  • A short video of me doing a corner using the pigs ear method in code8 lead at Burnley Hall, also in the video is the internal corner for the undercloak using the corner dressing tool.
A massive thanks for watching my videos especially subscribing! Watch out for the next one 😉

@@johnCollins-tm5vo I would suggest monument John, but there are plenty of dressing sets on eBay that would be fine mate it’s a great trade to get into tell him to be patient with it and he will get there.

This what I call a dogs ear, not a professional plumbing job at all, dress or burn

If you take the time to look at my other videos mate you will see I am more than capable of dressing or lead burning and where I was taught it was called a pigs ear and plumbers rarely do Leadwork anymore but thanks for the comments

Mate that would have been better to boss the corner in and more stronger corner as lead gets drawn into the corner from both sides, you started yhe corner well should have just continued that way

You are not meant to fold lead like that 😮You are meant to boss lead not crease it 😂
    It’s lead not Zinc 😮

There are lots of folds used in Leadwork mate welted joints etc

Of course there are folds but doing that creases the lead and it will crack. It’s something you do with zinc or copper, not lead😦

@@MPM4882 it’s been done for hundreds of years mate i haven’t invented this way of doing a internal corner

not good practice as capillary attraction can draw water from the gutter upwards this corner is not in the lead sheet manual

Am glad someone else knows what they are talking about, you dont pig ear lead simple 👍
Go and have a look in the LSA Manuel and you won’t find that detail in lead.
