I think the pockets on the skirt are called front facing pockets because it’s the facing part on the body side of the pocket that shows. Great vlog, thanks for sharing these wonderful patterns.

I’ll did notice on the pattern later that they called them slash style but that’s probably not the official name. What you said sounds much more likely. Glad you enjoyed the video!

My favorite I think is the peppermint robe/jacket, and I would probably wear that over slacks and a top, or jeans and a tshirt. Maybe I'll make more than one! I just downloaded it, which means I'm going to use it! Thanks again. So glad you are back with us!♥🧵♥🧵

I agree about necklines being a bit lower. I don't like them that close to my neck. The Connie skirt is my favorite. It looks comfortable and cool. Exactly right for hot and humid summer weather.

Thank you so much for sharing these cute free summer patterns for us. I love a soft flounce or ruffle. So pretty and feminine. We here in Florida go sleeveless most of the year. Every conceivable arm shape and size is on display. Big and little, old and young, flabby and toned, freckled and porcelain . . . it doesn't matter. Comfort and beating the heat is the name of the game! These patterns are perfect for that. Thanks again for your hard work and dedication. It is certainly appreciated.

I hadn't noticed the FS Avery Shirt Dress before. The pattern instructions say they used 2 yards of IL019 COBALT FS Signature Finish Medium Weight Linen, so heavier than chambray. I like the solid blue.
I can't stand a high neck or anything touching my throat.

🧵🧵🧵🧵🧵THANK YOU THANK YOU. Its summer and I was getting so to tired of seeing cute dresses then going to get the pattern and it didn't have my size. My sew jo has gone, so that doesn't help either. I watched one of your vids about plus size patterns, and Cashmerette appealed to me because of the bust sizing. I'm very big busted, and I truly hate grading patterns. This video showcased a few garments I had seen, but not in my size. You have a new sub now. Thank for reigniting my sewing fire, because I was about to put the machine and overlocker in the loft 😂 oh and as for frills, I don't care if the pattern doesn't call for it... I'm putting a frill on it .... and pockets!! Apologies for long post! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Hi Claire, the Avery shirt dress is most probably linen. Fabric Store is a linen manufacturer, they have wonderful fabrics, way too expensive to ship to Europe. So all their patterns I know - I made a shirt called Chelsea from a free pattern they offer - are actually for linen. But of course the garments can also be made from other fabrics, and your idea with the chambray is a good one.

    • @Penguinandpear

Good to know! And that makes sense. I hadn’t really looked into their shop so thanks for pointing that out.
