The greatest most versatile female vocalist of her generation.
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
This was 1977 live! She won a Grammy for Pop Female Vocalist of The Year! Memories.
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
Linda has the most diverse catalog of any singer, ever. Country, pop, rock, light opera, American Standards, Spanish, and bluegrass. My recommendations:
You're No Good
Long, Long Time
Don't Know Much
La Charreada
You can find live versions of all these songs on YT. She sounds just as good live as her recorded music.
Stay tuned in a near future there will be more! Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
You have now discovered the most beautiful voice on the planet! This is actually from 1977. Linda Ronstadt was the first female to sell out arenas. She could do anything with her voice and had exquisite control. She won every award available. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this amazingly talented woman. You can never go wrong with Linda. More please! 🌺✌️
Stay tuned in a near future there will be more! Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
May I suggest Down so low and desperado. Welc😢to the fan club.
No auto tune. Just talent
Looking forward to discover more!
I was in high school in the early 1970s, back when Linda Ronstadt was becoming hugely famous. Like pretty much every teen then, many long years before the internet, I always waited impatiently for the release of my favorite musicians’ new albums and then bought them as soon as I could. Then I’d hide in my room and play them over and over. A happy by-product was learning most of the words to most of the songs on the album.
At the end of the day, that’s why most of us - the present-day Ancients to all y’all whippersnappers - STILL know most of the words to most of the songs from back then. It’s why we can embarrass the young’uns in our lives by singing freely, wherever we are, about
Muskrat Love - or -
Heart of Gold
You’re So Vain
Spirit In the Sky
In the Summertime
He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother
Maggie May
Mr. Bojangles
House of the Rising Sun
Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue
Teach Your Children
Wild World
At Seventeen
Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree
Papa Was A Rolling Stone
Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys
And, of course, Blue Bayou.😊
Loved the fact you've shared it with me! I apreciatte it! Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
One of the biggest stars of the 70s
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
You have stumbled across the voice of the 20th century’s best voice. Linda did it all.
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
Thanks, Alex! This is my favorite performance by Linda.. I love that it is LIVE.. and also that she is very casual in her appearance.. not trying to be "sexy" or dramatic.. just a fantastic vocal and working with her band... (you are correct that this video was years ago.. 1977, I believe.. probably before you were born! lol) I always enjoy your reactions and look forward to more...
Hey Gin Mae, how are you? Yes, I wasn't born at that time :) I tottaly agree with your description on Linda in this video! It's so good to know that you appreciate my videos! I chose not to over react or lie about what I'm feeling... just my opinion and thoughts! Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
Linda could do it all. Rock, country, Mexican songs, and even a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta call "Pirates of Penzance." She was a major star in the 1970's and beyond. Check her out in TRIO singing with Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts and tips!
What a gift--to start the road to discovery on the World of Linda Ronstadt. Buckle up--it is a heck of a ride
I'm ready for it :) Thank you for dropping by and sharing those thoughts!
@@Alexal_PT Try "La Cigarra" to get some of her Mariachi performance, "what's New" for big band, and the 1977 live "Desperado"
Her live performance of "You're No Good" on The Midnight Special TV show is amazing. Check it out if you can.
Thank you for dropping by and for those tips!
You owe it to yourself to indulge in a thorough exploration of her work - you will find it impossible to believe that one artist could have such versatility. To borrow from Churchill, never in the history of modern music has one singer done so much, so well in so many genres.
It's a huge tragedy that her career has been cut short by a neurodegenerative disease, supranuclear palsy - otherwise I'm sure she would still be filling arenas. Thank you for everything, Linda.
I believe in it! It's so sad knowing such a thing... Feel sorry for her, for the fans and music in general! Thank you for dropping by and sharing those tips!
Love Linda - you'd like her Spanish songs
Thank you for dropping by and for your suggestion!
This is from her Atlanta 1977 concert. You should check out tumbling dice and you’re no good from this concert .Linda is incomparable.
Hi Randy! Thank you for dropping by and for your suggestion!
The bayous of Louisiana were traditionally a place of poverty. To get ahead in the world people had to leave to go to places where there were decent paying jobs. Like the immigrants who came to the USA seeking a better life they would often send money back home. (Saving nickles, saving dimes). But many missed there homes and families after having gone to a strange city where they did not know anyone. That is the basis of this song.
Thank you for dropping by and sharing those tips!
From 1977
Thanks for the tip!
