Since my Z Fold 3 has started failing on me when unfolded about a month ago (but still falls within the description of good condition for turn in, lucky me) I figured I'd look at getting a new phone and waited for it to be announced to increase my options. Right now the Z Fold 6 is cheaper than the Z fold 5 on the Samsung site before adding additional discounts, not sure about elsewhere, but something to consider since you mentioned suggesting the Z fold 5 for being cheaper. Also why I decided to preorder the 6.
@@anthonyhernandez6230 So far no issues under normal use, which isn't saying much since I've only had it for a little over a week. The Z Fold 3 screen durability was pretty good, no defects after 4 years even when the wind knocked it down a story onto a non slip textured asphalt with no case, and with the expectation that they increased the durability over the few generations I have high hopes. I did have to remove the internal screen protector on the 3 though due to it starting to peel in the crease, and I heard it could cause screen damage if ignored when it peels like that.
as some one who has had every fold since the 3 i am moveing to the 6 for a few reasons. 1. every mm on the front makes a huge difference for these devices. when i had the 3 and the 4 came out and the screen was only slightly larger in pictures and talking points i didnt truly grasp how much of a difference it made to useability. i use both the out side and the inside quite evenly. my main gripe with all the folds is the fact that the inside is more square than it is 16 or 18x9 and it makes watching videos a little annoying imo. i just dont think there is ever going to be a time where the phone will feel comfortable in your pocket as a 16x9 or 18x9 folded in your pocket. i have grown quite use to the size of the device and i have a really hard time going back to putting a standard phone in my pocket. it drives me nuts every time a friend asks me to hold on to one at an event. 2. the brighter display. as some one who is constantly out side this is just a no brainer 3 and this is the main reason. after 3 years of using a foldable. i have finally had debris enter the hinge and destroy the inside screen from the inside out. so the fact that it is finally dust and even sand resistant is my main reason for switching.
I have the fold 3 and just finished paying it off. I can't wait to switch in the time I've had it I've had it replaced 4times under warranty because the inner screen starts peeling, or gets dead pixels from folding and I don't even use the inner screen all that much. The smaller butter screen isn't optimized well with a lot of apps so the edges get cut off of things all the time. Also due to the folding screen the cases are 2 parts. One covering the top half one covering the bottom. They are held 2 the phone with a sticky glue. It doesn't make your phone sticky but after 5 or so months it starts to wear off and you have to buy a new cover. I tried a few brands including otter box and they all had the same issue. Ended up going with out and of course got a few light cracks in the screen. Sure the big inner screen is nice for movies and games but with the issues of the folding screen I won't be getting anouther for a long time.
I agree, it was on my buying list until I saw that the cameras and battery were the same. In most European countries: - it starts at 2000€ (in Europe after taxes, as always. As people have to pay taxes, I don’t understand why people in the USA talk before taxes…at least they could say “starts at…”) - in some countries there are 150€ credit or they offer the Buds Pro 3 if you pre order ending the 14th July - NO double the storage for preorders, at least on many European countries (which was great with the S23U in many countries, you would get double the storage and the buds pro) But you don’t get: - better cameras or real battery - don’t get the mandatory S-Pen / cover - 512 GB base storage (it’s 256 GB, so you have a >2000€ mini tablet/computer but only 256 GB storage in 2024!) - the AI features MAY cost something along the way! (wtheck) At the end, you end up paying 2400€ for the 512 GB + cover with SPen, having the same (now even cheaper) camera setup and battery. Most of the tech is far from new (so no high costs from the R&D) and are just small refinements. There is no excuse to charge more as 90% of the tech inside of it hot a lot cheaper to manufacture. I’ll pass, thanks.
Everything seems nice, but they have to give us bugger battery or at least 45W charging speed. Z Fold6 and have the same camera as S24. They've upgraded the Ultrawide lens sensor to be the same as S24. Quality is just the same as capable of shooting 4K@60fps with 0.6x Zoom magnification. Its main lens also able to shoot 4K@120fps and 8K@30fps. Build quality and speaker quality (particularly on Flip6) are top-notch this year.
Although spec didn’t change, for some reason, portrait photos are less blurry compared to Fold 5. This is something that I have noticed, as it bothered me so much while I was using Fold 5
Sal you’re 6’ 3” brother? Nice..! I have the F4. It’s in great condition. The F6 is not enough for me to upgrade. The price point even with Sammy’s discount is too steep. Again my F4 is in mint condition. I did see the F6 in the store today on display. It is a beautiful piece of tech.
I had the fold 4 and just upgraded to the fold 6 and my biggest complaint is typing on the front screen. I fat thumb everything and it's extremely annoying! Other than that I love it.
I'm waiting to see what The Pixel FOld 2 (or whatever they end up calling it) does to determine if this is the time to get my first folding camera or if I should wait. It's more of an experiment to me so I'm not sure if its time yet.
What's interesting is that the things that RUclipsrs are willing to die on, the average person could give no care about. This still has a great camera if you're comparing it to anything that's under $1,000. If the camera is really what you're going for, don't buy a fold! But not having the best camera does not make this a bad phone.
Why can't Samsung simply put two Samsung S24 Ultra Displays together to give us a fold??? And then use a third S24 Ultra display for the cover screen and the same camera system from the S24 Ultra and the built in S Pen in a Fold facto????? Samsung literally has all the hardware and software to make it happen and they don't need to reinvent anything new.
Still can't beat the One Plus Open, which came out last year. But then Samsung is not shooting for the competition. They are shooting for their previous gen phone.
You're right. The reason I'm on the fence about switching from my s23u is the camera. I'm so used to flagship a+ cameras that switching to the fold basically means switching to a b+ camera.
I've been looking for an hour and still haven't had a single review tell me if they have added the ability to write on the front screen which has been needed forever. Rep for Samsung told me yes but I still haven't been able to confirm and if it's true, why is nobody making a big deal of it? Best feature of note and a series is that feature for business people and I've been waiting and waiting and if they have indeed finally done it, I'm happy as can be. 1 to be able to take the pen and write a note without even turning the screen on is the handiest feature ever when driving down the road . Samsung if you have added that feature may you live to be a thousand years old
Personally I think that Folds are above all work tools. If someone wants a “state-of-the-art” camera or something similar, I advise them to look at the S range. Otherwise I think the design of this new Fold is pretty cool. It is indeed premium. But I still want a larger "cover" screen, well it's a question of taste. At the moment I'm using an S23 plus and I don't see the point in changing. Maybe I'll get a Fold 5 as a second Smartphone. I don't really see any big revolutions and as long as last year's Smartphones benefit from AI...
Majority of RUclipsrs and media when it comes to Apple 🍏: "Wow 😮 , the iPhone 13 Mini is the smartphone I've always dreamed of 😍 🤗, easy to use and tap with one hand 🤩🥰 👌🏽" The same youtubers and media when it comes to Samsung: "The Fold 6 is too narrow 😒😬, it's nonsense from Samsung😡😤🤬" And yet, the external screen of the Fold 6 is much wider than that of the iPhone 13 Mini, it is even only slightly less wide than that of the iPhones X/11 Pro by 2-3mm 🤷🏽♂️ For some, the external display of the Fold 6 is perfect, but, it's true that (in my opinion) Samsung should have added those 3mm to make its external display perfect for everyone. A Galaxy Fold with an external screen 3mm wider than the Fold 6 and with the same height as an S24 Ultra would be perfect, both for the ease of use of the external screen, and for the ratio of the internal screen which will be more rectangular than square. But it would have to be a maximum thickness of 9-10mm like its Chinese competitors, a battery 🔋 of at least 5000mAh, but above all new bigger main photo sensors, especially (and at least) a 64mp 3X zoom like the OnePlus Open/12. 🙏🏽
Had Fold 3, upgraded to Fold 4 because i use the front screen more, now that we have an increase I'm upgrading again, i do a lot of stuff on the cover screen, but than when i get home i spend almost always on the large screen, worth the upgrade, I'd like couple of more millimeters to the right but I'll settle for this maybe for another 2 years.
i have been almost buying the latest Folds for years now.. but all the reviews always seem to say 'it's not that much better than the previous version' ,, so alas,, my good ol S10+ survives yet again..
It seems that it ain't really worth upgrading from fold 4 to 6 from what I see? Am I right? I mean the price jump is quite big too even if you'd have to buy between them both. Most people should go for Fold 4 I guess? I guess for me is a wait until fold 7.
I'll definitely keep my Fold 4. If the outer display was wider and they upgraded the camera's, plus improve battery life. Samsung drop the ball, $100 more for a premium look. The fold 6 will be on sale by September!
im comming from a s23 and would really like to own the samsung fold so i checked it out few days ago. unfortunately, i noticed that the cameras would be a downgrade to my s23. thats absolutely a big NO GO for a device thats so expensive. will be going for the s24 ultra and wait for two years and see what samsung has improved by then.
I just got home to preorder the silver Buds 3 Pro and saw the Z Fold 6 and it feels so premium. Also, it is actually thinner than I expected and also very light. I almost considered trading in my S24 Ultra but decided not to. 😆
You're actually wrong about the cameras. The Fold 6 Ultrawide camera is new, and far better than the one on Fold 5: "The Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera is largely the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 5's, but with one exception: the ultrawide camera. Samsung's upcoming foldable has a new 12-megapixel sensor for its ultrawide camera that the company says is better in dim scenarios, accompanying the 50-megapixel main camera and 10-megapixel telephoto camera from last year." That's from Cnet Tech.
Contrary to what many people say, I think the external screen of the Fold 6 is now wide enough (almost as wide as Asus Zenphone 10, S24) even if with 2-3mm more width it would have been perfect, on the other hand that the battery has not increased to at least 4800-5000mAh and the photo sensors have not evolved, it's criminal !!! Also, speaking of the thickness of the Fold, people should take into account the thickness of the camera block of others Folds, these things are almost 3cm thick taking into account their photo blocks 🤷🏽♂️

I work at a metal factory where we forge parts for aerospace, commercial and military. We deal with molten metal and indutrail hydraulic presses. We get paid $20 an hour to start, we dont get paid enough to say the least lol
I have it and love it...using it now
Wow, that video was awesome! Thanks for sharing! 👍 👌 😎
😇😃
Honestly, if you're really big into Tech, these phones are great. My BF works in IT and has had the fold 5 for over a year and still to this day does not shut up about how great his phone is. and now I'm thinking about upgrading from the Flip 5 to the new Fold 6 😅
He gives good advice as well as an interesting and informative review.
I am wondering about the screen durability is it worth it?
@@anthonyhernandez6230 So far no issues under normal use, which isn't saying much since I've only had it for a little over a week. The Z Fold 3 screen durability was pretty good, no defects after 4 years even when the wind knocked it down a story onto a non slip textured asphalt with no case, and with the expectation that they increased the durability over the few generations I have high hopes. I did have to remove the internal screen protector on the 3 though due to it starting to peel in the crease, and I heard it could cause screen damage if ignored when it peels like that.
I hope they don't change the boxy design until s26 ultra
I really like it but s25 ultra getting rounded next year lol. It'll be like a middle ground of both rectangle and rounded look.
Is hate when people say its a brick, its really not. Even with a case. Its honestly perfect
Still lovin my fold 4 ❤
as some one who has had every fold since the 3 i am moveing to the 6 for a few reasons.
1. every mm on the front makes a huge difference for these devices. when i had the 3 and the 4 came out and the screen was only slightly larger in pictures and talking points i didnt truly grasp how much of a difference it made to useability. i use both the out side and the inside quite evenly. my main gripe with all the folds is the fact that the inside is more square than it is 16 or 18x9 and it makes watching videos a little annoying imo. i just dont think there is ever going to be a time where the phone will feel comfortable in your pocket as a 16x9 or 18x9 folded in your pocket. i have grown quite use to the size of the device and i have a really hard time going back to putting a standard phone in my pocket. it drives me nuts every time a friend asks me to hold on to one at an event.
2. the brighter display. as some one who is constantly out side this is just a no brainer
3 and this is the main reason. after 3 years of using a foldable. i have finally had debris enter the hinge and destroy the inside screen from the inside out. so the fact that it is finally dust and even sand resistant is my main reason for switching.
In most European countries:
- it starts at 2000€ (in Europe after taxes, as always. As people have to pay taxes, I don’t understand why people in the USA talk before taxes…at least they could say “starts at…”)
- in some countries there are 150€ credit or they offer the Buds Pro 3 if you pre order ending the 14th July
- NO double the storage for preorders, at least on many European countries (which was great with the S23U in many countries, you would get double the storage and the buds pro)
But you don’t get:
- better cameras or real battery
- don’t get the mandatory S-Pen / cover
- 512 GB base storage (it’s 256 GB, so you have a >2000€ mini tablet/computer but only 256 GB storage in 2024!)
- the AI features MAY cost something along the way! (wtheck)
At the end, you end up paying 2400€ for the 512 GB + cover with SPen, having the same (now even cheaper) camera setup and battery. Most of the tech is far from new (so no high costs from the R&D) and are just small refinements. There is no excuse to charge more as 90% of the tech inside of it hot a lot cheaper to manufacture.
I’ll pass, thanks.
In US tax depends on the state that you are. Also some states have no sales tax.
If anything it's only gotten me more excited for F7
I just regret jumping the gun on F5 back then, it seems they're really refining that fold game
Although spec didn’t change, for some reason, portrait photos are less blurry compared to Fold 5. This is something that I have noticed, as it bothered me so much while I was using Fold 5
Thank you. Very informative.
the reason why round edges was created was for the impact of dropping. i love the square look but i am afraid of droppping my f6
The camera is insane from the 5 to 6 got the all fold and the 6 is the best so far 👌
8:25 they actually did improve the ultrawide sensor btw also a major update is new folding screen materials which no one is talking about
Great review
Thank you!
I still have the Fold 3. Think I'll wait until the 7. Need for more/better changes to justify the cost
Should have mentioned the dust resistance certification as well
>1 mm particle size is not dust so it is pointless to mention that
More like small rocks, the dust certification is too low to matter.
I would trade the 4 in now for the 6 if I were you. From Samsung they gave me 1250 for my fold 4. The cost for the 6 for me is 749.
I had the fold 4 and just upgraded to the fold 6 and my biggest complaint is typing on the front screen. I fat thumb everything and it's extremely annoying! Other than that I love it.
All of the other folds look like the same phone in different sizes. The Z6 is the best and most unique looking book foldable. Can't wait to get mine.
Z Fold 6 vs Vivo X Fold 3 Pro pls
Can't even compare the two, Vivo is years and years ahead.
I really really really wished they changed atleast the main camera on fold 6.
Is there any fold 6 ultra coming?
I bought it because I have the fold3, but it really is little change and there are many improvements missing with the pen, better cameras and battery.
Great review!! 👍
I think people care about cameras too much. You don't need the best camera in the world for you instagram
I thnk in two years these folds will get better and better, they still have to reduce weight and thickness!
Majority of RUclipsrs and media when it comes to Apple 🍏:
"Wow 😮 , the iPhone 13 Mini is the smartphone I've always dreamed of 😍 🤗, easy to use and tap with one hand 🤩🥰 👌🏽"
The same youtubers and media when it comes to Samsung:
"The Fold 6 is too narrow 😒😬, it's nonsense from Samsung😡😤🤬"
And yet, the external screen of the Fold 6 is much wider than that of the iPhone 13 Mini, it is even only slightly less wide than that of the iPhones X/11 Pro by 2-3mm 🤷🏽♂️
For some, the external display of the Fold 6 is perfect, but, it's true that (in my opinion) Samsung should have added those 3mm to make its external display perfect for everyone.
Playing Smash hit like in the good old days
i have been almost buying the latest Folds for years now.. but all the reviews always seem to say 'it's not that much better than the previous version' ,, so alas,, my good ol S10+ survives yet again..
It seems that it ain't really worth upgrading from fold 4 to 6 from what I see? Am I right?
I mean the price jump is quite big too even if you'd have to buy between them both. Most people should go for Fold 4 I guess?
I guess for me is a wait until fold 7.
@RunOrDie77 nope never pay that ridiculous price..get ultra
Awesome review. 🔥
😇
what game was that with the ball breaking things?
Smash hit
@@XEETECHCARE nostalgia hit from 10 years ago
I bought a white Z Fold 6 1tb here in Canada, and it cost $3000 CDN
Damnn
Would you get an S24U over this?
Ya
Depends if you get your phones for the camera. S24 camera is way better.
Screen experience is better on the Fold 6.
"The best thing about Folf 6 is that Fold 5 is now affordable to buy" 😂😂
I'll definitely keep my Fold 4. If the outer display was wider and they upgraded the camera's, plus improve battery life. Samsung drop the ball, $100 more for a premium look. The fold 6 will be on sale by September!
I'm still waiting for Samsung to make a Z Fold with the S Pin installed in it like the Note series.
Traded my S22 Ultra for this. Sure thing I'll miss the cameras and S-Pen, but really want to try out a fold since long time.
Yup, the reason why i loved the fold 6 is because, i got the fold 5 1TB model for just 900usd 😂
Galaxy fold6 vs galaxy 24 Ultra speed test
im comming from a s23 and would really like to own the samsung fold so i checked it out few days ago. unfortunately, i noticed that the cameras would be a downgrade to my s23. thats absolutely a big NO GO for a device thats so expensive. will be going for the s24 ultra and wait for two years and see what samsung has improved by then.
I just got home to preorder the silver Buds 3 Pro and saw the Z Fold 6 and it feels so premium. Also, it is actually thinner than I expected and also very light. I almost considered trading in my S24 Ultra but decided not to. 😆
You're actually wrong about the cameras. The Fold 6 Ultrawide camera is new, and far better than the one on Fold 5:
"The Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera is largely the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 5's, but with one exception: the ultrawide camera. Samsung's upcoming foldable has a new 12-megapixel sensor for its ultrawide camera that the company says is better in dim scenarios, accompanying the 50-megapixel main camera and 10-megapixel telephoto camera from last year."
That's from Cnet Tech.
If it had same camera as S23 or 24 ultra, I'd buy it.
Slimmer front screen makes you use the inner screen. ❤
Is the inner screens protector any good compared to fold 4/5 ?
Because After months with fold 4 the screen protector damaged the inner screen 😮
I had an issue with that too! My inner screen was like cracking. Almost splintering. I got it almost right when it came out
Why isn't any tech experts talking about how Samsung updates cause the black screen of death issue
