Honestly the Ransom Fern one looks like it was built by a complete master builder like Emmet whereas the official looks like something 7 year old me would build if I had the pieces

Ransom Fern's versions is amazing!! It took forever to build for me as well, reminded me being a kid in the early 2000s with some UCS sets before numbered bags. I didn't have any problems fitting Iron Man inside, I think the instructions even has a guide. But you had to fold and turn things certain ways and be careful.

I had the same issue with the pieces, but it was minor and I chalked it up to my mistake as well. Such an incredible build.
I had no issues when I built mine. I’m pretty sure it’s all user error.
Might just buy the set to build ransom ferns design

I love the Hulk Buster. Even with its draw backs. The Ransom Fern version is awesome and I do like the dimensions. I guess beauty is in the imperfections?

I guess the one good thing about the original being so bad is that its pretty easy to get a big discount on it and then just build the alternative version!

Its amazing that it is even possible to build such a good looking model from the same pieces. Honestly it shows how badly LEGO whiffed on this set. They could've done so much better. Honestly, I still think the UCS Hulkbuster is the single worst Lego set I've ever seen all things considered.
Lego has to prioritize stability over everything when it comes to big models like this and while the original doesn't looks the greatest, it shows that if want to achieve certain shapes and curvature you need to sacrifice stability (a big dilemma indeed).
It was funny how he was knocking the MOC on stability when trying to put the Ironman figure in when the original wasn’t known for being super stable either. I remember a number of review videos had parts falling off from just having it spin slowly on a turntable.
@@Gzilla313 this why we don't see too many good replica models of things like the hulkbuster, because while the good looking curvature is possible, it comes at the cost of bad stability. Of course I'm sure with some practice and a series of small technic pieces, anything is possible.
@@productionsinparadise2880 if you visit tge original designers channel, and other that have built the model the stability isnt that different from the original. And its especially good being built ALOT BETTER with oly the supplied hulkbuster parts.
I kept my hulkbuster og! It kinda grows on me! And yes the rfa version looks very pretty! When i saw it over at my buddy’s house.. it’s quite flimsy even more than the og. They should have just made a 300 bucks one the size of the ninjago mechs! My son really likes those! And they are the perfect balance between size and still being very stable builds!
I mean this is the best version of the hulk buster ever if this was put at its retail price would you buy it?

I built the moc and all the pieces in the instructions were there - 1:14
There are some slightly different colors that I accidentally used earlier to find out I didn't have it when I needed it, made me having to re-do a leg, other than that it was fine.
The gold bar - under the armpits, on the side - are supposed to go over the pecs 4:16, not behind them

You put the Ironman inside the hulkbuster wrong, in his video he shows you the way you have to do it. If it’s not prepped right it won’t work.
