I love how Ambessa's little speech about strength highlights a key difference between herself and our heroes. She believes in the strength of the individual, all principles of strength in a single person but we see all four principles of strength referenced in the collective that forms to oppose her: Caitlyn's vision, Vi's might, Jinx's guile, and Isha's sacrifice.
Worth noting, her speech about strength isn't just her philosophy, it's the philosophy of her whole culture. Noxus is ruled (maybe not at the time of Arcane, but eventually) by a council of three, the Trifarian, one who embodies Might, one who embodies Vision, and one who embodies Guile. While it appears to be an individualist vs. collectivist argument (and I think it is, fwiw), it's also more subtle than that. Noxus is quite well organized and despite the depictions of the Imperialist empire as being brutal and dangerous, you can also live comfortably and travel freely within its borders, there are no openly oppressed minority classes (as there are in many other parts of this world), it's very entrepreneurial, and there are a lot of opportunities to make a good living. It's actually quite a lot like Zaun. It appears pretty rough and ready, but there is a kind of order to it and you can find a way to make it happen for you. Plus, they don't believe in bloodline inheritance. Famously, "Rejoice at the end of kings. Today you are all citizens of Noxus. Kings demand you kneel before their titles and trinkets of unearned power. Noxus asks that you stand and be reborn in a glory shared by all." Now, listen. Theyr'e still fascistic imperialist warmongers. But most Noxian towns wouldn't feel that much different than living in a given American town in the Dustbowl era.

Caitlyn realizes what she was doing wrong was when they talk to Singed. Caitlyn hates Singed and calls him a "monster" because he created Shimmer and does inhuman experiments. When Singed tells her what he did was for the love of his daughter, Caitlyn realizes that because of her love for her mom, she might be doing something evil as well. That makes her understand that not everything can be justified for love but also that she would still be willing to help people that she loves (Vi) for good. This is exactly the message they were trying to convey through this episode, that there are 2 sides of a coin. Love makes us do both good and bad things. Caitlyn's love for her mother made her do bad things but her love for Vi makes her do good. That is exactly what they were trying to tell us.

Agreed. I wish they had left out the black rose scenes with Mel and made more time for vi and caits development. I think the black rose storyline worked so well as a more ambiguous threat motivating ambesa. But I guess we will see what they do with it in act 3, they could prove me wrong
@sebastianmyers4933 I would disagree that it lessens anything, simply because I think that Caitlyn was already going down the path to come to that conclusion. She was just waiting for a more opportune time. She isn't stupid. She understands that just openly opposing Ambessa, especially without capturing Jinx can lead to. Ambessa has to much power and influence now. She needed something to guarantee that the people of piltover would side with her over Ambessa. Singed, his creation of shimmer and what he did to Vander, and his recruitment by Ambessa would've might have been enough to do that, even without Jinx.
I don't know if you noticed, but it's most likely that Singed injected Warwick with the serum after everyone left the tent. He's seen standing in the tent during Viktor's speech. Warwick's berserk isn't because Jayce "kills" Viktor.
Thinking now, this line may be (intended or not) referenced to Nietzsche's Übermensch (superman), where the person transcends the struggles and everything else that comes (either for the bad, mostly, or for the good) with being human. That is, Viktor believes in the evolution of ourselves from this flesh as the only thing that matters as humans. Emotions, morals, everything else should be transcended.
I am slightly annoyed at him saying evolution has a destination, which is a persistent pop-science myth. evolution has no direction or destination, evolution is literally just a response attempting to adapt to suit whatever the greatest stressors are in the current environment and its not even always beneficial.

In his case, evolution means embracing technological advances, or something like that, and removing from himself everything else that makes him human (which he considers inferior, really).

I think the “message” Viktor refers to is the nature of humanity. Love gives us our greatest goods but can also lead to our greatest evils. Pain, rage, sorrow, compassion, and so on. It all is built on a foundation of love but how humanity expresses that is always a coin flip. An act of pure grief and rage can start entire wars. Wars that go on for so long the people fighting them don’t even remember what started it. It gets messier and messier as we enter cycle after cycle of shifting blame to keep the rage going. My theory is that the final act will be about the other side of the coin. The hard work that it takes to choose compassion when rage is so tempting. Humanity is constantly self-replicating and self-annihilating. Maybe Arcane will have its own answer on how to deal with that. God I love this show!
I think that's why Victor will become his game version. The lesson Victor will internalize is that emotions are the enemy. One's humanity is the thing that needs to be excised.
I mean it was perfect from Viktor, coz him and Jayce were the ones that truly had the best intentions, for a better tomorrow, they destroyed the today..and on the way they barely stayed human. God knows what Viktor is, as for Jayce...he does have the arcane literally IN his skin, you could say hextech is also now part of him.
I understood what Viktor was trying to explain but with your analysis, it perfectly captures the entire theme of this series. So many times that people tried to make things better for all but they will always be those who mean to do us harm. Whenever they see a power that was never shown before, they’ll only see it as an advantage over their enemies. It now reminds me of a scene where in Detective Pikachu, Mewtwo told him and I quote, “Humanity is evil but you have showed me.. that not all humans are bad.” Our nature is so fragile and vile that in any given point in time, we can either became greater than what we were or treacherous that destroys us entirely.
I only just understood on this "rewatch" with the normies that the final part of Victor's speech, was about love. "That which inspire us to our greatest good, is also the cause of our greatest evil" He was talking about love, like Singed committing his "atrocious acts", our Vickor himself and Jayce building Hextech for the people initially.
The paralells of what makes humanity human in this episode is incredible writing. From Isha going from Jinx into Powder, to Jayce and Viktor switching sides. An amazing reflection of the duality of human emotion. Love, hate, anger, sadness all can be viewed from either side of a coin. How love can push Singed's ambition while heal Jinx's trauma. How Cait's hate will fuel Zaun's rebellion. How Isha's sacrifice to protect both Jinx and Vi from having responsbility to free their father from his rage. And the reflection of Viktor's empathy to Jayce's fear. There is no right or wrong. Everything in the show is gray and that is an incredible feat.
yeah and what I love about Arcane is that literally all the characters have humane reasoning for what they are doing. Even the ones that are morally wrong, you can still understand (not tolerate) why they are doing it

Isha's song, the last words the Chinese singer says translates to this: "I'm just fine this way" meaning that she didn't want to die but she accepts it has to be that way. Isha's name also multiple meanings, two of the most important are "Healer & The One Who Protects". That brush moments are intentional; we saw ourselves as a kid in brighter memories. Memories where all was bright, colorful, and joyful. We never wanted to change that, but we did. Also, two symbolism, Isha’s paint color is blue symbolism for Powder as she is catching up to Jinx purple to heal her soul. Also notice how Jinx’s eyes flutter blue at least twice as they are jumping. Now Isha's soul says those last words to Jinx, unheared by death, echoed on us. This show is the epitome of show, don’t tell. So many times, I wish more dialogue was written, or I wrote it my own. But they left it up to the audience to interpret the situation based on their own perceptions. And this truly epitomized by the character of Isha, a character that is mute, doesn’t say a single line of dialogue, which also represents the voices going away in Jinx’s head. People don't realize it yet, but the writers made their point of this act very clear from the beginning. The second we see Maddie with Caitlyn, we feel betrayed and hurt, some even hate Maddie herself. We feel bad for Vi and we feel cheated on as an audience, but time and people move forward, even if it's temporarily or attempt to "fill a hole,” but Maddie also played a secondary role; to help keep Cait's humanity. Warwick and Isha's roles were to heal Jinx, bring back her humanity, heal sisters and a family. And just like the intro of the act, it's the outro, we have it all torn away and are betrayed.
The motif of the song which played when Jinx shot at the Council is being played when Jayce shoots Viktor. Isha uses three "hex bullets", the same amount Powder used in her bomb. Thus the two fateful decisions/acts of Jinx are explicitly echoed in this episode.
I saw someone say that 'there is symbolism with Isha being mute, since Isha fell on Jinx, Jinx stopped hearing the voices in her head. Isha being mute represented the voices in Jinx's head finally being muted and finally bringing peace to Jinx’s mind.' Also how when Jinx learned Isha was taken away Jinx immediately heard Silco in her head, so now the voices will be back probably.
Notice how that scene of the gear rolling is played 3 different times during the episode, and each time, the gear takes a slightly different path and falls differently each time. With some other details pointing towards Ekko and his time abilities, there might be some kind of time loop happening.
We know the Z-Drive is coming, but I really hope they don't use it to reverse a big story beat. Trying to stop the events of this episode and failing would actually be perfect, they did something similar in a short comic about Ekko.
Yes the theory of Jayce coming from the future is probably what happened. Ekko is most likely the one who sent him back because he is known to rewind time. However, I believe Navi is correct in that Jayce killing Viktor is the catalyst for the future he saw. Why? Because when Singed spoke with Viktor, he suggested combining Viktor with Vander/Warwick's blood to make Viktor even stronger. So when we get to Act 3, I'm almost certain that Singed will collect both their bodies to revive Viktor. Thus creating the Viktor we all know in game, and in return, will be the Viktor that Jayce, Heimerdinger and Ekko witnessed in the future.

I feel like Viktor is giving Ethan Hawkes character in Moon Knight. He is creating a commune with a bunch of people who seems happy, but to what ends? They all still stick around and serve him and grow, and allow him to keep building. What will he do once he gets enough power? Maybe Jayce has seen what happens.

And more you think about it, more it becomes apparent that absolutely no one was there driven by hate, but completely opposite. They all did what they thought they should do because of love. Jinx, Isha, Vi because of Vander, Singed cuz of his daughter, Caitlyn - Vi, even Ambessa - Mel and her general "family" mantra, and even Jayce who obviously thinks he's protecting humanity and doing Viktor a favour for killing him. And somehow I think he's right....
Viktor's little epiphany on "the message hidden within the pattern" is him seeing with cold, inhuman clarity what "humanity" is capable of and the reason why his commune was doomed to fail. The gear he held on to is symbolic of, if not simply the one he touched when he and Jayce first succeeded their experiment. Dropping it reads to me as him casting away the last of his humanity, perhaps less than conciously, as the human part of him literally dies.
I was always under the assumption whatever Viktor got seemed good but was going to be sinister. I'm not sure that's true yet but Jayce I assume knows more than the viewer does and is doing the right thing.
Viktor isn't the wizard that saved Jayce, that wizard had skin in his/her hands, long ass nails and runes tattooed on their fingers. Viktor's hands are whatever the hexcore made them to be. The answer is not always time travel guys 😅

during the moment where viktor and the girl are watching jayce from the astral plane we can see the vision of the thing that jinx dropped and viktor picked up in the water, this means that viktor already knew that peace was not an option and that in the end everything would end in violence, i think that he reason why he continued to act normally and didnt know that jayce was going to kill him is because he didnt expect it to be him

The message within the pattern is that humanity and their emotions are inescapable. The hive mind people looked as though they were stripped of those emotions. Shown by the child that looks at Jayce’s hammer without fear or reaction.

Jayce wanted to stop Viktor because if you recall in Season 1 Heimerdinger warned both of them that The Arcane was dangerous and he had witnessed his horror . One of the councilmen even said that it destroyed his species but they never listened . Now all that is coming back to bite them in the ass .
Rictus wrapped his spear with the Kaenic Rookern, a legendary magic resistance item from the game. That's why he was able to break free from the Black Rose's spell and block spell/hextech attacks completely, but no good against claws though. Also I think when Victor died, Vander felt calmness effect lost but that was not what drove him insane. We see in one frame near the end that Singed already got up, so possibly he managed to inject his drug to Vander when everyone's attention was drawn outside.
For me its reason enough that they both agreed to destroying it a long time ago, before even half of the council got blown up with it, before Noxus got involved due to it..I d argue since the Sky death we only got more reasons to fear the Arcane. But I do think that Jayce must have other reasons than the ones we have seen coz he was the biggest fan of Hextech, from the scientist trio of Viktor, Heimendinger and Jayce - Jaye was the one most attached to the idea of Hextech, willing to overlook much more than the other 2, so if HE of all people is suddenly against it -1. He either saw why it has to be destroyed in great detail and sees no way around it 2. He got corrupted by the Arcane (which could be why the coin that Viktor lets go off his hands has one clean and one wild rune part, symbolizing that both touched the arcane but got other parts of it) and THINKS he is doing the right thing, but he aint.

The thing I love most about this show is that they can have a character who doesn't even speak ,But, yet make us fall in love with them in just a few eisodes....Then they just kill them off(potentially).

League of Legends has several different games out including Legends of Runeterra a digital trading card game, The Ruined King, a RPG and Convergence, a action side scrolling platform where you play as Ekko, as well as several others. All of these games are fun and worth your time. The main League of Legends game or wildrift which is the mobil version for your phone are pretty hit or miss. You will either become massively addicted or get bored super quickly. Also, the community within the original League game has a reputation of being super toxic!
Don't forget Teamfight Tactics. Who wouldn't want to play an auto-battler (auto-chess) game with all your favorite characters from the show? Now is the time with the new Arcane set! Each game, you build your own dream team of zaunites, pilties or noxians protagonists and let them battle other players' team. A super chill game that can still be competitive, and not much (if any) toxic behavior in the community.
i highley recommend going back through jayves pov of walking through the village, when he looks at viktors people, it shows flashes of what they really are, he can see them as that and theyre lowkey terrifying, try pause during the frames like when the kid first shows up and he pulls out his hammer
and as that was said, the imagery of whatever the hell sky is was also shown. The two of them are having the same problem at the same time, hilariously not seen by Viktor. That or ignored.
Some Act 2 Call Backs - Jayce, Ekko, and Heim definitely saw some evil twisted world. We are so sad and focused on the "Arcane" (getting vander back, all the happiness) that we didn’t focus on the little sinister details behind the scenes. One Salo isn’t breathing when they are in the hexgate mesh, they also did very quick camera flutter, but they show a very sinister image of non-human existing instead of salo as a human. Also, I don’t think a lot of people noticed, but Vander didn’t just disappear because of Viktor’s death, Singed most likely woke up and injected the Serum into Warwick after Caitlyn, Vi, and Jinx walked out. Also I don't think many people caught, but when Vi is mentioning her plan, she actually talking to Jinx and you know that because the end statement is her saying "You won't like it." referring to that they need to trust Caitlyn, and she ironically didn't tell Caitlyn that Jinx knew about the plan the whole time. Also Season 1 Vi - “Oil and Water” / Season 2 - Caitlyn - “You look like an angry oil slick.”
That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil.” So I think Viktors quote is a reference to him wanting to help and heal everyone but in reality he’s stripping them of their humanity and in the future everyone ends up as hextech cyborg overlords and that is what Jayce saw and keeps seeing flashes of when he’s seeing the people that have been touched by robot Jesus. He’s trying to prevent that future.
For those who are like time travel here's what his ability says as per the actual game has it. PASSIVE: Upon learning Chronobreak or if its current cooldown is lower than 4 seconds, Ekko reveals a time-delayed afterimage of himself that constantly tracks where he was 4 seconds ago. ACTIVE: Ekko enters Stasis icon stasis at the start of the cast time, and afterwards Heal power icon heals himself and Dash dashes to his afterimage's current location over 0.5 seconds. Upon arrival, the stasis ends and he creates an explosion that deals magic damage to nearby enemies. Whether it'll be actually used or updated or changed we'll have to see.
They were automatons, all of the cultists were not even human any longer. They don't even breath, aware they are in danger, or understand mortality. When Salo was killed, Jayce was clearly threatening and that would normally frighten the cowardly and self-centered Salo but he didn't even care that he was possibly in danger. Also, in the Hexcore room it is freezing cold and you can see the breath come out Jayce but nothing from Salo. The child at the commune as well, didn't register danger when Jayce pointed the weapon at him... They are different beings, posessed by some otherworldly power that needs hosts it seems.

So, Victor was no longer Victor, but the embodiment of Arcane itself. At best, a hybrid. In the first season, it was clearly indicated that Arcane was able to "speak through mages" and "learn". That is, a certain kind of consciousness. Therefore, the new Victor did not "heal" people, but in fact took possession of them. Some remnants of the previous personalities were preserved, for the sake of a certain degree of autonomy, but the changes in the personalities of the hosts were too strong, too similar and all-encompassing to not be a version of "body snatchers". Jace is most likely under the control of some mage. Perhaps the same one who saved his life a long time ago. The crystal with the rune implanted in Jace's hand is most likely a means of control and surveillance. Not all mages are the same, perhaps someone really sees the danger of an unbridled Arcane. Although it is possible to simply "eliminate a competitor", so to speak. Or just wreak havoc in a city that doesn't particularly welcome mages and magic.

When a story makes a character do something that seems drastic, if it's a good story then there is usually ample justification and motivation behind it. We just don't know now, but I doubt it was for "no reason"
The message is that that which gives life also destroys us: we are the authors of our own doom etc. In this case, the Arcane brought life through Victor and it brought death through Jace. That's the pattern of this show: Isha echoes Powder last season as she blows everything up witu 3 blue orbs resulting in Vander's death - last season it was an act of error and death, this season its an act of sacrifice and life. The pattern is in all of these life giving relationships that turn to death and desturction: Vander/Silco/Vi's Mum turned to Vander vs. Silco, but also led to the family of Vander, Vi and Powder. That turns to shit. But it leads to Vi and Caitlyn, and Silco and Jinx which also turns to shit. But it leads to Jinx and Ish, and Caitlyn and Maddie. But it turns to shit... We also have Heimedinger and Revnik, which tunrs to shit but leads to Hemi/Jace, then Echo/Heim and Jace/ Victor, then Victor and Sky. Always two sides of the coin, Jinx/Powder, Good/Evil, Zaun/Piltover. The Black Rose and whatever the white stuff victor represents is.
28:41 There were no people working together, just Viktor. The body was healed but the mind was Viktor's. They basically lost all their individuality and feelings. They are there, but without possession of their own will. They were not afraid of Warwick, they were not afraid of Jayce. The people were acting like puppets. Is it peaceful? Yes. Were their bodies healed? Yes. But at the cost of being prisoners of Viktor's will. It is up to each person to understand whether losing their free will but living in peace is right or wrong. In my view, it is not a good thing.
I've got a tragic theory about why Vander/Warwick was basically spewing lava. Viktor's 'healing' converts parts of the body into metal, which is then melted by what Singed injected him with, but the damage is then repaired by Warwick's regeneration. Warwick was literally being melted out from the inside out, yet being healed at the same time, causing mind shattering agony. It didn't matter if Viktor linked him up with the hivemind, this would drive anyone insane, especially a fractured psyche like Vanders.
i remember someone said that Vander (Warwick) became feral in the end bec he was left inside with unconscious Singed which might be awake after they went out and successfully injected that orange substance that he carried.
Viktor may SEEM like right now he's helping people but those of us who have seen "helpful tech turn evil" enough times know that Jayce probably has seen what this will all lead to. The sad thing is he probably caused it to happen by attempting to kill Viktor this way, thus causing the timeloop that he may very well be stuck in. While it's nice to see Viktor as helping keep in mind he has created a hivemind that he can control at any time, so while for now he's doing good, it would be easy for this to go very, very wrong in the wrong hands. And that's probably where this is all headed. Outside of the fact I think Jayce just caused the thing he wanted to stop, I also think he's just eternally trying to fix his own mistake, which was saving Viktor's life with the Hexcore rather than let him die. That's why he was like I won't fail. Because he did fail. I personally think Jayce may have agreed to do this for a future Viktor who saw what his power turned into so it's closing a loop, but he caused it instead.

That is, Viktor believes in the evolution of ourselves from this flesh as the only thing that matters as humans. Emotions, morals, everything else should be transcended.
The lesson in this episode is don't let Jinx have a friendship with children, or our hearts will be broken. Isha did not deserve this, but she went out in a blaze of glory like what Jinx would’ve done 😢💔

Jayce went to the future when in hex, he saw what it will lead to,everyone just mindless robots ,ekko and the dinger,are still stuck in that time and ekko will learn to use time powers and come back. The hex brought back Jayce at that moment because he had to kill Viktor to confirm that time line that hex rules over all,Viktor isn't dead he will come back more robot and less human and now when he turns ppls they will he robotic. Viktor first person once back will be the doctors daughter, since in game she's a robot. Jinx will try to keep isha memories alive by being the rebellion leader she always wanted her to he and she will wear start rocking the outfit we saw in trailers. They hinted at a costume change when at the prison and the guard was making fun of jinx, that she doesn't look like a rebellion leader,hence the new outfit. Vander is still alive since in game he is like wolverine with super healing factors. Isha death would have been to spark the flames in jinx to be more and let them get away at thar moment.
The End of Season 2 Act 2: The Escalation, a breaking point has been reached, let’s see how far it can be pushed and how everything will come together. What did Jayce see? How will things go between Vi, Caitlyn and Jinx? Where is Heimerdinger and Ekko? What happened to Mel? Who or what will end up being the Final Antagonist of the Show, Ambessa, The Arcane, The Black Rose or even The Void? Where has Sevika and Maddie been throughout all of this? Hopefully, we’ll find out about at least the majority of these in Act 3. Also, i really hope we’ll find out what it was that finally made Caitlyn go against Ambessa, while it was a pretty nice Twist, i really would like some clarification, especially considering what we’ve seen of her up until now. They made a point of showing us that using hextech corrupts the world else where. So I'm assuming what jayce saw was a future where viktor continued using hextech and the arcane corrupted the world turning everyone into those things jayce keeps seeing . That's my guess
Vander regressed because singed injected him with the serum when they all went outside to check on the screaming. He wasn't integrated into the hive mind fully so I don't think vikor dying would have done to him what happened to the others

I love how Ambessa's little speech about strength highlights a key difference between herself and our heroes. She believes in the strength of the individual, all principles of strength in a single person but we see all four principles of strength referenced in the collective that forms to oppose her: Caitlyn's vision, Vi's might, Jinx's guile, and Isha's sacrifice.
Worth noting, her speech about strength isn't just her philosophy, it's the philosophy of her whole culture. Noxus is ruled (maybe not at the time of Arcane, but eventually) by a council of three, the Trifarian, one who embodies Might, one who embodies Vision, and one who embodies Guile. While it appears to be an individualist vs. collectivist argument (and I think it is, fwiw), it's also more subtle than that. Noxus is quite well organized and despite the depictions of the Imperialist empire as being brutal and dangerous, you can also live comfortably and travel freely within its borders, there are no openly oppressed minority classes (as there are in many other parts of this world), it's very entrepreneurial, and there are a lot of opportunities to make a good living. It's actually quite a lot like Zaun. It appears pretty rough and ready, but there is a kind of order to it and you can find a way to make it happen for you. Plus, they don't believe in bloodline inheritance. Famously, "Rejoice at the end of kings. Today you are all citizens of Noxus. Kings demand you kneel before their titles and trinkets of unearned power. Noxus asks that you stand and be reborn in a glory shared by all."

Caitlyn realizes what she was doing wrong was when they talk to Singed. Caitlyn hates Singed and calls him a "monster" because he created Shimmer and does inhuman experiments. When Singed tells her what he did was for the love of his daughter, Caitlyn realizes that because of her love for her mom, she might be doing something evil as well. That makes her understand that not everything can be justified for love but also that she would still be willing to help people that she loves (Vi) for good.
This is exactly the message they were trying to convey through this episode, that there are 2 sides of a coin. Love makes us do both good and bad things. Caitlyn's love for her mother made her do bad things but her love for Vi makes her do good. That is exactly what they were trying to tell us.

She was just waiting for a more opportune time. She isn't stupid. She understands that just openly opposing Ambessa, especially without capturing Jinx can lead to. Ambessa has to much power and influence now. She needed something to guarantee that the people of piltover would side with her over Ambessa. Singed, his creation of shimmer and what he did to Vander, and his recruitment by Ambessa would've might have been enough to do that, even without Jinx.

I am slightly annoyed at him saying evolution has a destination, which is a persistent pop-science myth. evolution has no direction or destination, evolution is literally just a response attempting to adapt to suit whatever the greatest stressors are in the current environment and its not even always beneficial.

I think the “message” Viktor refers to is the nature of humanity. Love gives us our greatest goods but can also lead to our greatest evils. Pain, rage, sorrow, compassion, and so on. It all is built on a foundation of love but how humanity expresses that is always a coin flip. An act of pure grief and rage can start entire wars. Wars that go on for so long the people fighting them don’t even remember what started it. It gets messier and messier as we enter cycle after cycle of shifting blame to keep the rage going. My theory is that the final act will be about the other side of the coin. The hard work that it takes to choose compassion when rage is so tempting. Humanity is constantly self-replicating and self-annihilating. Maybe Arcane will have its own answer on how to deal with that. God I love this show!
I think that's why Victor will become his game version. The lesson Victor will internalize is that emotions are the enemy. One's humanity is the thing that needs to be excised.
I mean it was perfect from Viktor, coz him and Jayce were the ones that truly had the best intentions, for a better tomorrow, they destroyed the today..and on the way they barely stayed human. I understood what Viktor was trying to explain but with your analysis, it perfectly captures the entire theme of this series. So many times that people tried to make things better for all but they will always be those who mean to do us harm. Whenever they see a power that was never shown before, they’ll only see it as an advantage over their enemies. It now reminds me of a scene where in Detective Pikachu, Mewtwo told him and I quote, “Humanity is evil but you have showed me.. that not all humans are bad.” Our nature is so fragile and vile that in any given point in time, we can either became greater than what we were or treacherous that destroys us entirely.

The paralells of what makes humanity human in this episode is incredible writing. From Isha going from Jinx into Powder, to Jayce and Viktor switching sides. An amazing reflection of the duality of human emotion. Love, hate, anger, sadness all can be viewed from either side of a coin. How love can push Singed's ambition while heal Jinx's trauma. How Cait's hate will fuel Zaun's rebellion. How Isha's sacrifice to protect both Jinx and Vi from having responsbility to free their father from his rage. And the reflection of Viktor's empathy to Jayce's fear. There is no right or wrong. Everything in the show is gray and that is an incredible feat.
yeah and what I love about Arcane is that literally all the characters have humane reasoning for what they are doing. Even the ones that are morally wrong, you can still understand (not tolerate) why they are doing it

Isha's song, the last words the Chinese singer says translates to this: "I'm just fine this way" meaning that she didn't want to die but she accepts it has to be that way. Isha's name also multiple meanings, two of the most important are "Healer & The One Who Protects". That brush moments are intentional; we saw ourselves as a kid in brighter memories. Memories where all was bright, colorful, and joyful. We never wanted to change that, but we did. Also, two symbolism, Isha’s paint color is blue symbolism for Powder as she is catching up to Jinx purple to heal her soul. Also notice how Jinx’s eyes flutter blue at least twice as they are jumping. Now Isha's soul says those last words to Jinx, unheared by death, echoed on us.
This show is the epitome of show, don’t tell. So many times, I wish more dialogue was written, or I wrote it my own. But they left it up to the audience to interpret the situation based on their own perceptions. And this truly epitomized by the character of Isha, a character that is mute, doesn’t say a single line of dialogue, which also represents the voices going away in Jinx’s head.
People don't realize it yet, but the writers made their point of this act very clear from the beginning. The second we see Maddie with Caitlyn, we feel betrayed and hurt, some even hate Maddie herself. We feel bad for Vi and we feel cheated on as an audience, but time and people move forward, even if it's temporarily or attempt to "fill a hole,” but Maddie also played a secondary role; to help keep Cait's humanity. Warwick and Isha's roles were to heal Jinx, bring back her humanity, heal sisters and a family. And just like the intro of the act, it's the outro, we have it all torn away and are betrayed.

I saw someone say that 'there is symbolism with Isha being mute, since Isha fell on Jinx, Jinx stopped hearing the voices in her head. Isha being mute represented the voices in Jinx's head finally being muted and finally bringing peace to Jinx’s mind.' Also how when Jinx learned Isha was taken away Jinx immediately heard Silco in her head, so now the voices will be back probably.

We know the Z-Drive is coming, but I really hope they don't use it to reverse a big story beat. Trying to stop the events of this episode and failing would actually be perfect, they did something similar in a short comic about Ekko.
Yes the theory of Jayce coming from the future is probably what happened. Ekko is most likely the one who sent him back because he is known to rewind time.
However, I believe Navi is correct in that Jayce killing Viktor is the catalyst for the future he saw. Why? Because when Singed spoke with Viktor, he suggested combining Viktor with Vander/Warwick's blood to make Viktor even stronger.
So when we get to Act 3, I'm almost certain that Singed will collect both their bodies to revive Viktor. Thus creating the Viktor we all know in game, and in return, will be the Viktor that Jayce, Heimerdinger and Ekko witnessed in the future.
Well maybe the Viktor they saw in the future will be created but that doesn't mean this exact future will happen.

And more you think about it, more it becomes apparent that absolutely no one was there driven by hate, but completely opposite. They all did what they thought they should do because of love. Jinx, Isha, Vi because of Vander, Singed cuz of his daughter, Caitlyn - Vi, even Ambessa - Mel and her general "family" mantra, and even Jayce who obviously thinks he's protecting humanity and doing Viktor a favour for killing him. And somehow I think he's right....
Viktor's little epiphany on "the message hidden within the pattern" is him seeing with cold, inhuman clarity what "humanity" is capable of and the reason why his commune was doomed to fail. The gear he held on to is symbolic of, if not simply the one he touched when he and Jayce first succeeded their experiment. Dropping it reads to me as him casting away the last of his humanity, perhaps less than conciously, as the human part of him literally dies.

during the moment where viktor and the girl are watching jayce from the astral plane we can see the vision of the thing that jinx dropped and viktor picked up in the water, this means that viktor already knew that peace was not an option and that in the end everything would end in violence, i think that he reason why he continued to act normally and didnt know that jayce was going to kill him is because he didnt expect it to be him

Noticed in episode 5 , last episode when Jayce and Salo was talking in the room Jayce was the only one breathing air when talking while Salo was not indicating that Salo and the rest of whom Viktor touched may have not needed the basic functions of humans to survive meaning them fusing with hextech or arcane magic turned them into machines . If they were truly cured none of them would have reacted the way they did when Viktor was hit by Jayce , implying that all of them are connected to Viktor and Viktor I’ll bet is unconsciously controlling their will through his own .

Jayce wanted to stop Viktor because if you recall in Season 1 Heimerdinger warned both of them that The Arcane was dangerous and he had witnessed his horror . One of the councilmen even said that it destroyed his species but they never listened . Now all that is coming back to bite them in the ass .

Rictus wrapped his spear with the Kaenic Rookern, a legendary magic resistance item from the game. That's why he was able to break free from the Black Rose's spell and block spell/hextech attacks completely, but no good against claws though. Also I think when Victor died, Vander felt calmness effect lost but that was not what drove him insane. We see in one
frame near the end that Singed already got up, so possibly he managed to inject his drug to Vander when everyone's attention was drawn outside.
For me its reason enough that they both agreed to destroying it a long time ago, before even half of the council got blown up with it, before Noxus got involved due to it..I d argue since the Sky death we only got more reasons to fear the Arcane. But I do think that Jayce must have other reasons than the ones we have seen coz he was the biggest fan of Hextech, from the scientist trio of Viktor, Heimendinger and Jayce - Jaye was the one most attached to the idea of Hextech, willing to overlook much more than the other 2, so if HE of all people is suddenly against it -1. He either saw why it has to be destroyed in great detail and sees no way around it 2. He got corrupted by the Arcane (which could be why the coin that Viktor lets go off his hands has one clean and one wild rune part, symbolizing that both touched the arcane but got other parts of it) and THINKS he is doing the right thing, but he aint.

It's also important to note what Viktor is saying he understands, the "message hidden within the pattern", is that the flaw in humanity is our humanity. Our emotions and attachments are what give rise to our greatest good but also our greatest evil. Compassion. Rage. Love. Hate. It's all the same stuff. And worse, he says the Doctor was *right* - the only way to achieve his glorious evolution is to strip away all that is human. That's a scary message for a cybernetic super Jesus to be espousing.

@ninjatoriumnova2483 a friend got me into league many years ago back in highschool, instantly fell in love with Teemo, always enjoyed the game, only stopped playing it because I never had a PC/laptop, mainly play on console so I never understood the hatred for the game 🥲

League of Legends has several different games out including Legends of Runeterra a digital trading card game, The Ruined King, a RPG and Convergence, a action side scrolling platform where you play as Ekko, as well as several others. All of these games are fun and worth your time. The main League of Legends game or wildrift which is the mobil version for your phone are pretty hit or miss. You will either become massively addicted or get bored super quickly. Also, the community within the original League game has a reputation of being super toxic!
Don't forget Teamfight Tactics. Who wouldn't want to play an auto-battler (auto-chess) game with all your favorite characters from the show? Now is the time with the new Arcane set! Each game, you build your own dream team of zaunites, pilties or noxians protagonists and let them battle other players' team.
A super chill game that can still be competitive, and not much (if any) toxic behavior in the community.
i highley recommend going back through jayves pov of walking through the village, when he looks at viktors people, it shows flashes of what they really are, he can see them as that and theyre lowkey terrifying, try pause during the frames like when the kid first shows up and he pulls out his hammer

and as that was said, the imagery of whatever the hell sky is was also shown. The two of them are having the same problem at the same time, hilariously not seen by Viktor. That or ignored.
Some Act 2 Call Backs - Jayce, Ekko, and Heim definitely saw some evil twisted world. We are so sad and focused on the "Arcane" (getting vander back, all the happiness) that we didn’t focus on the little sinister details behind the scenes. One Salo isn’t breathing when they are in the hexgate mesh, they also did very quick camera flutter, but they show a very sinister image of non-human existing instead of salo as a human. Also, I don’t think a lot of people noticed, but Vander didn’t just disappear because of Viktor’s death, Singed most likely woke up and injected the Serum into Warwick after Caitlyn, Vi, and Jinx walked out.
Also I don't think many people caught, but when Vi is mentioning her plan, she actually talking to Jinx and you know that because the end statement is her saying "You won't like it." referring to that they need to trust Caitlyn, and she ironically didn't tell Caitlyn that Jinx knew about the plan the whole time.
Also Season 1 Vi - “Oil and Water” / Season 2 - Caitlyn - “You look like an angry oil slick.”

So I think Viktors quote is a reference to him wanting to help and heal everyone but in reality he’s stripping them of their humanity and in the future everyone ends up as hextech cyborg overlords and that is what Jayce saw and keeps seeing flashes of when he’s seeing the people that have been touched by robot Jesus. He’s trying to prevent that future.
Jinx and Vi's relationship healing is healing my mental health
For those who are like time travel here's what his ability says as per the actual game has it.
PASSIVE: Upon learning Chronobreak or if its current cooldown is lower than 4 seconds, Ekko reveals a time-delayed afterimage of himself that constantly tracks where he was 4 seconds ago. ACTIVE: Ekko enters Stasis icon stasis at the start of the cast time, and afterwards Heal power icon heals himself and Dash dashes to his afterimage's current location over 0.5 seconds. Upon arrival, the stasis ends and he creates an explosion that deals magic damage to nearby enemies.
Whether it'll be actually used or updated or changed we'll have to see.
They were automatons, all of the cultists were not even human any longer. They don't even breath, aware they are in danger, or understand mortality. When Salo was killed, Jayce was clearly threatening and that would normally frighten the cowardly and self-centered Salo but he didn't even care that he was possibly in danger. Also, in the Hexcore room it is freezing cold and you can see the breath come out Jayce but nothing from Salo. The child at the commune as well, didn't register danger when Jayce pointed the weapon at him... They are different beings, posessed by some otherworldly power that needs hosts it seems.
Yall, the song playing at the end is called Isha's Song, and it's sung in Mandarin by Eason Chan. In Chinese the title itself is called 这样很好 , which translated actually means "It's Better This Way". So, Victor was no longer Victor, but the embodiment of Arcane itself. At best, a hybrid. In the first season, it was clearly indicated that Arcane was able to "speak through mages" and "learn". That is, a certain kind of consciousness.
Therefore, the new Victor did not "heal" people, but in fact took possession of them. Some remnants of the previous personalities were preserved, for the sake of a certain degree of autonomy, but the changes in the personalities of the hosts were too strong, too similar and all-encompassing to not be a version of "body snatchers".
Jace is most likely under the control of some mage. Perhaps the same one who saved his life a long time ago. The crystal with the rune implanted in Jace's hand is most likely a means of control and surveillance. Not all mages are the same, perhaps someone really sees the danger of an unbridled Arcane.
Although it is possible to simply "eliminate a competitor", so to speak.
Or just wreak havoc in a city that doesn't particularly welcome mages and magic.

I seen people get mad at Jayce and I get it but both sides are extreme imo two sides of the same confusing coin. The arcane messed with Jayce mind and Viktors body

When a story makes a character do something that seems drastic, if it's a good story then there is usually ample justification and motivation behind it. We just don't know now, but I doubt it was for "no reason"
The message is that that which gives life also destroys us: we are the authors of our own doom etc. In this case, the Arcane brought life through Victor and it brought death through Jace. That's the pattern of this show: Isha echoes Powder last season as she blows everything up witu 3 blue orbs resulting in Vander's death - last season it was an act of error and death, this season its an act of sacrifice and life.
The pattern is in all of these life giving relationships that turn to death and desturction: Vander/Silco/Vi's Mum turned to Vander vs. Silco, but also led to the family of Vander, Vi and Powder. That turns to shit.
But it leads to Vi and Caitlyn, and Silco and Jinx which also turns to shit. But it leads to Jinx and Ish, and Caitlyn and Maddie. But it turns to shit...
We also have Heimedinger and Revnik, which tunrs to shit but leads to Hemi/Jace, then Echo/Heim and Jace/ Victor, then Victor and Sky. Always two sides of the coin, Jinx/Powder, Good/Evil, Zaun/Piltover. The Black Rose and whatever the white stuff victor represents is.
28:41 There were no people working together, just Viktor. The body was healed but the mind was Viktor's. They basically lost all their individuality and feelings. They are there, but without possession of their own will.
They were not afraid of Warwick, they were not afraid of Jayce. The people were acting like puppets. Is it peaceful? Yes. Were their bodies healed? Yes. But at the cost of being prisoners of Viktor's will.
It is up to each person to understand whether losing their free will but living in peace is right or wrong.
In my view, it is not a good thing.

I've got a tragic theory about why Vander/Warwick was basically spewing lava. Viktor's 'healing' converts parts of the body into metal, which is then melted by what Singed injected him with, but the damage is then repaired by Warwick's regeneration. Warwick was literally being melted out from the inside out, yet being healed at the same time, causing mind shattering agony. It didn't matter if Viktor linked him up with the hivemind, this would drive anyone insane, especially a fractured psyche like Vanders.
i remember someone said that Vander (Warwick) became feral in the end bec he was left inside with unconscious Singed which might be awake after they went out and successfully injected that orange substance that he carried.
Viktor may SEEM like right now he's helping people but those of us who have seen "helpful tech turn evil" enough times know that Jayce probably has seen what this will all lead to. The sad thing is he probably caused it to happen by attempting to kill Viktor this way, thus causing the timeloop that he may very well be stuck in. While it's nice to see Viktor as helping keep in mind he has created a hivemind that he can control at any time, so while for now he's doing good, it would be easy for this to go very, very wrong in the wrong hands. And that's probably where this is all headed.
Outside of the fact I think Jayce just caused the thing he wanted to stop, I also think he's just eternally trying to fix his own mistake, which was saving Viktor's life with the Hexcore rather than let him die. That's why he was like I won't fail. Because he did fail. I personally think Jayce may have agreed to do this for a future Viktor who saw what his power turned into so it's closing a loop, but he caused it instead.
I dont know if that was on purpose, but Viktor's Glorious Evolution line may be referenced to Nietzsche's Übermensch (superman), where the person transcends the struggles and everything else that comes (either for the bad, mostly, or for the good) with being human. That is, Viktor believes in the evolution of ourselves from this flesh as the only thing that matters as humans. Emotions, morals, everything else should be transcended.
The lesson in this episode is don't let Jinx have a friendship with children, or our hearts will be broken. Isha did not deserve this, but she went out in a blaze of glory like what Jinx would’ve done 😢💔

Viktor asked jayce in the future to kill him him the past (probably)
Jayce went to the future when in hex, he saw what it will lead to,everyone just mindless robots ,ekko and the dinger,are still stuck in that time and ekko will learn to use time powers and come back. The hex brought back Jayce at that moment because he had to kill Viktor to confirm that time line that hex rules over all,Viktor isn't dead he will come back more robot and less human and now when he turns ppls they will he robotic. Viktor first person once back will be the doctors daughter, since in game she's a robot. Jinx will try to keep isha memories alive by being the rebellion leader she always wanted her to he and she will wear start rocking the outfit we saw in trailers. They hinted at a costume change when at the prison and the guard was making fun of jinx, that she doesn't look like a rebellion leader,hence the new outfit. Vander is still alive since in game he is like wolverine with super healing factors. Isha death would have been to spark the flames in jinx to be more and let them get away at thar moment.

Hopefully, we’ll find out about at least the majority of these in Act 3.
Also, i really hope we’ll find out what it was that finally made Caitlyn go against Ambessa, while it was a pretty nice Twist, i really would like some clarification, especially considering what we’ve seen of her up until now.

They made a point of showing us that using hextech corrupts the world else where. So I'm assuming what jayce saw was a future where viktor continued using hextech and the arcane corrupted the world turning everyone into those things jayce keeps seeing . That's my guess
If warwick does somehow survive I wonder if the energy blast will cause something to snap within in either fully losing Vander or awakening him fully
Vander regressed because singed injected him with the serum when they all went outside to check on the screaming. He wasn't integrated into the hive mind fully so I don't think vikor dying would have done to him what happened to the others
