this hit home for me because early this year i was tormented a lot by extreme pessimism and nightmares. like one scary dream that stood out to me in particular was one where an echoey voice started commanding me things and told me not to look behind. I'm doing a little better now but i still get haunted by this absolute hopelessness sometimes. in any case, this guy should consider submitting this video to indie film festivals, as someone who has worked with indie filmmakers, i'm 100% serious ;)

I...damn... these kinds of videos really make you question your place in the world, like an emotion that makes you feel voiceless. I've done a lot of memorable things in my life, but I never felt complete because I've yet to create stuff from my own head (like Games and stuff, idk). I've just been waiting for the time when I feel like I'm ready to learn the tools I'm curious to use, only to wish I did it sooner. I've been pretty silent, just an observer who wishes to make a footprint no matter how small, something that people would remember and talk about.
I sympathize with this a lot and yeah for some reason taking that plunge is hard even though there’s nothing real holding us back. We’ve just gotta do it, just commit and don’t second-guess or look back.

yes! im glad you guys made another film, i was so excited when saw the notification. the ambient soundtrack as always is amazing and clearly sanguinariu's handwriting, as the specific sounds are unique to them, really wish i could listen to them separately. amazing camerawork as usual, very cinematic. the story is very interesting puzzling, lots of material to be analised.
So after a second watch here is what I have gathered I presume because Adrian went to the mirror because of a bad omen from his bird mask friend (the gun) he decided it’s time to break the cycle by going to the mirror, however because it was a bad omen, he saw bad things causing him to go home and presumably shoot himself. I don’t know the significance behind naming the character Adrian, but I assume there is one. Along with the video on the screen at the beginning. I believe the main point of the movie though is even if you have depression. Don’t look for happiness, you cannot find it. Look to be content with the life you’re living and looking back on everything, at the end, will be blissful.

The boulder in the woods, is in Madison, NH. Based on the amount of snow on the ground and state of the trees I suspect the day is sometime in early December...tho I suspect it wasn’t filmed at 3:33PM sharp.
Beast, can we ever hope to have the soundtracks for your short films released? Because I know they're made on Fruityloops (I think) but they're really good soundscapes. Maybe like, a lofi beasts compilation to treat to? By the way, I think while it lacks a certain degree of subtlety and it is a bit hokey in execution, the dialogue between Adrian and his soul is... breathtaking, and one of the best verbal discussions about life I've heard. It's uncompromisingly bleak, like fighting against a darkness you cannot refute, yet knowing that there is light despite everything - It is just so black and horrid that it's hard to see beyond. It is clear that this story is an allegory for depression and covid's effects on people with mental health issues, and if it's not it fits with the theme of mental health very well. I also think there's a lot of value in this piece as a question about the value of living through despair and depression. Greater men have failed to grasp life before us, what chance do we have to set things right in this oh so broken world, what chance do we have to make a life worth living? There is no easy answer to this question. But one thing is certain. It's exactly when people believe that things can't get worse, that they let things get worse.
There are yet to be discovered words that can justifiably describe the magnificent achievement that is this channel. Thank you for sharing your art and soul.
after five viewings, i believe that i was so fucking wrong previously, and could be here. and OH BOY i have a lot to say, cant wait to explain myself again with a new theory a year fom. ow i think the opening shot is life, and it coming to an end, as its reflected by the time passing and it being leafless when Adrian is walking in the woods, right before he makes the choice to end his own life. but, the second shot, is adrian looking at a grave. I think this is possibly tratsforbeasts standing next to the real grave of Adrian Turcher, who i believe made Hymms for Him II with Treatsforbeasts. The servants for the master are probably immitations of the spirit and conciousness. I believe a take away were suppose to have from the vodoo lady, about many things, which im not going to put into words, is dont abuse substances. theres a cut away/fade away, to a mermaid with snake hair, and on the mirror there seem to be two things i see as sea creatues, the light candle represents life, black represents death. The wind blows from the way of the white candle goes, cuts before hand.
