“In a way, sewing for plus sizes is almost like an act of social activism.”
I gasped at the sheer truth of that statement 🤭🤟🏻

I have had my Sewing for Plus Sizes for 7 or 8 years. I can't tell you how many times I have laid down the instructions and picked up Barbara's book for the solution. She is truly a brave and inspirational woman.

Outstanding video. It's about time we had a class for us big girls. I've been struggling with ready made patterns and finally started taking my ready made garments apart and making patterns from those. Thank you so much.

Saw your class. It was beautiful. You explained things in a way that made sense.and the logic and reasoning will make it stick. I’m not plus size but I’m plus in places and this class is for anybody working with patterns.

Miss Barbara, I mostly sew from a size 20W pattern, however I have a pattern in a Misses 20. Should I go up to a size 22 on the misses pattern?

I hope you are still checking your comments from older videos because I just now found you! I'm a beginner, and am gathering items needed for sewing my own clothes as well as home decor. My question is: where to find a large mannequin? I've looked literally everywhere!! The adjustable medium to large was the best I've come across. Can you help me with this? Do you know of a place where I can find one? Thank you so much for your help and support. 😊👍

They do have some at Nancy's Notions that are large + adjustable and they also have something you can buy extra that has "extra foam" that you can put where you need the extra foam to be. But both the "extra pillows" and mannequins/dress forms are expensive. I have also seen the mannequins/dress-forms at Joann's but I don't know if they make them in the large size and if they have the extra pillows. Good luck!

Dear Barbara, love all your vids. I need to find out how to alter pants into maternity. Specifically the high waist with a turnover that's soft around the tummy. I am actually recovering from surgery that is at my mid-riff ie. between my waist and bra level. can anyone guide me, I cannot wear pant's or bra at the moment and it must be "easy" and soft. Thank's so much..

Unusually tall lol a lot of these models are naturally tall. Their weights are changed a lot though
