    Thanks for that 😊. I had two jetski rides in the last few days and I love it, certainly can see the benefits of lager craft which I've owned in my lifetime. Yea the the fish pro tuggs at me eventho my brothers 2018 wakepro at a good price is also winking at me. It's Sunday here in Wanaka, NZ, tomorrow I'll go to the dealer here to check out the options. Once again, great channel for information ❤😊

    This is really really cool. I've done a lot of fishing from many non-normal or convenient things. It takes a lot of thought and this looks really nice. I did some fishing recently off a tiny zxi 750 in rough conditions and it's a challenge.. tied a smaller cooler right on the back but I was able to get out there and catch some big ol red drums. You can get out there for cheap if you're crafty

    Hi, good all round video. I live in the UK and have just had delivery of my Fish Pro Trophy. I fish for Sea Bass in the Menai Straits that separate Anglesey from the mainland. It is said to be one of the most treacherous waterways in the UK( As said by Lord Nelson)It has a vast of rocks, very strong currents and riptides as it floods from both ends and can be quite rough when wind and tides are against each other, so I hope the Fish Pro is up for the challenge. I usually fish with live Sand Eels so the live bait-well is an added bonus for me, as previously on my rib I had to have pumps,batteries & Large containers to keep them alive. I have just fitted the Megaware KeelGuard to the hull to offer a bit more protection to the gel coat as I launch off a concrete slip. Looking forward to getting it out on the water.

      If you are in the UK you will not have the swivel chair on your Trophy. Have you worked out how to get one aftermarket yet? I am buying a Trophy next week but am disappointed we can't get the swivel seat over here.

    • @glynthomas8492
      @glynthomas8492 Год назад

      Hi, no I have not looked at getting the swivel seat, where I fish it would not be practical. I usually fish on the drift with live sand eels, so l am constantly on the move. I have had to have a new impeller and wear ring already, sucked up some weed that had a stone in it, smashing the impeller. Today I had to use the IDF system again to flush out weed, luckily no stones.

    theres a guy with one of these where we fish the backwaters, he explained to us he hasnt had much luck catching reds or snook, and that was during snook season and when reds are chewing hard...on days we were
    killing it, he couldnt buy a bite....turns out its so loud just idling into the area where the fish are spooks it for a couple hours, definitely a crafty ride but probably best for places where any sort of stealth isnt a priority

    I’ve been super interested in one of these. Like you, I’m on the Texas coast. I want to see you push this thing shallow searching for reds. I know it states the alarm will sound at less than 3 feet of depth but if I see you pushing this thing close to a foot or so depth and not sucking up sand/silt from the bottom, I’m pulling the trigger on one.

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  2 года назад +3

      It will float and pole that shallow. I already turned off the shallow water alarm haha. But running the motor that shallow will pull up silt/sand. That’s why I plan to put a trolling motor on it. Also if I’m that shallow I can just hop out and wade if it’s a hand enough bottom.

      What it seems is that the seat has to be up for the back rest to fully drop into it but I will need to do more playing around with it. The other thing about having the seat back out is that it gives me wayy easier access to spin around and get into the cooler

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  2 года назад +2

      Just from me trying it seems to be that the seat needs to be raised for the back of the seat to go in properly. The seadoo recognizes the seat is up when you put the metal seat post into the ski which then limits you to the 20mph

    Did you consider a Yamaha fx with deck extension ? I currently have a 22’ bay boat but looking for something to launch quickly and just go fishing in by myself. I was considering a jet ski such as the trophy or Yamaha, or the soloskiff or true kit 3.3. Also in the clear lake/galveston area - thoughts ?

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  Год назад +1

      Each platform has its own pros and cons for each style of fishing. I got the fish pro to primarily go offshore on also pwc’s are just so fun to go for a ride on and if you want you can have a passenger. Solo skiff awesome shallow water marsh fisher but open water with some wind and you are going to get wet, also you will be the only person taking it out. . Downfall with both of those platforms in deeper water you have to anchor vs just throwing out the trolling motor and hitting spot lock. I say just get out and fish more in the boat you have now and if you don’t have a spot lock trolling motor get one cause having to anchor a bay boat is work with spot lock you just pull up to spot drop trolling motor hit button and you are good. Makes fishing solo way easier. I do miss getting way back in the mud on the solo skiff/kayak though.

    • @matthewdickson2627
      @matthewdickson2627 Год назад

      @@KagenFishing thanks! I had spot lock on my last boat and loved it. My current boat has a trolling motor but no spot lock. I had a slip way back in clear lake, but found all the fishing so far away which led me to look at other platforms so I could just roll it into the water. Most launches are crazy busy and usually it is just me launching and going on the boat. I was even tempest by those inflatable dinghies like true kit and takacat with wheels to launch by the side of the road. I need to find more places in the area to fish :) !

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  Год назад

      I say yes. Is everything corrosion proof? No. But the great thing about the fish pro is that it uses internal coolant that circulates through motor and is cooled by a grate under the ski by the water. So no salt water goes into engine. The only thing is to just keep up with flushing impeller and other regular maintenance.

    You need to watch other videos where people ocean fish all the time from these Seadoos. I am going to buy one for fresh and saltwater fishing and to scuba dive from in the golf to look for shark teeth.

      If you check out my other videos I finally had a weather window where I was able to run out 34 miles into the gulf to snapper fish.

      That seems to be the one major setback. I cant see anchoring on a reef in 50ft of water with the little grapple anchor. An anchor pin would be nice for the shallows.

      Haha that would be insane but the amount of power this thing already has is still nuts and then my range would be reduced dramatically which isn’t appealing.

      With today's technologies the computers can be adjusted to run on different levels of power it can run on 170 hp 200hp or 300 hp for the amount of MONEY they cost I rather have it with bigger motor.

    You really need to be able to add a minnkota trolling motor soyou can spot lock over fish. Or at least to be able to anchor in deepwater say 60 metres over hard Reef. What's that piss ant little anchor that's not going to work. Yeah looks like a fun little machine but still needs a lot of work. I would love to get but without the ability to spot lock or anchor in deep water in the ocean is deal breaker.

      Yah for sure makes catching snapper over a little reef hard but luckily in Texas there are plenty of rigs to tie up to and there have been plenty of guys down here smashing big snapper on them. I love it for blasting around inshore.

    Where are the nav lights on this thing? Oh yeah, right, there aren't any because operating a jet ski at night is illegal just about everywhere. So you spend $25k on a rig that you can't use after dark. That's a shame because it's awesome otherwise.

  • @TheMuddatrucker
    @TheMuddatrucker 5 месяцев назад

    If your impeller ever sucks up something it shouldn’t, then you know you can clear it yourself right?
    The ski needs to be flipped over which is dead easy, you just need to climb up onto hull and cut away the blockage….. if it takes 2,3,4 hours that’s normal and should be taken as a lesson to never do the same thing again.

    Fish pro needs more horsepower, 230 to 300 horsepower

    • @KagenFishing
      @KagenFishing  Год назад

      I disagree it gets up quick and runs at 55mph which is plenty fast for me also is economical giving you a further range on a tank. This was built for fishing not racing. A bigger motor would just burn more gas lowering range
