Hats off to you, sir. 👏 I watched this chap who used to drink at our local [establishment] dress some lead, and I was amazed at his skill and artistry. Same to you; keep up the great work, and I hope you pass down your skills to the younger generation. 🎉
When I started out 32 years ago plumbers would carry out pipe work and lead roofing on a project. Nowadays plumbers have their hands full with the minefield plumbing has become and I’ve seen a lot of roofers who dog ear or cut and fold because they haven’t learnt how to lead burn. There’s no doubt in my mind that coping will be there long after we are gone. Stunning mate.
Im a welder and I assume since lead flows quite easy, this to be even harder to master than actual welding. Am I right sir leadwelder? Anyways: I'm intriqued and would love to try this myself. Any Dutch leadwelders looking for a trade exchange? I show you my craft and you show me yours to see what we can learn from another? Cheers, ❤
@@PanzerChicken69 unfortunately I can't lead weld mate, it's such a good skill and I should look into it but if we ever need lead welding we have a couple blokes we sub contract
@@ronnyjohnson739 Roofing is a skill in itself. I love all skills but do not feel very comfortable on slopes 🤫 So I outsource my roof to guys like you and have a coffee to see what you are doing. Not to inspect, but to learn. Keep the trades alive friends, respect your fellow craftmen! Cheers from the Netherlands! ❤️
@@PanzerChicken69 I have 3 cousins in rotterdam so I love the Dutch, also love Amsterdam but can't wear my feyenoord shirt there if I want to leave alive haha 😆
@@ronnyjohnson739 Well, Amsterdam used to be quite a nice city but last decade or so it has become so crowded with tourists that it has basically become inpossible to see anything unless walking like shoulder to shoulder like geese. Next time you visit try Nijmegen, Groningen, Leiden or (if you prefer the countryside) Kinderdijk, de Biesbos or Duivelsberg. I'm 100% convinced they even let you wear your Feyenoord (good choice!) gear! Amsterdam will only give you headaches ;)
Right! I’m from NY, where it’s ALWAYS cut in. Moved to SC like 10 years ago and these clowns run the step counter flat and “seal” it with black polyurethane. Doesn’t matter what color siding/roof/chimney is on there. Black it is. Such an eyesore and doesn’t last. Keeps me busy though.
What a great job mate, loved it. Iam an asphalter by trade, time served with Bruggs Amasco many a time i worked along side Lead workers. We always use to say i would love to do lead work and visa versa with the lead worker. I gave it up many years ago but i couldn't throw my tools away, all but the trowels we made our own. Calling into the cooperman at the breweries to get some oak staves to make our spatulas. Made our pads from car tyres and carved our own handles for the oak floats. Awww the good old days.😂❤
outstanding work..carpenter here and i love my job..i can see the almost love you put into your work..also at timestamp 3 .54..i feel you lol...ive often hit the wrong nail..:)..fantastic workmanship..
I did lead burning as an apprentice plumber in a shipyard for a ships coolroom. I remember how i had to concentrate using the lead oxy torch. Great watching a craftsman at work in this clip.
now if you knew that skilled man was doing ya roof 👌👌there'd be no worries...thats why you never say yes to a cold caller...this man never has to do that... brilliant sir..hats off to ya👍
Lead burning on a bench was one thing. In situ is very different. The plumbers that taught me back in the late 70s were award winners, I havent done any for 40 years. Wished i'd kept it up. Made a beautiful job of that.
This is a master tradesman. You don't get many of this sort of skills nowadays sadly. Government should do more to preserve and to teach this sort of skills
Hi That is work of a very high standard, absolutely 1st. Class, very professional quite amazing, superb video easy to follow and absorb the his craftsmanship. R.
5llb Lead ? , Retired Plumber here , I just gave away my Boxwood dressers 6 months , but watching you makes me yearn for the Trade .......ok I am happy to be Retired , good work . 🔨⚒
Absolutely brilliant, he certainly knows his job, total professional. I'd hate to think how many times hes been cut or burnt himself. Brilliant job. He's the man
Gott ist das schön anzusehen😊. Ehrliches handwerkliches Geschick und ein super Ergebnis. Vielen Dank dafür. Grüße aus dem südlichen Sachsen Anhalt in Deutschland 🇩🇪

Thanks Miller. I’d love to pass down my trade, but tbh no one really wants to learn. Everyone wants to be an expert in 5 days.
@@leadworkswain't that the truth. Easier to do a six week gas course cant blame them really.
That was like watching Bob Ross. Absolute work of art. A true tradesman 👍

Thanks man, yeah it definitely feels like there’s a lot less tradesmen out there who care.
