Lead bossing with a corner bossing tool

  • I’ve been asked about this tool I had made up and how to use it, on this video we are making a internal corner for a lead roll this is in more detail to show how we start the internal corner.
    I hope this explains in detail how to set out and boss the corner

    In see you make real nice work !!! Like a great craftsman, just wow!!!! But wye not zink? Arrent you afraid of lead illness ? As a plumber i solder lead pipe to copper some time with great Joy to let t al flow and make it perfect.

    All my “dressing” tools were made of boxwood but I cut them up to make the bases of stick floats in the 60ts

    hi shaun so im not very experienced with lead beating but i have a fair bit of scrap lead and i want to make a couple ashtrays (basically a square about 50mm tall all around) any tips for getting 4 solid corners without welding it? much appreciated

      Hi,
      If you google pigs ears lead corner it may explain it better than I can but that is how to make a corner without welding lead

      Hi,
      I had it made for me, I’m not sure anyone makes them it’s just a broom handle and a corner piece of wood about 4” high

    Cast lead looks crap

      It’s on a listed building mate so what comes off goes back on and once it’s patinated it looks nice in my opinion

      Milled is better but as you said what comes off must go back on

      That doesn’t even look like cast lead to me. I’ve been doing it years. Where’s the leopard spots? Looks like milled.

      Milled lead isn’t as good as sandcast lead. I have to disagree.

      Used a stick for years mate,still working the lead with a mallet and is quicker
