They should have anti gravity training where they learn the best ways to navigate the space station, and fix it. It wouldn't be very hard, but it would be fun.
Yeah, give them astronaut training too. That would be something to watch.
That comes as soon as the US actually develops useful spacefaring technology. These guys will never be in space. Once the US is ready and has the need for regular space travel, they'll pick 20 year olds then.
These guys will spend their careers guarding military bases and sitting at drone terminals at best. Maybe some badass data entry.
The dates stamped on the bottom of my green canteens at boot camp were 1964 and 1967, my canteens went to Vietnam and probably every place since

In the fleet I've seen canteens used as spittoons for Copenhagen.
Not even gonna lie. Having the spaceforce go through airforce basic would be a smart idea, just expand Lackland AFB to have spaceforce training battalions run by airforce instructors until they get their own. Would be a cost saving measure too, and it would arguably be better run that way.
Space force does go through air force basic training.
I think the training is so relaxed in order to encourage people to join the Space Force. I think it's pretty much a marketing and recruitment strategy.
I just graduated Air Force BMT 2 weeks ago and space force is trained with the Air Force. They are integrated into our flights but out of 734 that graduated with me only 1 person was in the Space Force. And they don’t call them Trainees they call them guardians which is hilarious cause they are the guardians of the galaxy

Well funny thing, in that game those on ships were using Navy ranks and ground troops were all marines. So none of them were even a separate branch lmao
By the time the space force looks like Infinite Warfare, we won’t even be alive. Space combat is based with weaponized satellite hacking and transmissions. And the only weapon in space is a laser weapon meant to take down satellites that are about to crash down to earth. I don’t see why space force members need training at all if they aren’t even going to experience combat.

Space force does sound dumb however has an important role. For starters, their job is to help protect satelites and space stations, however their bigger jobs is cyber, and surveillance. So detecting missiles, etc. Because their job is quite literally viewing everything everyone is doing is what makes space force important is because if we had people likerussia send in nukes or just missiles, we would easily detect them, and get people to safety before destruction happens.
We've been able to detect ICBMs since the 70s, big reason for Patriot systems

Also addition, because the graduations were televised/streamed, we were told to adjust the mask to be over our nose since the cameras catching us improperly masked is APPARENTLY the end of the world

Space Force is definitely not issued IPADs in BMT, they have and go through the same Basic Training as the Air Force at Lackland, I had multiple guardians in my flight and can assure we and they did not see any technology besides our phone call and class time.
No one got issued iPads. We used them once to take a survey.
I have a freind in AF basic training and yes he told us that they were given iPads. Kinda crazy. He also said some recuits got in trouble for trying to download apps outside what they were told they could have. No surprise on that last part.

Space command only volunteers for deployments in the air force. When you get prp you get your status suspended during deployment.

I was in Army Intelligence (oxymoron, I know), and this is nothing like what we went through in basic. I know we didn't go through the same sort that the soldiers at Benning did, but we were trained by Infantry Drill Sgts, and told that we had to learn to be soldiers first, Intel second. We learned how to fire rifles, throw grenades.
My job specifically, we deployed with infantry all the time, and patrolled with them in country. We hardly ever saw the inside of the Intel tent.
This Space Force "basic" is a joke.
I know! I went through Concentration Charlie in AIT and the training we did compared to THIS was fucking hell. I bet these guys got a good night’s sleep too. Fucking… “Guardians”.
I'm kinda confused though. Are the "recruits" already service members? If so, there's no point going through the same basic twice since they went through it when they joined other branches. But if they're directly coming from the civilian side, then yes, I agree. They'll need to be able to defend themselves when their bases are under attack. Even the Finance corps in the Amry learn how to be a soldier first: not because they'll be fighting with the Rangers, but because there are times when they need to use weapons to defend themselves while being deployed..
Hi - Space Force guy here. Right now USSF basic training is USAF BMT w/ special USSF academics. They're not showing the MTIs roasting them at the moment. Remember that this is during COVID, so BMT had no families, etc. No dress right dress because of social distancing. I will say I have a friend who was an MTI and he was not happy with how BMT has become. And they said "Semper Supra" - always above.

If knew that I'd get a chance to be a Space Marine I'd have stayed in the Corps. _Every_ badass sci-fi series/game has Space Marines. Starcraft, Warhammer 40k, Halo, Starship Troopers, the original Doom Guy is a Space Marine, the Alien franchise. Need I say more?

I think everyone there has already went through their own branches Basic Training.. this was just a refresher course and focused on retraining school. I am perfectly fine with that.
You would think space force would be like astronaut training. And require extremely high intelligence.
I believe that they ran out of the green canteens, because when I went through we got canteens for BEAST week (The week before graduation, which is what 90% of this video shows), also the MTIs are generally make it more stressful than the Cadres do. Also we do go through Air Force BMT, and then we go to technical school, and at the end the 7 yelled Semper Supra.

Lol it’s crazy I went through Air Force BMT in 2016 and it had its moments where it could be stressful but overall rather easy they push you through for the most part. I didn’t think they could make it much easier haha

Went through BMT with the kid with black long hair. Was in the same flight and shit and it was a joke bc of Covid. We couldn’t do a lot of stuff we normally would. But this was just one day at BEAST. Our actual MTIs got in our face. Yelled at us made us do all the stuff. BEAST was a joke though. It really was just a hang out for 3 days

This makes me happy we have the ARMY and Marines! I feel like we would be dead if it was just them protecting us.
Well no shit it is the "Space Force".
On the modern battlefield marines and soldiers are no more than cannon fodder on their own.
USSF protect american space assets, and have the ability to spy on the enemy in the digital domain.
The digital domain is their domain, and you control that from space.
Today, in order to win the battle on the ground you need air superiority which is only possible against an advanced adversary, say china, by also controlling the digital domain.

You need all of the branches to win a war. Army and Marines can't operate without the air support and airspace control the Air Force provide, nor without the intelligence that the Space Force will no doubt provide being an all intel branch. Vice versa, Air Force and Navy can't win a war with just air and sea control. You need boots on the ground to actually take things.
As much as the branches love bashing each other, all of them have a role to play. This is exemplified in that technically speaking none of the branches themselves go to war really. They "organize, train and equip" forces and then dispatch said forces to geographic combatant commands. (Exact situation and units depending)
@@strengthinunity4322 Marines can provide their own fixed wing CAS, no need from the AF. If anything they’d receive augmentation by the Navy.
