    Awesome video Andrew. I've ordered a FishPro Trophy and will be getting it in March\April. Something that I'm unable to get any info on is the depth which the standard GT15 transducer will scan. What is the deepest which you scanned clearly?
    Garmin docs state that you can get 1900ft in fresh water which seems like quite a lot for a 600w transducer.

      @jetskifishing  2 года назад +2

    Great video Andrew...I notice you didn't mention the IDF option that has been an issue on the Seadoos. What do you think of IDF? Is it needed in NZ? Also... I had an earlier FXHO kitted for fishing, and have been told that the Yamys handle bigger sea's better than the Seadoo?...I'm looking at buying a Fishpro and am interested to hear your spin on my queries...cheers

    • @jetskifishing
      @jetskifishing  2 года назад +3

      I apologise for missing the iDF option. Regardless of where you use the Trophy around the world there is a chance you could need it one day… I was fishing the other day and when I was heading out through the surf/breakers in shallow water I sucked up a massive clump of seaweed. It caused the Fish PRO to loose most of its power, I thought it was my day over and I would be needing to put it back on the trailer to resolve! Instead I initiated the iDF process and followed each of the automated steps on the dash display, after a couple of attempts I managed to free the weed and could operate the Trophy with full power again 👍 This feature is going to be very helpful for Jetskifisherman throughout the world (the point you mention I expect is the old reports and since been resolved for all 2022 units)
      I don’t know who mentioned other models handle bigger seas better? In my experience the FISH PRO ST3 hull is the best offshore hull I have ridden to date, plus much more stable than any other units (I and many avid fisherman have ridden most brands and models to appreciate the benefits of ST3. Over the earlier years I experienced many models, but have only fished off Sea-Doo over the last 8 years)
      The best way to make the right choice for you is to actually ride one for yourself and experience how great the latest Sea-Doo hull rides. Not many who give advice saying one is better than the other have actually ridden the specific models in a fishing environment! Another thing to consider is the convenient easy access/under handle bar storage on the FISH PRO, it’s a game changer for fishers, no more struggles reaching over the handle bars to access your gear.
      All the best with your interest in getting back into the sport, I expect you will be impressed with the overall packa age of a FISH PRO Sport or Trophy for your next adventures 👍

    Been wondering how best to clean and protect the engine. So I can feel safe spraying the engine bay down with water and then a sealing lubricant? And leave the seat off every time I store it in my garage? Really don't want any thing to corrode or break down in there, as my ski will be 100% salt use. Thanks!

    • @jetskifishing
      @jetskifishing  2 года назад +2

      Hi Kristian, not a lot of water gains access inside the hull of the ST3, it is the driest hull of have ridden to date. Sam discusses in this video a few recommendations such as a slight mist spray with your hose and then use marine lubricants to spray and metal components that look like they are being effected by salt. The other thing to do is leave your seats off when the unit is not being used to have it breath and avoid condensation and mould…
