    I googled this because I wanted to make a little story and illustrations about astronauts using tanks with plants that would generate oxygen for them. Now I know that in a sci fi setting, it could be possible! Thanks!

    Or we could replace our very inefficient lungs with bio-mechanical ones. That stores solid state oxygen to be converted and delivered in dosage as the body needs. Working in tandem with artificial red blood cells.

      Or, could we perhaps genetically engineer ourselves to use more energy to turn that carbon dioxide back into pure oxygen so that way we can hold our breath indefinitely, without needing to remove our need for oxygen
