I love this box! Can you please detail the end finishes where you say the first coat was poly/oil then the second coat was wax/oil? Can you tell me how to mix these same finishes and what ingredients use in what ratio? I love the soft finish. Thanks for the wonderful instructions. I am new to power carving and this was very helpful.
I appreciate you've been doing this a long time, but something makes me want to send you a push stick to use with the table saw or a Gripper to use on videos.
Hey Eric, First off I enjoy your videos, gives me something to watch during down time at the firehouse so I hope you keep them coming. I was hoping for some advice. I recently watched one of your videos you posted on 17June2020 building a box and using a dado/rabbit planer. I'm fairly new to even a simple straight inlay and even when cutting a 1/8" blade width dado and then using various thin rip jigs the inlay strips are still usually to loose or too tight to fit. Incidentally I have the same contractors table saw you used in video although I'm sure most of the problem is my knowledge/technique and not the saw. Would a dado/rabbit planer similar to what you were using be the best solution to allow a too tight inlay to fit properly? Are dado planers adjustable to any degree. Or, what method would you advise to either widen the dado or thinning down the inlay piece consistently along the entire length? And lastly, do you have any wisdom to share as far as getting a simple straight inlay to fit correctly the first time? I thank you in advance for your time and any help. Now see, I've never heard anyone else use the word "rectangle" before referring to woodworking. When I see a nice cutting board someone makes, I often say, "I like your rectangle...that is a NICE rectangle." Or when I post a cutting board I make I say, "I made a fancy rectangle! YAY!"
Damn. Stone looks great in there. Unsolicited advice.. show the end-product way more! I wanted to look at the finished product for like a full 20-30 seconds uninterupted. Instead we saw your lovely face.. which is nice.. just not what i came here for.
I've never understood using your fingers to push a piece through on a table.saw. I mean why? Just use a push stick or something similar and avoid the risk.
That is so pretty.
Jerry and Lola would approve.
Tiger Maple I love working with it. Very nice box.
Great to see what you can make when you don't have an ideal arsenal of tools to hand. Great job!
Thank you brother! :)
Amazed how the things u touch becomes marvellous
Thank you 😊
Fantastic job! Very impressive.
Yes, I too am really happy with the way this box turned out! ( It is a little complicated, truth be told!)
Hahaha it's not ALL that complicated
@@ENCurtis I love this box. I am new to woodworking but I want to give this a try

Hi Curtis I know this is an old version but wanted to see if you can recommend a similar carving bit for dremel? Thanks
Cool box brother!
Well done. Good inspiration! Like your video style. Greetings from Austria
Thank was great thanks. Julien
Nice!
What tool do you use to do the carving? Is it just a Dremel with a stone bit?
Hey! thanks for showing how to make that box. Ok Bye! lol
You're very welcome! K Bye 😄
nice design
How do work out the dimensions of your boxes ie length x height x width is there a formula for achieving a proportional dimension????
Beautiful
That box is really beutiful and inspiring. I hope you don't mind if I try to make something similar....... please? 👍
Please do! That's why I put videos out. And let me know how it turns out 👍
@@ENCurtis thank you 😊👍

Eric I’m sorry you need intervention. You have a ‘BOX’ fetish! Great job man, your carving and box is beautiful! Cheers, Sean
Awesome build. Any reason you cut the lid off before glue-up?
To allow me to work on carving the top while the base dried. Just another way to go about it 👍
Hi, I made a wood box inspired by your work, I liked it very much and I'd like to show it to you
It's important that your rectangles not have any wrecked angles!
Wow 👍👍
😎😋💯
And for how much does it sell?

The audacity! How dare you wear a KJ Sawdust shirt while using BLUE tape. #teamgreentape
Also, killer box 🤙🏼
😂 hey I will rep my boy KJ anywhere and everywhere!
Be mindful ???? You not even use push stick lol
One of the first things I noticed. Gave me anxiety.

I've never understood people who don't understand why 🤷♂️
Don’t touch the spinny bit. Much like walking next to a road without putting your head in front of a car
Stodoys scripts contain most of the woodworking plans you can find.

I bought plans from woodglut and did it very quickly.
I will try to do it with Woodprix plans.
I did it myself with the woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
