Tbh Vegeta was a clown in cell saga
Seeing Vegeta react to his Son dying after Cell killed him and then attacking Cell is easily one of the best moments Vegeta has ever had. It always gives me chills to see him break his usual “I don’t care” attitude. I honestly believe that after this happened, it taught him to never take his family for granted which is why he treats his family differently after this moment.
And to think, king Vegeta would’ve just been scared for his sons life is king cold or Frieza did this to him 💀💀💀 crazy how the saiyan lineage grew so fast because of a single generation, and not even the whole generation, literally just two of them 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Vegeta should of shown some potential to go SSJ 2 when Cell almost killed him. Like a bit of electricity around his aura
He wasn’t at the edge of his current ssj limits Like goku and gohan they had already pushed the form to its max and was at the limit of what it was capable of doing vegeta had yet to reach that point and unlike gohan had yet to be pushed past that limit in anger
Toriyama will not allow it. Vegeta is a side character ready to be squashed like insect no matter how power ups he do
@@snow1546yea but his rage for Trunks dying, you know his son, another saiyan and somebody he grew to respect as an equal to him, because of his pride to allow Cell to reach his perfect for, so I guess rage at both Trunks dying and him being the catalyst to that, should've enraged him enough to be pushed to reach the same level of POWER but no CONTROL as that's what they really did in the chamber towards the end(Goku and Gohan I mean). So Cell could acknowledge him as a true warrior before taking advantage of his blind rage to sneak attack him, Gohan saves Vegeta from dying because he realizes how strong Vegeta could get as well and still allow Gohan to kill Cell.........again.
Vegeta hasn't truly mastered super Saiyan until trunks got killed
@@Aaroncarter95 except for what your saying makes no sense gohan was pissed because he felt like At every turn he let his friends and family die his dad,chatzue,tien,yamcha,denda,krillin, piccolo,android 16 and his friends were at the edge of dying again so his rage is what pushed him passed his limit but he was at his limit vegeta was not vegeta wasn’t even close to mastering super ssj1 sure he got a rage boost from his son dying and it being his fault but that’s it just because you get angry doesn’t automatically give them a new form they need to be on the edge of their limit same as gokus first ssj transformation also cell was far stronger than vegeta a ssj2 transformation still wouldn’t of put him on the level of even perfect cell let alone super perfect cell

For Vegeta reaction to Trunks' death, as much as I like him monologuing to himself in the OG, I really like what TFS did in the DBZA version. The silence from Vegeta, the ringing, and the muffled voices as if it shows Vegeta isn't thinking about anything else other than his son, it all just makes the moment more impactful.

This is true character development. Vegeta has one of the best father-son moments in the entire franchise. I dare say his relationship with Both Trunks over the entirety of DBZ through to Super was even better than that of Goku and Gohan’s

When Vegeta realizes what Goku did as a father was more than he had ever done, that's when he realizes his pride as a warrior had diminished to the point of narcissism and arrogance.
Ssj2 Vegeta would've been so cool in this anger scene, and seeing him destroying cell would have been even better, but Toriyama said no.

First of all, this fight, like all fights, partially serves as a plot device to help characters grow psychologically or at least bring out their current psychological makeup to the surface for everyone to see. Gohan needs to be the one to destroy Cell because doing so represents his self actualization, which has been something that has been building up since we met him. It represents him coming to terms with who he is. It isn’t Vegeta’s time. His psychology isn’t ready for it. It’s necessary that he consistently loses in moments like this so that he can reflect, which is exactly what happens. If he transformed into a Super Saiyan 2 here, that would have been the worst thing for his character growth. He needs to recognize that the universe doesn’t revolve around him. In my eyes, he doesn’t become a Z Fighter until the moment he gives Gohan the assist by blasting Cell. Doing so is a recognition of the interdependence of all things on one another and is a step in the right direction towards the type of clarity of mind and Goku and Gohan have. It would’ve been bad writing.
I mean turning into a super saiyan or a super saiyan 2 involves anger. So thats why I said it would make sense for vegeta to get ssg2. Watching his son die in front of him realizing that he didnt kill cell when he had the opportunity. Its not that smth involves near him. its just what made the most sense.@@ShaneSur23

He may be a narcisist, but deep down in his heart, he is a good friend and father.
To be fair top royalty in general are not allowed to openly express emotions normally, because when you speak & act you are acting on behalf of your subjects in his case race. Which is why Vegeta can’t openly stand being #2 but over time excepted it to himself.

Because it comes in response to a need, not a desire. Gohan doesn’t love with attachment and therefore is able to love everyone. I mean truly love them. And he needed to realize that he couldn’t depend on anyone else any longer. It was time for him to come into his own and handle the situation. Initially, we see what comes of that. The newly acquired Super Saiyan power goes to his head and he nearly gets the planet destroyed because of this. However, he reflects upon his mistake as he grieves the loss of his father. He needed to carry the story forward on his shoulders because he’s the only one that could. Vegeta was too undeveloped. He was still caught up in his pride and convictions. He needed to be humbled again and again in the most painstaking way possible. This means losing his son due to his own arrogant decisions, regretting that he never empathized him, and being totally helpless to do anything about it, including avenge him. Just because you think it would be cool for a character to do something different doesn’t mean it would serve the story or the development of that character.
