It was also personal for him with this film. He felt neglected when he was a Beatle and made clear wasn't going to be in a Beatles reunion even before Lennon's murder.
In the meantime Uncle Sam's two (one ?) party state beat the British Government in that department , which doesn't antimatter much , since Uncle Sam's one party state having instated the dollar as world currency (not longer backed by gold) can print dollars galore at will ...... all with god's blessings offcourse ....
I always guessed....as a bit of "Beatle irony" for this movie...that George decided to break out one of his old custom made(Douglas Millings) Beatle suits...for his job as the interviewer. It would seem like something he would do eh?😉😆 I always felt by the cut and look....that its one of his old suits....
All right George! In fact he was a financial backer of this and other Python films (including "Life of Brian" as well!) But if that's "Big Valerie" - I'd hate to be on the bad side of "Little" Valerie!
The first 30 seconds of this clip is one of my favorite moments of the movie, esp. when Nasty says "Yeah, they couldn't come," which Beatles fans get because you wondered why George and Ringo were not there in NY as well to announce the formation of Apple, as if Apple Records was just John's and Paul's sole idea.....also love Eric Idle getting McCartney's shyness down.
george harrison and ronnie wood. haha. not to mention michael palin, eric idle and neil innes. fuckin hell, I LOVE this movie! too bad keith richards wasent in it, that would be so much fun, even funnier than ronnie and mick
Ironically George never got so old as here.
George famously financed Life of Brian just because "I want to see the movie." He was certainly a great patron of comedy.
He appears in Life of Brian too, although the 'Hello' in a mock Harrisonesque tone - is actually one of the Pythons.
Eric Idol said it was the most expensive movie ticket ever.😅

@@minewheaties5029 He just wanted to kill the fantasy.
"They were losing money faster than the British Government"! Ha ha ha!

I bet if this was playing in the theaters, George would get a standing ovation from moviegoers. He was loved by many.
miss you George
George had a great sense of humor. His early comment about not liking George Martin’s tie won him over. GH is certainly missed.
George Harrison, Michael Palin and Ronnie Wood...gold! Watch out for Big Valerie
An actual Beatle in the Rutles film just think about that
Dear George
We are remembering you this eve & into tomorrow
Jesus that took me way too long to realise that it was George 😂
I watched The Rutles in July, hadn't seen it since 1990 on VHS & my sister kept saying: "that's not George!!"😳🤣😂👍
Unmistakable voice,that George 😁
Palin's clinic on comic timing. Amazing.
George's confusion at the end as he looks at the crew and leans in. 😂😂😂😂
"Instead of a bank" 😂lol...dead funny🍌👍🏻
On this day we remember the wonderful man who was George Harrison. We miss you lots. Rest in peace sweet George. ♡♡
'....bit of....petty pilfering..' at 1:50.
Then the guy comes up and steal the mic.
This film is a classic.
God love George Harrison, Michael Palin & The Rutles!! So hilarious!!😹👍💕💕
That's Ron Wood as the Hell's Angel.

I love the stuffed bear, clunking down each stair, unnoticed!
OMGGGGG that's music royalty George and Ronnnnnn love them both and miss George even more. The whole thing is so funny. Thanks.
Hahaha, Nasty blowed it up!! XD
Great to see George there! I love when the guy takes away his microphone!!!
Oh my gosh, it's George!
George you're the BEST :) hilarious.....rest in peace....thanks for posting!
Lmao George 😂💜💜💜
Ain't that Ronnie Wood doing the punk guy?
Melvorgazh yep
YEP gotta love it!!!
Yup!
No......it was Ron Wood̶s̶ actually.......👍🥴
Bring back the Rutles. Nasty needs to sing again
Dont know if Dirk Mcquickly will be up for it 😀
Sadly Nasty turned his back on the world.
@@ketanfernandes4094 Nasty died (Neil Innes died in 2019).
All right George!
In fact he was a financial backer of this and other Python films (including "Life of Brian" as well!)

Ron Wood as a punk is hilarious. 2:15
This is pretty near the truth!

Great movie George and some of the Pythons together love it. Musics kind of good also
"Well, she'd thump me...' haha, OMG HAHA
To be a fly on the wall watching John Lennon's reactions to each scene.
rip Neil
That's how George Harrison would of looked as an old man
I was today years old when I realized George Harrison is wearing what looks like his early Beatles suit.
Nasty blowing up the clothing boutique Always cracks me up.😂😅
Love the Andy Warhol/Velvet Underground reference in the background
George 💔 having all the fun of giving his money away, AND sending up APPLE (not that one!) 🙏🏻🌹🙏🏽
george harrison and ronnie wood. haha. not to mention michael palin, eric idle and neil innes. fuckin hell, I LOVE this movie! too bad keith richards wasent in it, that would be so much fun, even funnier than ronnie and mick
Mick Jagger was in it.
kyrastube and don’t forget Bianca Jagger and Paul Simon! Not in this scene but anyway...
Nasty was always my favorite
So, Stig injured by Big Valery!
I know I'm writing late, but can someone explain to me the humor behind that line?
Michael Palin's in here too
0:35...this guy reminds me of someone...I just can't quite place it! 😁
John Cleese as George Harrison was spot on, Genius
He had his feet removed for the part. Just amazing.
Who hasn't been thumped by Big Valerie at one time or another?
"The Redditch Hell's Angels." 😂
Dandy Warhols use a variation of the Rutles Corps logo.
Instead of going to a bank
George is like herb Welch but actually does his job right
Michael Palin = the Mayor of Chicago
George made clear he didn't want to be in a Beatles reunion.
"Yeah, he couldn't come."
Give Peas a Chance!
Give Pizza Chance.
Rutle corp.
And the people did just that. They helped themselves.😅😅😅😅
That's what you call irony.. Having a Beatle in a documentary film taking the piss out of the Beatles lol
Anyone know who played Big Valerie? She has the look of someone who became famous as an adult.
This is pretty much what happened to Apple
George so skinny...
Kacema70 he always was
He's even skinnier today.
haha i love this thing
I cant breathe :'D
DVD I assume? (Eric's limo doesn't screech and crash this time!)
I didn't realize that was him. Ha!
I've heard that's Terry Jones rushing out with a typewriter (behind Big Valerie) - not confirmed, though!
I
thought
the same ...
Nasty would have sorted it out.
He got thumped by big Valerie. So he obviously wasn't able to sort it out. It's sad in the end people just took advantage of the Rutles.
Woody as a biker lol
BAHAHAHA
Was big Valerie a young Kate Moss? It looked like her
george xd
What year was it filmed?
1977
george is old hahaha
It's just a disguise. Bruh this was 1978, he was 35
darkhorse60 second of August 1977 (a day short of a year until...!) so 34 ½ but regardless, true.
