At least the child should have a safety helmet, any fall could cause severe head injury.
Anything new is suspect. The weight of this baby seems to be within the limits of the Brompton bag, it's perfectly safe. Front impacts are not common. I've personally loaded my bag to over 20 Kg. Most importantly, the kid loves seeing the world under dads' watchful eye.
This. Plus it's a pedestrian street, the risk of accident is close to zero. People need to stop seeing bikes as these dangerous things that require a ton of safety equipment. They don't. In these conditions they're just as safe as walking.
