No complaints about foot rests, wipers and vague steering but positive thoughts on handling and power. This from guys who have worked with all the top off-road marques from LR, Mercedes, etc, bodes well for us future owners. An analogue car in a digital world. 😀
Why would it have been such a problem for the steering to have an offroad/onroad setting? And all the switches and the need to memorise the manual to do various tasks? It's like it was built as a throwback to the old defender rather than what the new defender would have been if Land Rover hadn't decided to build a SUV 'defender' instead.
I actually really like it. The only thing that bothers me is the BMW gear lever. Obviously I’m aware of the BMW drivetrain, but in a car like that, it needs a much more utilitarian gear lever. It’s fine if they’re using in a car like the Toyota Supra, but it looks out of place in the Grenadier.
I totally agree Dan. I’m dubious that the BMW engine will hold up to hard work. Ineos are marketing this as a tough work vehicle. LR fitted earlier versions of the 6 pot diesel & that didn’t go well. Why they didn’t select either the VW or Merc 3 litre diesels beats me. Both those have proven track records in commercial vehicles.
An idea for your light bar. What about a bar / tube that looks rugged similar to the side steps. Can bolt on somewhere near the side mirrors (fenders) go up the sides of the windscreen and across the top of the windscreen. The lights can be bolted onto the bar. Could be a neat / rugged design and will help with water catchment problems.
I’ve worked on the automation over in Hambach where the car is built.. got to say the Grenadier is an amazing vehicle.. I’ve just got back from the site and the lwb / xlwb are robust machines.. looking forward to seeing what you guys can do with it..
Stunning motor! Just love it. Whatever you do to it, just keep coming back to its original purpose, its a utility vehicle first and foremost, so it needs to keep that image. Also be mindful of some Customers wanting to use it as a weekend 'overlander', so it is likely to need rooftop tents fitted etc..So any mods to the roof for example, would need to take this into account.
Great to see the smiles on your faces - I have driven one... I know that feeling... we just wait for ours to get off the line, on the boat and southwards to Oz
Wow love the Grenadier nice to see a car with proper switches and buttons inside can’t wait to see what you guys do with it I’m sure it will look amazing once you’ve added your touch 👌🏻
Great video. I currently have one on order, one of the first thing I want to sort is a light pod but with amber flashing lights front and rear for site work. If you could have that as an option I’m sure it would be popular as this is a work horse not just a city cruiser.
As an ex-LR110CSW owner, I'm desperately waiting for mine to be delivered and I'm green with envy that you have been driving a Grenadier on the road. I want a vehicle that lasts longer than a PCP!
I am not familiar with the work of Urban however, it appears they have a reputation of creative , quality work, I like the White vehicle in the show room, as a Life long LR owner an enthusiast , I am excited for the Grenadier , as LR , has slipped away from its Defender roots an gone into , “same as all other SUV” design. I am hopeful to be able to drive an purchase an Eneos Grenadier , excited as , they actually become available in USA 👍
I loved the video and your enthusiasm...I was on the fence about buying one, until I watch your video. You ready could tell you like the vehicle. Well done!
I’d like to see some genuinely practical aftermarket parts from you guys, as opposed to dressing up the Grenadier like a tart’s handbag. A half bulkhead for the 2 seater Utility version would have me knocking on your door, as would a full length split level cargo deck, allowing storage for Pelicases on the bottom (out of sight from prying eyes) and lighter kit on the top deck. Preferably quick release, to allow use full cargo space when needed. Awaiting build date for my 2 seater Utility with eager anticipation.
Option 1. Mine gets delivered in about 2 months. Can’t wait. And this is the first video I’ve seen of the car actually driving on a normal road. Good job boys
19:55 gull windows in the rear with mountable exterior slits and interior surrounds for cuppa on the go, enjoyed the video lads, the only flaw with the genadier was not raising the roof height behind the front seats for bench seat in the rear, Happy trails, 👍🚙👌🇨🇮
The Grenadier looks promising. I have never been a car guy but I have a two door Jeep Wrangler and I LOVE MY JEEP! It is the coolest vehicle on the road and the most capable vehicle off road. I have the back seats out most of the time, so plenty of space for cargo. I LOVE MY JEEP!
Can't wait to see what you guys do to that monster. Saw one of you're audi rs6's up close and I've never seen a car look that good in real life. The carbon all around it looked another level.

Nothing broke? If they tell you that then either they were lying or not testing hard enough. I have my name down for one and can't wait but I don't believe that for a second.

Simon, how about a floating front light bar that is in two parts connected to the front puller/above the door and a gap in the middle then replicate the wing the same way at the back Happy to send a pic Tony Fabs 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
How about the ability to mount a rifle rest in the roof lights using the system on the doors. Also put infrared lights in the light bar. Have the ability to turn off all the lights, including brake with the exception of the infrared ones.
Love the looks of this vehicle (except the tail light), and having it so sturdy, adds so much to it! Last step checked black tin was my favorite. Nice vid guys, seeing parts that will personalise the vehicle makes it even more attractive, this is what made the Wrangler such a success! Partnering with Ineos and providing them with optional mods could be the way to go, as it makes it a lot easier for the customers to put on from new, in stead of throwing stock parts away or store them and order separately... just an idea (must agree with you and Ineos of course). Great work guys! Looking forward to the next one :-)
Great video 👍🏼 just organising mine at the moment in Australia. Getting the old model 23.5 fieldmaster with all the bells & whistles in the same colour but cheaper.
For the light bar... a singular Sentinel lazer lamp (other brands available) in carbon-like eggshell-shaped cowling on each front corner...will not effect the safari windows...then in the centre Evolution ST4 in a pod that sits on the raised area of the roof...thus eliminating the water trap...😁

To be honest never really liked anything Urban or non OEM but this video is probably the best advert for the Grenadier I have seen. Great review it looks like it’s got plenty of poke and is a Solid alternative to the Land Rover offerings.
12:38 people are going to lift these and use 18" wheels with A/t's, if your going to add an arch as aftermarket you'll have to to make sure to come out as much as is necessary for A/t's or mud terrain tires to be legally covered, 😏🤔👍🚙👌🇨🇮
I'd definitely go for the checkered side steps, as a old Defender driver I need to be convinced and I am still waiting for a test drive here in Switzerland which is lined up apparently they have some software issues to clear first......
Just a bit of feedback from someone who drives 4WD vehicles regularly in the Australian bush... the spoiler on the roof at the back will most likely cause vortices in the airflow which will cover the rear windows in dust. Lights above the windscreen result in poorer visibility closer to the front of the vehicle in dusty conditions, like when you're not the lead vehicle in a convoy, so it's more likely the driver will hit rocks and wildlife etc etc. I moved the spotlights from looking over the cab to back on the bullbar on my ute, it was so much better. Of course, if these are just cosmetic accessories for Chelsea tractors it doesn't matter.
Excellent video. Great achievement to have turned around an aftermarket part so quickly. I look forward to seeing what you do with it. I'll probably make a video to shout about your great work 🙌🏾
This vehicle will change the 4x4 world , the Toyota land cruiser amazon or v8 was the best but so expensive. The Ineos Grenadier is a game changer , looking forward to your transformation 👍
To be fair to Toyota I think your prediction may be a tad premature. In Australia Landcruisers have been around for 70 years and have proven their durability over some of the roughest, remotest country imaginable. Maybe in a decade or so we can review the Grenadier's performance.
certainly, hope they produce a 90 version,i always had swb defenders or 90s but sold my last one for a swb shogun warrior ,done like double cab pickups or lwb land rovers too big and bulky for me ,and much prefer them for work on farm and trailer towing
Love the it, light pods make everything look better, would love to see a smooth cornered box section side step that kind of mirrors the edge of the front bumper, a little more utilitarian and aggressive, I know ineos offer a rack but a low profile rack that follows the roofline ( like the prospeed disco 3/4) with intergrated light pods would look insane , also 30mm wheel spacers and extended arches would add so much to the stance of this thing !
Have you tried using a rifle through the roof hatch, and can you modify the footwells so that they don’t collect muck? The Defender has flat tray footwells which shed mud and dirt without thinking about it.
Greetings from Australia. Go drive a 3.0 BMW x5 Diesel twin turbo. That motor is a stonker. Great fuel economy and heaps of grunt I bet you will change your mind on the Ineos power plant.

Hi Simon when do you think you will have a regular supply of these coming into the workshop for the Urban makeover. My 110 UW was great with the Bentley leather etc? Would be very interested.
The first choise as the interior trim for the side steps. And please perhaps make some panels to cover the rear mounting points on the roof simular like the old Defender roof Windows!
My Husband has been waiting for this car for years he is driving me crazy, when he had a heart attack three weeks ago he said in his hospital bed I cant die yet i have got to drive Henno thats the name for his Green Grenadier. Last car he bought was a disco 4 in 2015 and he wont buy another Land Rover and we have been a Land Rover family since 1992 even my daughter drives a 2005 TD5 auto, myself another disco 4. But due to where we live and how we live with dogs, sheep, horses and shooting we just cant use the new modern Land Rovers they just break when you need them most. Lost count how many times we have towed out a new Range Rover from fields, its sounds like an anti Land Rover rant but we have always love them but only up to 2016 then I afraid it was over for us. Long live Land Rover before 2016 and Long live the new king of the road the INEOS GRENADIER.
Love it. I have a new 110 but really like the analogue look especially in this digital world.....😅 Intrigued to see what you do to it. It's a great platform and blank canvas.👍
I would forsurely buy it with some changes outside,33 inch tyres, love those bigger flairs, front bumper can be removed and the bull bar finishing it off,and I would like the 3 litre diesel with free-flow pipes 👍👌
That interior! Wow, just like Si said - kid in a cockpit style! Be interesting to see how you do with this. The stock front needs some work i think - looks a bit plain and you guys could work some "XRS" style magic to that. I think with the decent wheels, the wing additions may suit, but not too big. Light Bar and spoiler look good too. Look forward to more updates!
The petrol version has unbelievable potential for performance upgrades being a B58 found in the M140i, M240i, new Supra and other high performance BMWs.
Morning, I new defender (it's not a defender) is growing on me but it depends on the colour. This is definitely what defender should have been, Landrover have shat on their roots, they are even ditching the landrover name, I hope they do chassis cab versions so companies similar to you can add tray backs, workshop versions ,etc
Love the Grenadier and more that Urban are going to tweak the analogue! Only thing I don’t like is the side profile of the front grille.. Just doesn’t look right! 😁👍🏻🇬🇧
With Urban getting involved with modding the Grenadier, you guys will attract a whole new target client base….very good business move IMO. Love your work guys
Thanks very much

Lost count how many times we have towed out a new Range Rover from fields, its sounds like an anti Land Rover rant but we have always love them but only up to 2016 then I afraid it was over for us. Long live Land Rover before 2016 and Long live the new king of the road the INEOS GRENADIER.
FIRST STEP without doubt 👍👍👍 FADE the front rad lights and rear lights
Love it. I have a new 110 but really like the analogue look especially in this digital world.....😅 Intrigued to see what you do to it. It's a great platform and blank canvas.👍
Would love to see a Cool N Vintage retro take on it. Verde Teverne, Tan Alcantara, Galvanised flashings and bumpers, steel wheels:)
I would forsurely buy it with some changes outside,33 inch tyres, love those bigger flairs, front bumper can be removed and the bull bar finishing it off,and I would like the 3 litre diesel with free-flow pipes 👍👌
i think it would swallow up 35's x 12.50's pretty easily.
Wonderful car awsome professional people and a great video 🎉
That interior! Wow, just like Si said - kid in a cockpit style! Be interesting to see how you do with this. The stock front needs some work i think - looks a bit plain and you guys could work some "XRS" style magic to that. I think with the decent wheels, the wing additions may suit, but not too big. Light Bar and spoiler look good too. Look forward to more updates!
The petrol version has unbelievable potential for performance upgrades being a B58 found in the M140i, M240i, new Supra and other high performance BMWs.
The Mercedes W126 S-Class of the 1980's had two horns. I had them in my 380SEC, it was good fun confusing people in traffic! LOL
I absolutely love this car
This car really is a great merger of analog and digital
Will you be showing an update video to this one. Would love to see the finished upgrade which could make me purchase one of these vehicles.
The Grenadier has grown on me quite a bit, now I’m looking forward to seeing what you guys do with it! Now, only if they would sell it in China 🤞
I think it would look better with separate indicators instead of them built into the DRLs with your light pods and rear spoiler and steps 👍
Morning,
I new defender (it's not a defender) is growing on me but it depends on the colour.
This is definitely what defender should have been,
Landrover have shat on their roots, they are even ditching the landrover name,
I hope they do chassis cab versions so companies similar to you can add tray backs, workshop versions ,etc
Option 5 is raw and simple and fit
Love the Grenadier and more that Urban are going to tweak the analogue! Only thing I don’t like is the side profile of the front grille.. Just doesn’t look right! 😁👍🏻🇬🇧
Loved it 😅 One thing, please make a manly clamp over piece for the BMW gear winky thing. You’ll sell bucket loads to Morgan owners too.
Awesome job guys!!!
Thanks so much!
