I've done an update to this video with five MORE plus size pattern designers I love: ruclips.net/video/kIBnXawxBqg/видео.html I know you'll love them too!!
Thanks for sharing because I have just started making plus size clothing for some women I know and this gives me a chance to show patterns that they may like. Again TFS great information
Halla Patterns and 5 out of 4 both have plus size (Halla go to US 30, 5 out of 4 go to 4XL/5XL) patterns and great designs. Mixed casual and dressy, lots of options, lots of tester examples, lots of online help in their fb groups. 5 out of 4 have a pattern on offer each week, as well as regular giveaways.
I just simply LOVE ALL your videos!!! Thank you for focusing on us, The Beautiful Full-Figured Women!!!! They are so few RUclipsrs who addresses our issues. Thank You and please continue!!!
Thank you so much! I hadn't seen any of these brands before! I have now downloaded Paper Theory's Stevie Knickers, because how can I continue sewing without an undies pattern called Stevie Knickers?! I cannot.
I’ve just bought Luna pj pattern from Sew Over It .... this goes up to size 30 but not sure how many other plus size patterns she does ... have also made Cora too which fitted me really well to 👍🏻
I’d love to give you several thumbs up for this vlog! Thank you for all your work! I hadn’t heard of that last one but I’ll look them! 80 videos? Wow, I’ve missed a few 🙀 I’ll try to catch up 😉
The second I hear pinafore I started crying, I’ve been searching for a pinafore pattern for someone plus size for a long time, this has helped me so much! Thank you 🥺
My absolute fave still: Cashmerette; up to 28 (and have seen a request which believes me to think expanding further) + as a beginner I find the patterns very well drafted and contemporary + their cup sizes have hands down the biggest range of all (G-H) Then there's Helen's Closet, P4P and M4M I still have a few more designers, some of whom you mentioned, which have pieces I'd like to make. But can't count them as a fave yet as I haven't made anything from them yet. Hadn't heard of Laela Jayne, will check that out, thanks for the tip!
Hi ya. Yes cashmerette are very good and I've made many of their patterns but I wanted to focus on some lesser known companies. You've mentioned some great companies. Glad you got some use out of my video.
I never heard of Leah a Jane pardon my spelling. You are fantastic. I need plus size patterns for my daughter's clothes and have been trying to alter them myself not very successfully. You are so kind to share. Thanks again. Meg
Hi Meg I'm glad you like. It might be worth trying knit patterns as they're easier to fit. In woven make sure you're fitting her by her upper bust measurement and then doing a full bust adjustment if necessary.. hope this helps.
Hi Claire - what a great vlog! I love StyleArc and I also like Love Notions - they go up to a 3XL and do cup sizes! Did you manage to get a copy of the free Glebe Pants pattern by Broad in the Seams? I think this now goes up to a 60 hip! Also if anyone is interested she has a list of over 100 free plus size sewing patterns - many going up to a plus 60 hip 👍👍👍❤️
Hi Lynne thank you so much! I love love notions but wanted to focus on some other brands as have been doing a lot with love notions recently and will have another video about them on friday. I've signed up for their newsletter but havent downloaded them yet. They are on my list to do but not sure if I'll get to them before new year, maybe during december.
I was just going to say Love Notions. It is the only pattern company so far that I have minimal adjustments. I even have a pair of pants that fit! . That never happens. The only change I had to make was a 1/4 in added for my tummy and a bit added to make the crotch a little longer since I like high waisted pants.
Hi Claire, I didn’t know Style Arc offered plus patterns and I’d not heard of Lakeland Jayne but I’m popping right over to check them all out after I get done writing you this novella-note, lol. Some other companies I’ve found are Love Notions, In The Folds, and Patterns for Pirates. Chalk and Notch, and Itch to Stitch are starting to offer more inclusive sizes as well but are not, sadly, as wide a range as some others.
The Avery leggings. When I’ve cleared the next four things I’m making a long sleeved lark tee with fba and darts, a simplicity banded Cardi, simplicity 8447 vintage dungarees for my daughter and Marcy tilton v9374 trousers. Phew 😅 going to be busy 😂😂😂 love B 🐝 xxx
Could you do an update on this video Claire? I made the I to S Antrim dress on your recommendation and it's fantastic. I would love to know what companies offer a larger range and full bust options.
Brilliant video. I hate grading up patterns to my size as most of the time I mess it up. A few of the companies I have heard of and have yet to buy from them. But many thanks for this. Style Arc illustrations are probably my fave at the moment, because they also use regular people to show the styles.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it and that it was helpful. My next video is going to be going over more patterns that are plus size friendly so do come back for that.
I had not heard of Leila Jane , so thank you for that. I love Style Arc patterns , however their instructions are minimal ...but doable. I love Cashmerette patterns as well. I’m also going to check Friday Pattern Company out more carefully, I didn’t realize they had curvy sizes. Congrats on 2K and well done.
Hi Claire 🙋♀️ nice wallpaper it looks really pretty. I'm looking forward to your collaboration with Laura from the Specky Seamstress, I've been tossing up whether to get that pattern from Style Arc. I've never done a jacket so I'll find that interesting. Just on the Friday pattern company you were scrolling thru I spotted something that looked really good, so will have to go and check them out. Thanks Claire I always love your views on different patterns.💕👍
I never heard of Laela Jayne, must go have a look. I haven't really checked out Style arc, and my impression of paper theory is that they are boxy, minimalist styles - not good for my g cups! Thanks for the tips.
Hey Debs. Do check out style arc they have so many styles. Another you might like that didn't make the cut is lekala you put your measurements in and they give you a bespoke pattern. Instructions are not great but they are cheap.
Congratulations on your 2000 subs. I have been following you for quite a while here and on 12 patterns. I hadn’t heard of Friday’s so I will look into that. Thanks for another great vlog.
Thank you very much for this really useful vlog, I will definitely check out some of these pattern companies. One good thing about the ‘big 4’ pattern companies are that their patterns usually cover plus sizes, and mostly, I have used these. I do have some seamwork patterns to make up, and I hope these will be as well drafted as the examples you show. Congratulations on your latest subscriber numbers, over 2k is a fantastic achievement.
Thanks so much Carol. I do find myself outside the top range of many big 4 although with the massive amount of ease in the pattern I can usually get away with it. I like seamwork but usually have a lot of work to do on their drafting to get it to fit me. Thank you so much re subscribers!
Thank you so much. It makes such a difference cant wait to get some plants in. Also cant wait for calm the room is in chaos with the decorating! Appreciate your comments x
I have lots of patterns to look at now as the only one of these I have come across is Helens closet, would love to see your York pinafore as not sure if it would suit me. I made the Penelope pinafore by Made by Jacks Mum (etsy), this is plus sized. They also have dungarees, t shirts, jersey dress etc. My go to t-shirt is Basically Awesome Tee from Duck Butt Designs - also plus sized. I have also used their basic pants pattern (joggers) 😃
Thanks Alison glad you found the video useful. If you go to my instagram account (penginandpear) and scroll back through my photos you can see my pinafore. Perhaps I'll do a dedicated video to that pattern in the future.
Congratulations on reaching 2000 subscribers !!! I do like your new LDT... it is very pretty with you coloring n slimming... I watched you make the narrow shoulder adjustment n I think I might be needing that too... have you hear of 2 pdf companies by the name of Patterns for Pirates (p4p) n Made for Mermaids (m4m)... they are plus sizes up to XXXL n p4p has started just last month including 5XL... they are very stylish n each have lots of free patterns... each company is owned by a sister n most of their follows follow both... every pattern has multi pictures in all size makes... its amazing... hope you take a look... I would love to know what you think... thank you...
It would be great if you would list the information in the description box. I loved the video but had to go back and forth to look at the sites. Lovely job though!
Hi Claire, which printshop do you use for PDFs? As a plus sized sewer we end up with way more pages and I can't be doing cutting and taping that much. Thanks.
I use Liz William's. Shes an independent with a big printer. You can find her fb page called in stitches. If you struggle PM me on instagram and I'll give you her email.
@@Penguinandpear thanks, there are so many groups on FB called in stitches so don't know where to start but I don't have Instagram. I've joined your FB so can I message you there? Thanks so much.
I've just developed an interest in sewing and so have discovered your channel. A tiny suggestion, as a headphone user your intro music is deafening by comparison to your lovely talking volume.

Thanks for more ideas for patterns. I will check them out. I love Cashmerette. I have almost all of her patterns and sew them frequently.
Thank you so much!
Thanks for the information!
I haven’t heard of any of these pattern designers and I plan to check them all out.
Fantastic!
I’m a newbie. I liked your vlog.
Thank you and welcome x

I’d love more paper patterns that are plus size. What I’m finding that plus sizes are only on PDF and sometimes I don’t wanna cut and stick 🤣🤣🤣 xx
I dont know of any apart from style arc. You could do what I do and get copy shop printing done. Best of both worlds then :-)
Just discovered that you can use a mounted projector to cut your patterns without dealing with the annoying paper cut and tape
Yes, there is a Facebook group dedicated to it.
One of the things I wish Meghan Neilson (sp) would offer is the Daring Ranges Dress. That is the one that I want the most but is unavailable for me.
Yes that's a great one. I've had my eye on this one too!
Never heard of leyla Jeyne. Gonna check and see what they have that’s different Do you recommend the york pinafore ? I’m a real beginner
