OJ made in America is one of the greatest Documentaries Of All Time!
Amazing

The BBC documentary is much better.
I 100% concur. I especially go back to watch episodes 3-5 from time to time.

Stan, condolences for the passing of your wife
True. I'm just finding that out.
OMG didn't know that 😢 prayers
Carl said in the documentary that when the jury went to OJs house he switched up everything to make his home seem as the he was a black man. He also said if OJ was Mexican he would have hired a mariachi band. The prosecution was playing checkers and the dream team was playing chess
There is a reason they are called the Dream Team

That prosecution team was way out of their league. They didn't have a chance against the dream team

So I guess the other two don't matter

And that’s reality too. He got off. Get over it. The country is America has done far worse
Stan Van Gundy is the worst kind of weak, spineless, jock-sniffing suckup. He knows O.J. Simpson murdered two people but is afraid to say so.

There have been a few biographies on the O.J. Simpson trial. One biography had an interview with one of the jurors.A woman who was,at the time of the interview,in her late 60's to early 70's. So at the time of the trial, she was in her early to mid 50's. She was asked if it (O.J. being acquitted) was because the officers who beat Rodney King were found not guilty. (?) She nodded her head and said "yes".
Think about all the blacks in the 40'50'60' who never got justice.. Mississippi wasn't the only state burning. Good ole USA
Yes, but other jurors' reflections after the fact don't necessarily concur with that.
Well duh lol of course it was
She can’t speak for all jurors or the rest of us who believe he was framed and had evidence planted against him
@carsonwall2400 I've never heard from other jurors on that issue. Mabey you have. 🤷♂️

I do not know sports or who OJ was, but I am interested in court cases. My father was a judge, so I know little about court cases. After watching "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story", I learned about OJ and felt that something was missing. Since then, I have been researching OJ's case. I have watched the case again and again. My brain never could figure out that someone could murder two people within 30 min who had Artherris and his children sleeping upstairs. I have been a defender of OJ since then. Salute to all of you.
This is probably the only non bias video you will watch today where someone talks about OJ with out calling him a murderer...

lol he obviously killed those two people . Pandering isn't a good thing
The best O.J. Simpson piece I ever saw was the NFL Top 100 video they did on him. "If you have a conversation with anyone in America about O.J. Simpson *the running back,* at first, people are confused, and then they get mad."
At 5:37 Douglas actually says it’s “regrettable” that OJ is now known for the murders he committed and not how great of a football player he was. To think that killing two innocent people outweighs his athletic accomplishments. What an embarrassing statement.
He was acquitted. So he is innocent.
"Speaking of hell, Art Briles."

Whyyy do we seem like we are rationalizing being "good and bad" with murder...not just any kind of murder, but the slaughtering of two people 🤔😬😐😑??? Is our worldly thinking that far gone?!?

It doesn't really matter what we think, he was found not guilty.
I’m still stunned by the fact that OJ Simpson was passed on for the Terminator T-800 role because he was thought to be “too nice, beloved” in Hollywood.
So weird! Since the guy they gave it too is that guy... I mean, I know people don't agree with him on stuff, but he's an all around nice guy who cares about people. So basically the opposite of O.J.
OJ still is considered very charming and a freaking hero in football and the black community.
Really? I never knew that -- too funny.
Shoot, now we'll never know who killed Nicole and Ron.....O.J. was the only person actively looking for the real killer.
He found out. It was Diddy.

Fuck that guy. They took money to get a guilty man off on a murder charge. Not to mention all the evidence that the prosecution fumbled.
Carl's voice, David Attengurgh, Morgan Freeman, Obama....iconic voices who i could listen to for a long time .....
I gotta say I don’t really buy Carl Douglas’s words that it’s regrettable that most Americans won’t remember OJ as this great football player. Well yes Carl that’s what happens when you most likely killed your wife, beat up your wife and then proceeded to do everything possible in the aftermath of the trial to get attention . I actually liked how a reviewer for the Oj documentary pointed out how odd it was for OJ to essentially commit a crime he was convicted for , do public events, and date women who looked like Nicole after the trial was over. It’s like Oj wanted to get caught. Like the guy beat the system…sure he had destroyed his own reputation mostly (although the series points out that OJ did try to get attention the nonwhite communities, heck he even got Wendy Williams to hug him even after she said “I think you probably killed her.”) but he was in the clear. Yeah he was liable civily (he looked even worse there) and that absolutely dented his marketing, he never got a major gig after the trial and he was forced to sell most of his stuff to try and pay, but even then he refused to actually pay for the entire court order. Like all he had to do was pay up and not get into trouble. But he couldn’t even do that.
It’s just football. It’s a game. It’s not life altering. But certainly domestic violence, killing your wife and her friend, and then committing armed robbery are much more important things to judge a man by.
OJ was definitely a GOAT....he actually never paid the verdict just like tons of rich white people do everyday. He moved to Florida where they couldn't garnish him.
Florida is loaded with rich White people. touch grass
He spent over a year in jail awaiting trial. Nobody talks about that. He also did nine years for the "robbery" in Las Vegas, where almost all others would not have even been charged. He got away with nothing. He lost it all.
I don't think anybody really cares
@@leeatterberry1239 You miss the point entirely. He did over 10 years for the crime, and he was offered a plea deal. He could have done 10 years in a crime of passion type of plea right from the start. You care enough to comment on things you know nothing about. So I guess people do care.
Exactly we don’t know what happened that night.
Great pod today
For his judgement, I was in 4 th grade, a bunch of classes got r together in the library to watch. The room was in shock, looking back now I can say it was so inappropriate. There was not one black student or teacher in the entire school
Exactly 💯
I was in a mixed race catholic school. We all watched the verdict too. All the White kids were upset. All the black and Mexican kids were cheering 😂
@Freerider93 😂😂😂😂😂😂
By the way, the Simpson kids - from OJ’s two wives - suffered drastic losses before OJ died: the loss of his 3rd child from his 1st marriage and the loss of Nicole. How can your heart not go to OJ’s kids considering what losses they suffered through beforehand?
He also left them an infamous and embarrassing legacy of being the children of a double murderer who also did prison time for burglary and kidnapping. I feel for what was taken from them as well.
I mean he literally wrote a book titled "If I Did It". And the lettering on the cover really did not emphasize the "If" and super emphasized the "I Did It".
That was the original cover yes. And the current cover almost erases the if, but that one is published by the Goldman's after they won the rights in court.
@@jessArcadehow is that even possible, he wrote the book, how does one take ownership over another’s book
@@jessebourbeau1616 courts. He was found guilty in civil court to owe the Goldman's family 35 million. So when OJ filed for bankruptcy in 2007, a judge gave the family the rights to the book as part of the bankruptcy.
@@jessArcade so they got control over cover, but nothing from sales? Or is Carl incorrect saying they have not received anything in 30 years? I have heard of them trying different times, but never that they were successful
@@LaCheeserie I think they were just referring to them not being able to get a hold of his main income which was his pensions apparently. They get money from books sales and even give 10% to Nicole Brown's parents as part of the settlement.

Sorry Carl. My conscience would never allow me to defend a murderer. Actually, you and the other defense attorneys should be ashamed of yourselves.
Moronic comment. It's their job to defend someone to the best of their ability. If lawyers didn't provide representation because of an assumption of guilt, no one would get representation.

Soo true!!!! 💯💯💯!!!!
I think instead of every media outlet talking about TAKING STOCK of OJs death, or putting it in perspective, how about we talk a little bit about RON GOLDMAN , HIS SISTER AND HER AMAZING DAD AND FAMILY , LETS TALK ABOUT NICOLE BROWN AND HER FAMILY ... That's real perspective ~
@shotgunsnare if you know them personally then i'm with you on your comment....but my guess is that you and like most of us do not know any of them. we just know that the father of ron goldman is like any other father that would want justice for their kid. and that the sister wants justice for her brother too which is normal. other than that we don't know what these people are like....
the truth is nobody knows the real truth....it would have been real closure if O.j confessed on his deathbed but he didn't so there is no closure.... the hypothetical confession is void because he got paid for it....that's comparable to someone pleading guilty just to get a lighter sentence or taking a plea bargain
Seriously real courtrooms don't go on like that one did

If you zoom out and think about what his life has probably been since then, I’m sure he’s gotten dirty looks and d**th threats over the years for basically doing the “best” work of his career - his JOB isn’t just to defend the innocent.. it’s to defend defendants.. and he did that.. so to continue to do that, you have to be calloused to the opinions of the people saying that you’re aiding criminals.. because our whole system falls apart without highly capable people doing the job he does..
And when you know that you’re upholding a system.. AND that people are mad at you for doing it, you probably see those people as understandably emotional.. but also flawed in their reasoning.. and I’m sure he’s seen plenty of hypocrisy from the saaaaame mob of people..
I think it’s weird, but so is his life, so is the system and so are people.. one thing’s for sure, this dude is not living in a black and white world.. it’s allllll grey for him..
Carl was absolutely hilarious and amazing in the documentary
As a kid of the 70s the juice was the man when anyone touched a football said they was the juice
I wonder what it's like for him. To represent someone you know is guilty and then eventually getting him off because the defense had so much money, the prosecution screwed up, the cops screwed up, and here we are talking about someone who killed two people.
how do you know he's guilty....you people act like you were there on that night.... ridiculous.... like the man said what about the innocent defendants that can't afford a good lawyer and get convicted...
he's a lawyer his job is to represent his client to the best of his ability.....he would be dishonoring his profession by not doing so....
As a criminal defense attorney i think you have to assume a lot of your clients will be guilty. A win is a win for the defense team. He should be proud of the work he did on that case. If it wasn’t OJ it would have been another murderer.

That's bull shit, cowardly nonsense. Perhaps the majority or large percentage of white people felt that way. But at the end of the day.
