@gmoneyz3049 yup. Not to take away from the Rangers, but it is the same for us Veterans. We don't ever retire truly, and we are OK with that. This was the saddest part of WALKER TEXAS RANGER. CD was always so nice to everyone on the show and it is a shame that this episode was made shortly before or after his passing. There will never be another NOBLE WILLINGHAM on this show. Every episode had a great ending except for this one. God bless your family, Mr. Willingham.

Noble Willingham left the show to run for Congress in Texas. The way he was written off, I suspect the Norris brothers and other producers were not happy that he was leaving; especially in the middle of a season. He passed away in real life about 3 years after the show ended.
Very true. Somehow he lost as a Republican in Texas. In 4 days, President Donald J. Trump will avenge that loss and show all those assholes saying Texas will turn blue this time that they are full of it.

In this episode; “The Avenging Angel” 9x04 C.D. died of a heart attack! But in the series finale “The Final Showdown” 9x23-9x24 Emile Lavocat admitted to murdering C.D. In fact, C.D. died from a poison “Ricin”. Without an autopsy; it would look like he had a heart attack.
In 2024, this is still my favorite TV show. I think Walker was just Chuck Norris playing himself, a GREAT man with a BIG heart. CD loved Jimmy like a son, and Jimmy loved CD like a father. The entire cast had GREAT chemistry.
Didn't they spend a while after the actor left the show having the other characters saying he was abroad traveling or something before they decided to kill off his character C.D Parker?
No that's not the reason you see he passed away just before the episode claimed that he was traveling on a yacht Cruise so the actor passed away a while back so they just used his character claiming that he was traveling then they made this episode so it's a very saddening to hear about that actor dying before the end of the series

If I remember correctly the actor who played CD was originally out campaigning for some kind of political office and then suddenly passed away unexpectedly while on the campaign trail didn't he?
Noble Willingham, (CD Parker) passed away in 2004. He'd been off camera for quite a while prior to this because he was running for U.S. House of Representatives and campaign rules at the time didn't allow him to have all that free unrelated camera time. But he hadn't actually been written out of the show yet. Eventually his character was killed off. Then shortly after he actually passed away I think is when they did that story about the poison as a tribute episode, since they'd already written in his death and memorial earlier on.
This scene was so sad and then they find out that CD was murdered. Whenever I see a funeral that has a 21-gun salute, it kind of makes me angry not at the fact that they are doing but when my grandpa died, instead of 7 guys shooting 3 times, we had 3 guys shooting 3 times. My grandpa deserved so much more than what he got.
I know Noble was leaving the show but I HATE how they did this. Just tacking CD’s death and funeral onto the last three minutes of an episode. He deserved a MUCH better send off.

but Westmoreland HAD HIM. Just stumbled to defeat on the plane. The chair move, don't know if that would have been enough for Walker. Could as just as easily been James Bond cornered by Westmoreland, who reminds me in that scene of Red Grant, hahaha. And Goldfinger, though Goldfinger was an idiot. Bond could have taken him. Walker? I have doubts. He won in part because of the plane turbulence, chaos on the plane.
I honestly thought Walker was going to break down and cry here but he remained very calm upon them hearing of CD's tragic death. I am sure Walker grieved in his own way but he was never one for outwardly expressing his emotions.
