I would certainly join a membership. I like the idea of asking a question and you can make a short video about it.
I get a lot of abused birds in last few months en some of them have some health issues like bumblefeet, primary wing feathers that get thrown off every time they almost grown etc. Some issues I would love to have some decent videos about to learn how to solve them. We unfortunately have no bird expert veterinary to go to and the previous owners would kill the bird if I not take care for the bird.
So I like that idea a lot!

I, for one, am grateful for you and the other Falconer RUclipsrs I know of for all the time you spend to inform us, provide tips, show us your birds and facilities, and everything else! I have often wondered why on earth you do all that, when we benefit but you, well...benefit less. The least I can do is tell you there are falconers in Germany who appreciate your work! My husband and I are both followers.
As an aside, the wind doesn't bother me, though you've probably edited out the worst of it. We've spent time in Scotland and know that wind is simply part of the deal. 🙂 Cheers from fans in Germany!

Would love to see some of the more unusual species flying and even trying to get them to hunt - the black chested buzzard eagle would be great to see flying. Would also be cool to see if you could get one of our lesser regarded UK birds like a kestrel or common buzzard entered at something.

Dave your channel is doing great loads of helpful information you have provided. I do have an idea for you as for footage maybe on board camra on birds In high soreing thermals. Or maybe like a live broadcast where people ask you questions bit like a podcast. Just ideas for you if it helps

As per another comment, i think it helps "the algorithm" if more viewers just reach a thumb over to the 'like' button...i do it every time!
BTW, it also helps when people let the video run to the end, so that every second adds to the "hours watched" total. I'm not sure how much it helps, but maybe a click through to advertisers, just click to their site and hang on a few seconds...i *think* that click-through adds to the income, or adds to the "desirability" of ads on your channel...

People pay for content in all kinds of areas - cable TV channels, Netflix, Disney, Spotify for music, podcast subscriptions - people should be/are willing to pay for content. You shouldn't be shy about asking for funding for the content you create. Getting £100 a month is a joke. RUclips (part of Alphabet/Google, obviously) generated $31 *Billion* dollars last year from ad sales - and that ad revenue wouldn't exist without your (and others') free content! You make the content and creators get peanuts.
You'll know what content gets engagement and reach, so do more of that stuff! Short 'top tips' videos using old footage you already have might help, a few 'Top 10' and 'Do's and Don'ts' using stills might work (you'll know better than anyone). And you could maybe use free open-source software to edit footage and reduce wind noise with sound editing features. DaVinci Resolve is worth a look.
Anyway, loving your work, the Harris hawk series was terrific.

Dave how do you keep your birds safe from predators such as foxes, especially when on the lawn? Or even rats at night?

Nowadays I freeloft mostly and only have them tethered when we are out there too. When I ran them from home I’d mix up big birds and little ones on weathering lawn . Nowadays you can get quite cheap wired enclosures if you google

Wow Dave your channel is doing well, mine is not generating that, it’s more like £20 a month with one video a week, and filming daily many hours editing all week lol.
I’m being TAXed double UK and America something to do with a tex residency form, I can’t seem to sort this out.
RUclips algorithm is strange especially how a new video is shared and old ones just sit there, not good.
Iv seen some channels where people can buy you a coffee, kind of nice, I have done this on some other channels I watch my self.
I think your sound and filming is very good, overall it’s amazing from a phone.
This channel deserves more so I hope you get some good ideas and all makes a difference.

    • @falconry.davesharpenatureboy
      @falconry.davesharpenatureboy  6 месяцев назад +1

£20; £100 when you think of the time editing and indeed filming , and the kit you buy just for it , it costs a fair bit to run a channel eh. Like everything there’s always more kit you need !

Are you an American citizen? If som you're a bitbsone for, but, if not, but you're getting paid feom ghe USA, there is a form that you can do to stop them taking the USA "non-resident tax" i had to muck about with it for my stock photo agency income, when i was withr Tony Stone/Getty...it's a bit of a pain, but the USA likes to siphon off every penny they can!

Hi Dave - £100 per month well over paid!!!
I saw a channel on RUclips that had a tip jar displayed on the screen, where viewers could make a donation to support the channel (this was done during a live chat session). Could you could possibly set a goal via this method to raise funding for a drone to help make better contact. While not a permanent funding stream it may help in the short term with the tech and get you up and running with, say a DJI Mini 4. You had also thought about running a falconry weekend, did you ever get a chance to think any more about it?
