    This is ridiculous…. They should punish who ever is responsible for raising the rents…. Because that’s why there is a lot of people living in the streets…. Because rents are extremely high no one can afford to rent a decent place anymore…every year they raise the rent 10% honestly I am worried to end up living in the street….for not being able to afford my rent because there’s no control over it…

    While I think that tent cities do more harm than good and don't think people, homeless or otherwise, should be allowed to camp in places intended for the general use of the public, punishing the homeless is completely pointless. There is no rehabilitation or compensation of any kind for either side of the issue.

    Every time they go into a store to buy that beer or when someone gives us money for a bag of chips we have to pay taxes like everyone else on those products. @@jimmyjames6487 so I’m in California but since Oregon is the venue this article mentioned people living in vehicles and Oregon has a 40 cent tax on the gallon on gasoline am I right? The point is tax is for public welfare in all forms and public spaces are to be utilized by the public when needed or did they stop being American citizens as well? What do you mean try again? That’s the extent of your social feedback? Get rekt lol,…..

    we clearly have a nationwide homeless problem we need to solve but we can't let our public spaces fill up with tents of the homeless either. gotta solve this problem at the root, because punishing homeless people isn't going to do anything except make it worse bc with a record they will have less chances of finding housing

    One thing I find annoying in the USA is, every little alphabet in a word has to be debated over and over. It's like trying to find a way out through the horn of an ox. So time wasting. Being homeless is not a crime of course, but trashing and creating fire and health hazards in the public space or near schools and libraries are obviously illegal. Being homeless and engaging in illegal acts are two different things. What don't people understand in America? Why does this even have to go to the Supreme Court?

  • @AnthonyCna
    @AnthonyCna 10 дней назад +4

    The really ridiculous part of this is that homeless people are literally a market in America rn. The open air drug market in the dense urban centers worsening pushes homeowners in the area to move and sell their homes if able. Then the large housing companies buy the land and build crappy overpriced apartments and gentrify the area. There are also construction companies that offer 'encampment clearing'. The state governments will pay these companies large sums to forcible remove both the homeless camps and the homeless. Last year multiple state governments paid over 100 million dollars to clear homeless encampments. They literally are paying to move the homeless, but won't work on real solutions with that same money.

      @jason200912 I'm sure it probably depends on the city and/or state you live in, too. I used to work for DHS. Quite often, most of the resources (government offices that supply the services, city rescue mission, transportation vouchers, etc.) are closest to or in the downtown areas. But I also realize the size of the city matters as well. Larger cities have district offices that citizens are assigned to. But if you're homeless, you're most likely assigned to a location closer to downtown in my experience, at least.

    If this is an allegedly “Christian” nation; then why not live up to the standards, principles, and expectations of Jesus!
    Matt. 25:31-40 ““When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
    “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, “I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
    “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
    “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
