like I said in my comment, I can't help but contrast that first sketch with the relationship between Chauncey and his father in the previous short film. Whereas Chauncey's father is clearly very intellectual and wants to nourish that same intellectualism and curiosity about the world in his son, the dad in this one is an uncaring, self-centered, meathead asshole who cares more about disgusting porn than his own kid, and sees his son's budding intellect and thoughtful nature as a threat and an aberration that must be destroyed rather than encouraged. And while Chauncey is, by mainstream society's standards, a "freak" or "abomination", a creature literally born from a human mating with a sock, his father still wants him to feel accepted and to grow as a person despite it all, whereas this kid's father basically treats him like a "freak" or "abomination" simply for having deep thoughts about the world.
I wonder if it could represent the cycle of abuse. Perhaps the dad was once like the boy, full of thoughts surrounding the world and himself. But then he too was hit with a stupid spike and could no longer care about anything besides meaningless TV.

A lot has been packed into this 35 minute video and it's certainly no accident this was posted on the 14th. I think it is a musing, a critique, of the current misconceptions and coping mechanisms that are awry of the American Society, as well as other countries out there. The first bit with the father and child is quite interesting in regards to this. To analyze, the father took to a form of pornography (Birdies) instead of his wife. A quick, easy, addictive entertainment that can cut the edge off. In this decision to pursue it however, he becomes attached to it and inevitably becomes married to it. The relationship between him and his wife has been changed, and so she leaves him. As any addiction does to a person, it turns the father more selfish, dependent on it, and irritable when anything interrupts his interaction with it. Moving on to the interaction with his son. The son displays innocence, freedom and uncontrolled by the adult world. For his father to recoil reading the passage of Moby Dick only exemplifies his rotted mind of his relationship with porn. His kid doesn't see this within this passage, he sees it’s true meaning, and explains it himself! Now this is where it gets interesting...I don’t think the father is stupid. Stupidity is a choice. I think he is too insecure about himself to understand the passage, too selfish to listen to his son. He just wants to get back to his porno...and then hits his son with the stupid spike! This object could symbolize many things. Giving a child a smart phone to go dumb over, to absorb all the pleasures of the internet and such...It could also symbolize rejection, trauma maybe, but I think this is less likely the answer. These things don’t make one stupid, it makes one fearful. How I see this interaction is how I see tired a parent who gives their child their phone to play in the store. The parent has had a long day and doesn’t care anymore, they “just” want to feel better in that moment, and so they give their child their phone to shut them up! In the long scheme of things, both are damaged, as the parent neglects their child as well as their own job as a parent. One chooses to be stupid on the information of their child and their needs, and such both become stupider. One by choice, the other by dependency. Moving on to the second bit with the grandma. Not fully sure how to feel about it. To me, it’s about one of the biggest weaknesses of men; lust. It is ingrained in us on a biological level, and it is very easy to manipulate. This is what this story tells me, that men are highly susceptible to lust that even something so obviously disgruntling, so disgusting, can get a vulnerable man under. And it does kill a man in many ways, depending on what type of lust, what type of situation befalls a man. For the women-in-mask to be upset is only natural, this sort of event has ruined relationships for centuries. It takes a person of great strength to resist, or one of great strength to come out of that killing, that manipulation of the mind. They can only be brought back to life with help, with comradery, with a tribe of others who have had the same experience prior. Can’t say I understand the part where the grand-daughter is frightened...maybe she finally realizes who her grandma really is like all these years? As for the small bit afterwards, I think treatsforbeast was just having a brain fart :D The next bit, the screaming babies one, is definitely an elegy. It goes back to his most popular video, “beasts”. To me, this skit is the sadness of the director for all the babies without fathers, all the wives who were abandoned, and all the cities that house all the broken relationships of this world. For Roii to have one eye red, it’s almost like he’s lost a part of his humanity, to impregnate women for his own selfish desires, only to leave them and his kid behind. The song’s got this stoic-ness to it, but then when you get to the interview, Roii’s totally insecure and awkward! Maybe he knows what the song is about is pretty fucked up and doesn't feel comfortable about anymore? Maybe this whole skit is a critique on the whole music industry as a whole, what many of the popular songs promote? (rape, violence, gratuitous sex, etc.) Aaaaah yes, the longest bit, Dr. Zoughth., completing the point of this video. A critique on religion, misconception of love, possibly running away from issues (as Tom explains at the end.) It’s all so...wrong, and yet masses flock to this, going so far as to create establishments to have a false self-validation of this gross fetish. Dr. Zoughth goes TOO far, and will destroy those who oppose his views, creating a vicious cycle of his own sickness. He fully believes in his religion, and isn't faking his emotions one bit. That’s why he and Tom don’t wear masks. The others with the masks are only fooling themselves. They are running away from their issues, like what led them to this fetish in the first place. Tom is the only other one that’s being real, the only rational one that isn't running away from his problems. What Dr. Zoughth is doing is manipulative and disgusting, promoting more or less a false religion and false comfort to a very broken following. And to add to the tragedy, he is only playing himself. He isn’t finding happiness, or fulfillment out of this. Only momentary pleasure. He no longer can face this reality, as he kills the very conscious that is speaking to him, Tom. And to add to the irony, He is ultimately killed by his own creation. His very disciples kill him, and judging by their white garb at the end and the imprint of Zoughth’s face, the cycle is renewed again, out to disease other vulnerable people out there. So what might be treatsforbeasts is trying to tell us? Considering this is posted on valentines day, I think this is how he feels about the misconception of what a good relationship is these days, and the coping of pain and suffering. The relationship between pornography, fetishes, selfish desires, and the tragedy before and after it all. We are all broken, and we all seek happiness and fulfillment. Many of us don’t know what it is, and many of us think it’s one thing when it really is another. Many of us learn from our mistakes and become better people, many follow the pattern, the cycle, and go down an intensely dark and bleak path. But there is always hope, always a chance for someone to change, no matter how far down the rabbit hole they are. We, as a human race, are doomed to repeat ourselves, but we can always move past those mistakes and do what we can to raise a smart and strong legacy. The world ain’t over yet.
TFB is one of the reasons I personally have any hope left. Knowing that there's people out there that understand some of this stuff and choose to demonstrate it in such a passionate and intelligent way is why I know life's still worth it. We've got a lot of growing to do, but it's worth it.
yeeeeeeeeah, i take issue with your second point? The idea that men were 'born lustful' is pretty harmful. Humans have sexual desires, this is true, but the problem isn't that Tom was coming onto the grandma because he's a ravenous sex fiend who can't be satisfied. He was clearly uncomfortable with her presence and clearly didn't want to be near her. Yet, she forced him anyway. The scene reads more as a rape scene, with Tom being raped by the grandmother, than whatever it was you said. Men aren't just a penis attached to a body. They still have wills and desires outside of sex, and it's not that hard for them to ignore or push against sexual desires, either. Your thesis statement is not only fundamentally flawed in that paragraph, but also fails to read the actual text of the scene. edit: tom also disputes the idea of needing to follow base desires in his dialogue with Dr. Zoughth, and is the voice of reason *against* being lustful and listening to bestial instincts.

thank you a lot people or person behind the ThreatsForBeasts channel, the work in this channel and the sanguinarius music has inspired me a lot and my excitement was pretty much immeasurable when i saw that this film was uploaded, i really enjoyed it has lots of similarities and interesting ideas and a silly plot. the last story was really interesting and made me think, it sorta resembled a religion, where the people in masks are blind followers of something and Tom who disliked it and expressed that, got removed, like many religions/cults do nowdays, and the leader didnt have a mask either so that might mean he doesnt enjoy what he is doing and clearly knows he is wrong. i tought that the last film ''threats for beasts'' was the last one, thankfully you are still active and im really looking forwards to other films and music that comes from you. the sanguinarius music is one of the best ive listened and i pretty much listen to it every day. very inspirational, thank you (my favorite artist/s)

I don't know if anyone will read this but oh well, I've had a lot of thoughts piling up about the first part of this fever dream of a film. I am sorry for how pretentious it's going to sound but I just love this video a lot. I've wondered if the son isn't a literal son but represents an aspect of the dad that he killed in himself, and with that any potential of overcoming his deeply rooted insecurities that you've shown so well. I got this impression because the "son" was an oddly mature-sounding doll that knew exactly what to say. Also really like how when the Dad was reading Moby Dick, it was something completely different and pornographic because we were hearing the text from his skewed point of view. The way he nonchalantly lobotomised the doll low-key messed me up ahah, because losing one's self and identity from brain damage is one the scariest things out there for me. I've been trying to figure out how this translates to a real life case besides plain ol' abuse. Someone in the comments mentioned ruining the son's intellect by giving him distractions like digital devices, but that feels far too mild for an allegory(?) that carries such a disturbing feeling-- casual violence directed at a delicate/innocent, bright and budding mind. This is coming from someone whose Dad also shut them up with digital devices in my childhood-- I hate the problems I developed as a result but it's just not the same. I also found it hilarious how the dad was making an effort to listen but picked up the hammer the moment the son mentioned gays. That's all for now, I think I'll vomit up more thoughts later.
Another thought: upon re-listening to Sanguinarius (Sin Nomine), the lyrics in Storytime strongly reminded me of this. "Fast hand, white hot trauma, reverberates inside the skull Innocence and intellect raped, reveals a view of a darker world" Which makes me wonder if tfb was telling the same story here.
After watching this, I have put thought into what it oculd all mean. The first part shows an ignorant father that wishes only to consume the mindless slop served to him, and when his son wishes to enlighten his father with schools of thought that make him go out of his comfort zone. The son tries to look into things and go in depth and explore the meanings of life, while the dad rejects all of this, taking what he can at surface level and rejecting anything else his son says. The father then stupifies his son, so he no longer has to hear these thoughts, and continues to consume the tv garbage given to him, only to be punished when he returns, seeing the series is now never airing again. The following part features a woman trying to introduce her new bf to her grandma, only for the grandma to seemingly hypnotise then kill her granddaughter's bf. The woman is then upset at this and complains, causing the grandma to "cry" and do something that frightens the woman and causes her to flee. This could be symbolic of someone introducing something new to an older setting, only for it to be bashed down like other attempts at doing the same thing, and causing her to recoil in fear. The 3rd part features a man singing about enjoying the sound of screaming babies, and how he impregnates women so he can hear more screaming babies. After this we are shown an interview, where he claims to have worked with Trent Reznor, only to describe Trent doing something unchaicteristic of Trent. He then gets a bit nervous and calls off the interview. This could possibly show people being unashamed of doing something morally deplorable, but when they are directly put against the wall, they sing a different tune and try to shift any negative attention off themselves. The last part features a man hosting a cult of sorts, kind of forming a religion around scat. When a man rejects this religion and, by proxy, the leader's ideology, he is captured and put into a deathtrap where he will die. Before he dies, he question's the leader's morals and sanity, saying he places too much value and honor on material and insignficiant things to give his life more meaning, and that sometimes he should just accept things as they are, and not look into things too much. The leader then rejects this and has him killed anyway. This is the opposite of the first part, where an ignorant man makes hi son dumb do to forcing him out of his comfort zone and filtered view of the world. In both of these parts, both the dad and the cult leader are morally in the wrong, yet they have contrasting views. At the end of the 4th part, the cult leader is assassinated by his cohort, and his body fed to the grandma seen in the 2nd part. I feel like there is an underlieing and ongoing message to this whole thing, but I am too tired to think of it's full meaning right now. Its very interesting, and I think this is a really nice work of art. Keep up the good work, beasts
I love the way you characterize Roii in this one. As a balkaner, I think you perfectly capture the attitude of someone whose English language capabilities fail to express what he's trying to describe (the finger pointing, vocal gestures, saying "eh" to emphasize a point, etc.) It's very accurate and I find it affectionate, too.

The song’s got this stoic-ness to it, but then when you get to the interview, Roii’s totally insecure and awkward! Maybe he knows what the song is about is pretty fucked up and doesn't feel comfortable about anymore? Maybe this whole skit is a critique on the whole music industry as a whole, what many of the popular songs promote? (rape, violence, gratuitous sex, etc.)
Aaaaah yes, the longest bit, Dr. Zoughth., completing the point of this video. A critique on religion, misconception of love, possibly running away from issues (as Tom explains at the end.) It’s all so...wrong, and yet masses flock to this, going so far as to create establishments to have a false self-validation of this gross fetish. Dr. Zoughth goes TOO far, and will destroy those who oppose his views, creating a vicious cycle of his own sickness. He fully believes in his religion, and isn't faking his emotions one bit. That’s why he and Tom don’t wear masks. The others with the masks are only fooling themselves. They are running away from their issues, like what led them to this fetish in the first place. Tom is the only other one that’s being real, the only rational one that isn't running away from his problems. What Dr. Zoughth is doing is manipulative and disgusting, promoting more or less a false religion and false comfort to a very broken following. And to add to the tragedy, he is only playing himself. He isn’t finding happiness, or fulfillment out of this. Only momentary pleasure. He no longer can face this reality, as he kills the very conscious that is speaking to him, Tom. And to add to the irony, He is ultimately killed by his own creation. His very disciples kill him, and judging by their white garb at the end and the imprint of Zoughth’s face, the cycle is renewed again, out to disease other vulnerable people out there.
So what might be treatsforbeasts is trying to tell us? Considering this is posted on valentines day, I think this is how he feels about the misconception of what a good relationship is these days, and the coping of pain and suffering. The relationship between pornography, fetishes, selfish desires, and the tragedy before and after it all. We are all broken, and we all seek happiness and fulfillment. Many of us don’t know what it is, and many of us think it’s one thing when it really is another. Many of us learn from our mistakes and become better people, many follow the pattern, the cycle, and go down an intensely dark and bleak path. But there is always hope, always a chance for someone to change, no matter how far down the rabbit hole they are. We, as a human race, are doomed to repeat ourselves, but we can always move past those mistakes and do what we can to raise a smart and strong legacy. The world ain’t over yet.

yeeeeeeeeah, i take issue with your second point? The idea that men were 'born lustful' is pretty harmful. Humans have sexual desires, this is true, but the problem isn't that Tom was coming onto the grandma because he's a ravenous sex fiend who can't be satisfied. He was clearly uncomfortable with her presence and clearly didn't want to be near her. Yet, she forced him anyway. The scene reads more as a rape scene, with Tom being raped by the grandmother, than whatever it was you said.
Men aren't just a penis attached to a body. They still have wills and desires outside of sex, and it's not that hard for them to ignore or push against sexual desires, either. Your thesis statement is not only fundamentally flawed in that paragraph, but also fails to read the actual text of the scene.
edit: tom also disputes the idea of needing to follow base desires in his dialogue with Dr. Zoughth, and is the voice of reason *against* being lustful and listening to bestial instincts.

thank you a lot people or person behind the ThreatsForBeasts channel, the work in this channel and the sanguinarius music has inspired me a lot and my excitement was pretty much immeasurable when i saw that this film was uploaded, i really enjoyed it has lots of similarities and interesting ideas and a silly plot. the last story was really interesting and made me think, it sorta resembled a religion, where the people in masks are blind followers of something and Tom who disliked it and expressed that, got removed, like many religions/cults do nowdays, and the leader didnt have a mask either so that might mean he doesnt enjoy what he is doing and clearly knows he is wrong. i tought that the last film ''threats for beasts'' was the last one, thankfully you are still active and im really looking forwards to other films and music that comes from you. the sanguinarius music is one of the best ive listened and i pretty much listen to it every day. very inspirational, thank you (my favorite artist/s)

I don't know if anyone will read this but oh well, I've had a lot of thoughts piling up about the first part of this fever dream of a film. I am sorry for how pretentious it's going to sound but I just love this video a lot.
I've wondered if the son isn't a literal son but represents an aspect of the dad that he killed in himself, and with that any potential of overcoming his deeply rooted insecurities that you've shown so well. I got this impression because the "son" was an oddly mature-sounding doll that knew exactly what to say. Also really like how when the Dad was reading Moby Dick, it was something completely different and pornographic because we were hearing the text from his skewed point of view.
The way he nonchalantly lobotomised the doll low-key messed me up ahah, because losing one's self and identity from brain damage is one the scariest things out there for me. I've been trying to figure out how this translates to a real life case besides plain ol' abuse. Someone in the comments mentioned ruining the son's intellect by giving him distractions like digital devices, but that feels far too mild for an allegory(?) that carries such a disturbing feeling-- casual violence directed at a delicate/innocent, bright and budding mind. This is coming from someone whose Dad also shut them up with digital devices in my childhood-- I hate the problems I developed as a result but it's just not the same.
I also found it hilarious how the dad was making an effort to listen but picked up the hammer the moment the son mentioned gays.
That's all for now, I think I'll vomit up more thoughts later.

After watching this, I have put thought into what it oculd all mean. The first part shows an ignorant father that wishes only to consume the mindless slop served to him, and when his son wishes to enlighten his father with schools of thought that make him go out of his comfort zone. The son tries to look into things and go in depth and explore the meanings of life, while the dad rejects all of this, taking what he can at surface level and rejecting anything else his son says. The father then stupifies his son, so he no longer has to hear these thoughts, and continues to consume the tv garbage given to him, only to be punished when he returns, seeing the series is now never airing again. The following part features a woman trying to introduce her new bf to her grandma, only for the grandma to seemingly hypnotise then kill her granddaughter's bf. The woman is then upset at this and complains, causing the grandma to "cry" and do something that frightens the woman and causes her to flee. This could be symbolic of someone introducing something new to an older setting, only for it to be bashed down like other attempts at doing the same thing, and causing her to recoil in fear. The 3rd part features a man singing about enjoying the sound of screaming babies, and how he impregnates women so he can hear more screaming babies. After this we are shown an interview, where he claims to have worked with Trent Reznor, only to describe Trent doing something unchaicteristic of Trent. He then gets a bit nervous and calls off the interview. This could possibly show people being unashamed of doing something morally deplorable, but when they are directly put against the wall, they sing a different tune and try to shift any negative attention off themselves. The last part features a man hosting a cult of sorts, kind of forming a religion around scat. When a man rejects this religion and, by proxy, the leader's ideology, he is captured and put into a deathtrap where he will die. Before he dies, he question's the leader's morals and sanity, saying he places too much value and honor on material and insignficiant things to give his life more meaning, and that sometimes he should just accept things as they are, and not look into things too much. The leader then rejects this and has him killed anyway. This is the opposite of the first part, where an ignorant man makes hi son dumb do to forcing him out of his comfort zone and filtered view of the world. In both of these parts, both the dad and the cult leader are morally in the wrong, yet they have contrasting views. At the end of the 4th part, the cult leader is assassinated by his cohort, and his body fed to the grandma seen in the 2nd part. I feel like there is an underlieing and ongoing message to this whole thing, but I am too tired to think of it's full meaning right now. Its very interesting, and I think this is a really nice work of art.

As a balkaner, I think you perfectly capture the attitude of someone whose English language capabilities fail to express what he's trying to describe (the finger pointing, vocal gestures, saying "eh" to emphasize a point, etc.) It's very accurate and I find it affectionate, too.
