic and i loved playing it
7:27 "It's Spherical, SPHERICAL!"
Am I the only one who actually enjoyed Mario Party Advance? Admittedly it really wasn't a Mario Party game, and I think if you approach it from a point of view as it's own game, it gets much more enjoyable. I really enjoyed the quests and meeting everyone in the town on the game's board. I'd gladly play that game again :)
i loved it
I enjoyed it
Virtual Boy Console Fun Fact: Nintendo used monochrome instead of full color because full color would make Virtual Boy so expensive.
I’m surprised a main series Mario game is on here, but The Lost Levels isn’t that good imo. Still nice video
Koopa Klub cool, I don’t hate it but it is definitely my least favorite main series game
Koopa Klub ok
Koopa Klub cool

Well in this case the versions that you said are the best because they are shorter so the suffering stops a bit earlier
When I saw the Nintendo thing for the ds, I thought he was going to say New Super Mario Bros DS, I got scared
I can’t unhear “declathon”.
4:50 - that's why Nintendo of Japan didn't bring SMTLL to america at the time 😝
I'm happy we got a much better sequel! That also helped with Mario's success outside Japan
For me including the ones not on Nintendo consoles:
10: Paper Mario: Sticker Star
9: Mario's Game Gallery
8: Mario Teaches Typing 2
7: Hotel Mario
6: Mario's Early Years: Fun with Letters
5: Mario's Early Years: Fun with Numbers
4: Mario's Early Years: Preschool Fun
3: Mario's Time Machine
2: Mario Is Missing
1: Mario Teaches Typing
No NSMB2. respect.
@@pyroshrimp4073 The original Super Mario Bros. game doesn't tell you what you need to do either? 🤨

It's 2020 and I STILL see the Nintendo and Hudson logos and think "my mans did NOT put Mario Party DS on here"
2021 and I still think this...lol
The only good thing about Mario's tennis is the sprites glitching when you are away.
The intense difficulty is kind of the whole point of the Lost levels/Mario 2 though, and was marketed as such in Japan. It was originally a famicom disk system game and I wouldn't really consider it to be a "true" sequel.
@Chuck Buskee No Mario game is worth anyones time though
I’m glad i’ve never played any of these games (except for the Lost Levels)

I have a ton of fond memories playing Mario’s Time Machine on regular Nintendo with my brother. We always thought it was fun trying to match things up and it was a bunch of trial and error. You had to choose the item you’d take with you prior to entering the level and oh yeah my favorite was not knowing where to take the items even when you’re in the right level. Lol
