I love the Microcosm so much! There are enough reviews and tutorials on this out there, so instead I decided to do a demo where I show you how to actually use it in the context of a song. Thanks for watching and thanks to Hologram for sending this epic pedal over!

Outstanding! Best Microcosm clip out there. We need more practical applications like this instead of some twit f*cking around with the knobs for 5 minutes. Great job!
Thanks so much for watching! I try to keep every demo musical.
Wow this pedal is Insane love the plucky bass and vocal chops, it's so unique! Thanks for making video on this one!! 💙💙🙌🏻
Thanks for watching dude! Agreed, it's a really unique one and makes sense why it's so popular!
What a brilliant demo of the pedal in a rhythmic and melodic context. Excellent work!
Thanks so much!
Incredible Pedal 👌 Amazing 🤩 love the effects on all the instruments 💯 and what a Track at the end of Video 💥💥💥💥💥 Awesome Demo 🤩 🙌
Thanks a lot!
Seen so many Microcosm videos that I got bored with the device before even going so far as to trying or buying one, but this is the only video I’ve seen applying an actual usefully practical application, great job!
Thank you so much! High praise, this is what I try to go for with all my pedal and synth demos, I post a new one weekly :)
Excellent review! I’m quite amazed at what you were able to create with this pedal. Crazy good!
Thanks a lot! Its a fantastic pedal for musical ideas :)
Really excellent and original review displaying the unique character of this pedal (pedal is just too simplistic a term really)
I loved that you chose to show a real world application by demoing a track and deconstructing the individual parts.
I loved this as it placed the sounds and the effects in context as part of the creative process
The mIcrocosm is so complex that it is difficult to pigeon-hole where it sits as a pedal ( as a guitarist, playing live it's just too random and unpredictable to sit on my board )
I'm finally getting to understand what an incredibly creative effector this device is and how it can fit into my work flow in the studio, which is really where it belongs.

Thanks so much ! I try to keep my demos as musical as possible. Check out my LVX video if you liked this too!
amazing man. Subbed!!! please make more of these Microcosm videos.
Thanks for the sub! I generally do 1 video per piece of gear, but the microcosm will definitely be in future synth videos as an effect!
that thing sounds pretty good. hopefully they come out with a expanded rack option
that would be so sick.
Well done!
thx!
Really cool phrases. This is exactly what I am looking for. There are a lot of complaints that this pedal is hard to control. Can you make presets that you can then load back in?
Thanks for watching! Yep, it stores presets. The way to save and load them takes a bit to get used to though
Love it!
Thanks!
So far I've only used it dawless with a dx7 and guitar with the looper and recently connected it via microfreak into Ableton. But, I'm now looking to use it as a send/return channel. But I only have a SSL 2+ interface. Do I need more than 2 inputs to get this running in? From what I've seen it looks like I'll need four to get stereo imaging.
Take what I say with a grain of salt but as long as your interface also has 2 OUTPUTS you should be fine with only 2 INPUTS for stereo.
You need 2 outputs to send stereo into to pedal from your daw then 2 inputs to record the wet output of the Microcosm in stereo in your daw
Dope how are you clocking it back to logic to sync in tempo bro?
Thanks! I’m using a usb to midi interface cable to clock it
@@MilesAwayOfficial Cool

Well done, well thought off video. Wish Hologram reaches to me too lol
Nice!😍
Thank you for watching!
🥰🥰🥰
Glad you enjoyed as always!
How do u use the pedal as outboard?
Set up send and return using your outputs and inputs on your interface!
Huge love 😘🥰😍
back at you
I love that this pedal is made. It makes the people who choose not to use it stand out rather than buying something that smears their average notes into a wash of ambient noise. You truly can no longer tell what the player is playing. Ironically this is why it's so popular.
Hard disagree but to each their own. This pedal is like a strong spice, you don't always use it (it's only on about 2-3 of my songs) but when you want that strong flavour nothing else really does what it does.
@@MilesAwayOfficial it’s a music producer’s dream come true. Especially useful for creating/enhancing atmospheric sections of songs. Hands down the most useful and versatile pedal I’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.
@@beatsmithaudio9245 totally agree! It’s one of my fave pedals, up there with Meris LVX
@@MilesAwayOfficial I almost went with the Meris! Ended up going for the hologram and couldn’t be happier!
I think you have completely failed to understand what this pedal can do.
Less is definitely more
There is a real danger that it can be used to simply create an ambient & unpredictable wash over everything.
I started off thinking that this would be a really cool "out there" guitar pedal, I tried it and tbh I was a bit underwhelmed and i couldn't see it fitting into my board.
I appreciated the moments of serendipity but with guitar they were unpredictable and not consistently repeatable
But it is unique and I've been compelled to look deeper into it as a studio effects unit and that's exciting me.
