Brought back some good memories Ken. As a boy, my dad had a sawmill and he and his brother would cut timber and my job was to keep the logs pulled out of their way and up to the truck. At first I used an old kerosene burner Case with a hand clutch then later upgraded to a real Cadillac of a tractor, a Massey Harris 44 diesel. Life for me couldn't have gotten better with that Massey. But I had a set of log tongs, 2 log dogs pounded into the logs with a sledge hammer and a 20' chain. On the real big logs it would take both dogs and sometimes the tongs too. Most of the time it was medium size stuff and I'd grab one with the tongs and chain another and run the chain to the 3rd log and catch it with a half hitch and drag 3 logs at a time up to the waiting '55 Chevy COE with a 16' bed. I'm 64 now and would never be able to work that hard again but I did learn how to operate a tractor in all kinds of conditions. Dad not only taught me to work hard, but work smart while I was at it. Nice video and thank you for conjuring up some pleasant memories from my youth.

We've had several black oaks that had the same issue with black ants, we just leave them lay after we cut them until after a hard winter, then use them for firewood. I need to do some wood cutting myself, now that I have a break in the haying, maybe I can! I like your wood splitter, I would like to have a multi-split for mine. Nice video, thanks and I hope you have a good night.

My goodness Ben how many logs have you pulled with the farmtrac , and the thoughts of hearing the sing of the saw, I have heard that many times, it reminds me of cutting wood for my in-laws, I sure do miss them we had a lot of good times splitting the wood that the Lord blessed me to be able to cut for them.
