In his new regeneration cycle the master has used 3 bodies: Derek Jackoby, Jon Simm & Michelle Gomez so the master has at leat 10 regenerations left in the new cycle. I know Moffat put the 'don't try to regenerate' line in the doctor falls but in the classic series the master would always get killed then come back it is kind of an ongoing doctor who joke.
Look, it doesn't even matter that the Doctor won't ever know that Missy changed. The satisfaction and happiness from knowing would have been a reward, right? The Doctor tried to change her because it was the decent thing to do, *without hope* and *without reward*. Missy changed without hope or reward (in fact she was rewarded with death, and certainly she had no hope to survive the battle), but, most importantly, *without witness*. That's the whole point, isn't it?

It shows how much Missy matured beyond the 'pure evil' and 'control freak nonsense' of her younger self 'Harold Saxon.' There were times in earlier episodes of Doctor Who when the Master was an ally to the Doctor. Perhaps they both became too old and needed to be friends again. Well done in portraying this.
Personally, I think, just how the various Doctors can still be "The Doctor" but have different personalities, I think the Saxon Master was really just BatCrap insane.
Ironic they replaced 12 with 13 so they could have a 'strong female main character' when they had Missy. Then they killed her and replace her with a male clown.And no, 13th doctor isnt a strong role model either.

Watching this after the Master just came back (again) both saddens me and infuriates me. Saddens because it means Missy is really gone and infuriates me because it means they went back to being evil, effectively undoing all that growth.
I think it's ok, it's good to keep the ambiguity in their relationship because it's always something they can be creative with to come up with interesting story arcs aroung the Doctor and the Master! Especially as that previous reply says, it isn't clear where Sacha's incarnation stands in the timeline, so it's fine in my opinion!
The Master is one of the greatest characters in new who. Every step The Doctor took, led to them. Everything before the season 3 finale during season 3, was foreshadowing their take-over, the vote saxon posters, The face of boe's final words, all of it. Season 4; the foreshadowing wasnt there, but audiences familiar with old who KNEW they had to be back some how. And they were. Season 8 (9? Its a little fuzzy) and 10; had similar treatment to season 4. It was a shock to the system. In conclusion, i love the master, thanks for listening to my TED talk. Actually she said she can't remember how she regenerated. So she couldn't have known that Missy killed her before she regenerated to become Missy. And it makes sense that she didn't know she would be killed by the Master for the same reason. It's a paradox. Their memories were wiped out, like that of the War Doctor and the 10th Doctor.
I think in the same way how Missy remembers when some scary lady pushed him (Simms) against the wall & how she remembered that part for their TARDIS because of the encounter, it will be used in the same way to show that Missy changed the Master's blaster from Full Blast Mode to Non-Full Blast mode. The Master has done various nasty things to other incarnations of themselves several times now.
though to show, this how doctor goes, i really would like to see a fanfiction an alternate universe where they travelled the galaxies together i guess. Most important of all, master wouldn't be a cruel and doctor wouldn't have to lose everyone he meets.
maybe is it possible we2ll se them together even if it might change one day again. Just those really happy moments of them having travelling the galaxy and end up on high place looking at the stars at night for us viewers. That would be good. this relationship of theirs is good.

I didn't think much of it back when I originally watched Season 10, but I love how Missy's hair gets more and more frazzled the longer she spends in the vault, the more she changes, as she starts to doubt everything she's ever been.

damn this season got so good. For the past few years I have been saying that they need to kill off an enemy of Doctor who and when I say kill off I mean really destroy one never to return because I feel Doctor Who really needs that. I know that the Daleks would never be chosen for this and that certain races like the Cyberman can never really be removed because they just come back but one of the many enemies do need to be wiped out by the Doctor and what ever allies he has at the time (either intended or by some clever plot) to really shake the show up and to show no one is untouchable, this is why shows like game of thrones and walking dead can be popular because anyone can die. If they have done this with the Master/Missy and they never return then wow never thought the Master/Missy would be the target of that but fair enough BUT I really wanted to see a good Missy and Doctor duo exploring around :( annnnnnnnnnnnnd GREAT VIDEO!

I saw a theory that said that when Missy grabbed his hand in the Doctor Falls before she left with Simm's Master, she pressed the knife into his hand, so that he knew what she was going to do. Lovely video!
It's sad, Missy allowed the Master's emotional state to open, the Master's inner loneliness and longing for their first friend seeps through, we've seen the Doctor want their friend back and they were so close to a breakthrough. It's just a shame history always catches up..
Its really sad that todays Master is so far away from Missy, I would have loved both of them uniting. For me doctor who ended with twelve, it was perfect the way it ended, worthy a timelords death.
The Doctor's and Master's/Missy's relationship is so complex but I believe it is safe to say that when Missy was around she saw how important the doctor is because if she didn't show the doctor how bad she is then the doctor might so they play the villain because they know what would happen when the doctor stops being the doctor

Anyone else just want a season of Dr Who where the Master/Missy are actually on the same side and not possibly betraying each other? I know the last season of Capaldi had some of that, but it would be interesting.
Am I only one upset that John Simm The Master left as enemy of the Doctor? I thought he will, instead of "face of a man who did not listen to a word you just said" say to the doctor "This is the face of a man who wherever and whenever he was accomplished something, even in defeat. There is nothing to be accomplished here and I don't care about these people. But since I care about you, my foolish friend, I will wait five minutes at the elevator for you. Five minutes, not a second more. Come on, Missy!" And then he would be and Missy both be killed by Cybermen after they separate with him getting out of the elevator and she trying to reach The Doctor. Even Tennant had more friendship on screen with Simm than Capaldi and after whole season of Capaldi/Gomez friendship I hoped to see at least little Capaldi/Simm friendship. Instead we got Simm who is evil for Evil's sake and that just kills me. After all as I understood him, Master wanted to rule because he liked being in control and thought he could do better than all the morons around him. All his actions were directed towards that gathering of power and he failed time and time again because he did not bother understanding those he ruled over. At least that is my take on his character. Still it was lovely to see Mr. Simm back for those two episodes and he was fabulous in them. Just as I said the way he refused to help the Doctor was unsatisfying to me. I love your videos the choice of music and the quotes are so inspired. And inspiring.
Somehow, I still wonder if this was actually the end. I said when it was revealed that the Doctor was the last of the Time Lords, that the Master was like a bad penny and always turned up. He did. Missy remembered everything else about the meeting with the Master, is it possible she had a way out that took longer than expected? I would never be surprised.
coming back to this vid now and wondering if chibnall is... going to ignore the amazing thing that was 12 and missy. really don't want that but this new master returning needs some more depth and i haven't seen it yet (sacha is such a great master im not saying that he isn't). I'll wait until the end of the season to see what is even happening, with all this burning gallifrey/timeless child stuff, and the whole time I'll be hoping that missy and 12 wasn't all for nothing :(
With the bombshell of s12e5... Im starting to feel whatever the master was telling the doctor is going to really uproot the past not the future... I highly doubt this Incarnation of the Master is the post Missy one and that other spoiler ep 5.. As long as Who is cannon about how the doctor works, its not possible what happens in episode 5. So it really does come down to that line from the master "Everything you think you know is a lie" line from Spyfall 2... Edit: Missy does say in time and well enough that she forgets how long its been since she was john Simm. Perhaps Sacha would then fall between them and Simm's hate would eventually burn out over time until he became Missy and had his face turn? I don't know lol. Theorizing is really fun though.

I feel sorry for Master/Missy, I’m away, they were always there for the doctor but also how the master tries to help the doctor in their own way also that the master tries to get help in away as he desperately tries to be good but it’s also the sounds of the drums that makes the master lose it. I wish the master/missy will be friends with the doctor again, I wish the master will come back to stand with the doctor, one, more, time.
I love both missy and the master. But I have to chose john and David because there are so many scenes where the keep switching between best friends and worst enemies.
The doctor said in Heaven Sent, the Doctor says that Time Lords take forever to die, so they like to die with their own people so they know not to bury the body too early. Maybe Missy survives for a while and calls back the lift or something and that's why we don't see The Master regenerate, because it lets us see that she survives a little longer. Idk, maybe it will all be answered in the Christmas special
I loved Missy and let's be honest she could have survived that easily enough. The person who killed her was her PAST incarnation. And every incarnation of the Master is a genius on the level of the Doctor. Missy could easily have remembered enough to be prepared for this. She remembered enough that earlier she had an extra part they needed to fix the Master's TARDIS. Missy could well be back.

I saw a theory that said that when Missy grabbed his hand in the Doctor Falls before she left with Simm's Master, she pressed the knife into his hand, so that he knew what she was going to do. Lovely video!

It's sad, Missy allowed the Master's emotional state to open, the Master's inner loneliness and longing for their first friend seeps through, we've seen the Doctor want their friend back and they were so close to a breakthrough. It's just a shame history always catches up..

Its really sad that todays Master is so far away from Missy, I would have loved both of them uniting. For me doctor who ended with twelve, it was perfect the way it ended, worthy a timelords death.

The Doctor's and Master's/Missy's relationship is so complex but I believe it is safe to say that when Missy was around she saw how important the doctor is because if she didn't show the doctor how bad she is then the doctor might so they play the villain because they know what would happen when the doctor stops being the doctor

This is not important, but I had 280 videos in watch later and decided to let this one at the end because 1.they are my biggest otp and 2. I knew you are a brilliant editor and I wasn't disspointed. I think you already know what I'm going to say, but 'I need to say it, the truth': thank you for another masterpiece, this is truly one of the best videos for Docto and Master. You have a talent of putting in the best scenes and songs and it's so complex. I love it!
Anyone else just want a season of Dr Who where the Master/Missy are actually on the same side and not possibly betraying each other? I know the last season of Capaldi had some of that, but it would be interesting.

Am I only one upset that John Simm The Master left as enemy of the Doctor? I thought he will, instead of "face of a man who did not listen to a word you just said" say to the doctor "This is the face of a man who wherever and whenever he was accomplished something, even in defeat. There is nothing to be accomplished here and I don't care about these people. But since I care about you, my foolish friend, I will wait five minutes at the elevator for you. Five minutes, not a second more. Come on, Missy!" And then he would be and Missy both be killed by Cybermen after they separate with him getting out of the elevator and she trying to reach The Doctor.
Even Tennant had more friendship on screen with Simm than Capaldi and after whole season of Capaldi/Gomez friendship I hoped to see at least little Capaldi/Simm friendship. Instead we got Simm who is evil for Evil's sake and that just kills me. After all as I understood him, Master wanted to rule because he liked being in control and thought he could do better than all the morons around him. All his actions were directed towards that gathering of power and he failed time and time again because he did not bother understanding those he ruled over. At least that is my take on his character.
Still it was lovely to see Mr. Simm back for those two episodes and he was fabulous in them. Just as I said the way he refused to help the Doctor was unsatisfying to me.

Somehow, I still wonder if this was actually the end. I said when it was revealed that the Doctor was the last of the Time Lords, that the Master was like a bad penny and always turned up. He did. Missy remembered everything else about the meeting with the Master, is it possible she had a way out that took longer than expected? I would never be surprised.
The Doctor Falls would have been a fantastic ending to the show!
coming back to this vid now and wondering if chibnall is... going to ignore the amazing thing that was 12 and missy. really don't want that but this new master returning needs some more depth and i haven't seen it yet (sacha is such a great master im not saying that he isn't). I'll wait until the end of the season to see what is even happening, with all this burning gallifrey/timeless child stuff, and the whole time I'll be hoping that missy and 12 wasn't all for nothing :(
With the bombshell of s12e5... Im starting to feel whatever the master was telling the doctor is going to really uproot the past not the future...
I highly doubt this Incarnation of the Master is the post Missy one and that other spoiler ep 5.. As long as Who is cannon about how the doctor works, its not possible what happens in episode 5. So it really does come down to that line from the master "Everything you think you know is a lie" line from Spyfall 2...
Edit: Missy does say in time and well enough that she forgets how long its been since she was john Simm. Perhaps Sacha would then fall between them and Simm's hate would eventually burn out over time until he became Missy and had his face turn?

I feel sorry for Master/Missy, I’m away, they were always there for the doctor but also how the master tries to help the doctor in their own way also that the master tries to get help in away as he desperately tries to be good but it’s also the sounds of the drums that makes the master lose it.
I wish the master/missy will be friends with the doctor again, I wish the master will come back to stand with the doctor, one, more, time.

The doctor said in Heaven Sent, the Doctor says that Time Lords take forever to die, so they like to die with their own people so they know not to bury the body too early. Maybe Missy survives for a while and calls back the lift or something and that's why we don't see The Master regenerate, because it lets us see that she survives a little longer. Idk, maybe it will all be answered in the Christmas special

I loved Missy and let's be honest she could have survived that easily enough. The person who killed her was her PAST incarnation. And every incarnation of the Master is a genius on the level of the Doctor. Missy could easily have remembered enough to be prepared for this. She remembered enough that earlier she had an extra part they needed to fix the Master's TARDIS. Missy could well be back.
