Yes, its time for women to stop being shy about their bodies, celebrate it. After all it does for you, be proud. You ought to see the outfits women are wearing in the US. Some people are making themselves look laughable even, but no one cares anymore about hiding a bump or a bulge. When you get older you will see what's important and what isn't. Being comfortable is the thing. Put on some big earrings and be happy! You are a lovely person, I can tell

You’ve given us many of positive advice to step out of our comfort zone! Girrrrlll ... step out be brave. Appreciate all these patterns! I love the Norah tshirt dress to wear around the house or bed. But my favorite is the Russian site sundress! This dress has endless possibilities! The sundress can be made for fancy occasions or casual. Can be long or short. it can be made by color blocking, made to be structured with cotton types, linens or flowy made with crepe, chiffon, Rayon etc. I have aqua crinkled Rayon and white crinkled Rayon for the summer with matching belt. Happy sewing! 🥰

Just wanted to comment on the very pretty background. I don't know if it is a wall paper, but it is exquisite. I am blessed to be able to get patterns at $1.99 on sale here in the US so I only buy big 4 on sale. Believe it or not at Amazon here you can get some of the indie patterns fairly reasonably so that is nice too. I have even done multiple layers during cutting out material to hurry that tiresome task over with more quickly. And yes, I still do my marking of circles and such with needle and thread through multiple layers.

Hi Claire, I'm so glad to have found your channel!! I love all of your sewing tips. You're so knowledgeable!! I'm downloading the Vera top, The Luna tank, 3 free patterns from Laela Jeyne (LJ) including the Norah dress which looks like a great nightdress pattern, too. Can't wait to try that out with some cotton jersey in my stash. And I'm downloading the Bardon dress, of course!! My shape is very similar to yours, except maybe a bit less bust. I've lost a stone since the death of my husband 3 months ago (sad, yes, but I'm getting on with life.) I've been stocking up on patterns and fabric--probably have enough for the next several years!! Thank you for your videos! Like so many others who have commented, I love your grey top and think you look super in a cowl neck. Thanks again, Phyllis x

Thanks for the video Claire! I really enjoy hearing more from the plus side of things! It's so hard to download and alter many of the "regular" patterns!
Love the Laela jeyne t-shirt dress. I could also see shortening that a bit or making it like a swing style Tshirt for a tunic top! I noticed on their site they have a "body suit" up to 4X called the Lotus Cami. Hmmm, I wonder if that could be easily converted to a one piece swim suit or use cami as top and make bottoms out of a favorite underwear pattern. ??? (I don't like two pieces as plus size but let's face it - it's easier to use the potty that way! LOL) I also like the Bardon dress but want to make an elastic shirred bodice with the layered skirt and pockets. It's pretty popular under "cottagecore" styling and looks great on a plus size as well. :) Happy sewing - would love an update with any makes.

It is decided that the Sorbetto blouse shall be my first real garment to make out of real fabric as I've been hoping to make a blouse (assuming leaving one's home to socialize becomes a thing again) and bought special bias binding on Etsy just for a blouse AND I fell in love with a blouse on the Queen's Gambit which had a stripe down the back seam instead of the front BUT was very similar so, yeah. Thanks 🙂

I have made the Barron dress and the pajamas. I had to take chunks out of the bardon dress pattern being only 5 ft but the pockets are too die for it will be a beautiful dress once I get the fit right. And the pajamas had some strange shaping on the elastic casting. I did not finish that set but when I get time to sort out the casting elastic I will give them another go.

Another great vlog Claire. Thanks for doing the research I'm actually nearly finished my Vera top with my first V neck (don't look too closely when I tag you on Insta!) I have done the 3/4 sleeve full sleeve with narrow band. I hate sewing with viscose jersey altho I like wearing it. It seems to show off every pressing or seam mistake. I think I'll try the Leila Jane t shirt dress in spring which is way off for me in Sydney!!

This is a beautiful collection of free garments. I do like a pretty free pattern. I am looking forward to seeing you make up these, I do like a good sew-a-long video, especially when you include your pattern adjustments and hacks. I really like the video where you changed the sleeve to a flutter sleeve, however I have forgotten which video it was and I really want to try that one.
I made the Shirley Dress from Mood, and I love it. It dose not show the dress well on the site, as the model wearing it is too big for the size that was made. The directions are very misleading and don't use all the needed pattern pieces to make it look nice. Basically it is a fitted bodice with a pleated skirt from the 60s. I made my mockup from poplin and wear it with a belt. My husband didn't like it at first, but once I pressed it it became his favourite. I plan to make another and do some hacks on by leaving off the sleaves and using a half circle skirt, this should also make a beautiful dress in the 60s style.
Have you heard of anyone else that has made the Shirley Dress from Mood? It can be a beautiful dress on a fuller figure, if made right. Luckily I am not one for reading the instructions or I feel this would have become a UFO. It is definitely not a beginner friendly pattern.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Regards Christine 🙋‍♀️🇦🇺👍🏻😍🤩😊🤗

I haven't seen you in a long while. You suddenly popped up! Glad to see you. Wish RUclips would play all my subscriptions one after the other. They seem to hide some for a very long time and I tend to forget the names.

I think if you don’t watch one video (either by accident or intentionally) then RUclips will stop serving that channel to you. It’s so frustrating as a viewer and creator. To make sure you see all of my videos when released you can press ‘all’ on the bell (next to the subscribe button). Ah that’s a shame re your printer.
