I was 8 when I first got into GI Joe, I'm 46 now.
The Joes and Cobras would be in their mid to late 60s.

I'm so disgusted with how Target is handling these releases. Hasbro really screwed up making more Target exclusive figures.
To be fair Hasbro probably penned this deal with target months or probably even a year before the line was released. So you really can’t blame Hasbro for that. They probably have a deal that they will release that line for target only and they can’t get out of it. On top of that Hasbro has no control over how many units target wants to buy. But with Covid kicking in last year and everything being made in China getting supply in general overseas was near impossible. So I can see where manufacturing would be very tough for Hasbro and getting the figures made in the numbers that would satisfy us as collectors. But then again you also have scalpers. Scalpers no matter how much product is out there are going to buy it all. We seen that with the PlayStation five. So no matter how much Hasbro pumps out of their factories and how many units target buys we still have to deal with the scalpers buying obscene amounts Of the product. Hasbro has no idea if all of them are going to one person or multiple people why would they care they’re making their money? Target doesn’t care they’re making their money.
@@normanbeaulieu4204 I blame Hasbro. Even for non-exclusive figures, I never see most of them in retail stores. Hasbro is intentionally limiting the run for all figures -in my opinion. I see at least some Star Wars figures, But GI Joe is almost nowhere.
@@brianng3414 it doesn’t make any business sense to limit their stock going out to the public. But being that this is a G.I. Joe line and a new one at that in the 6 inch scale I wouldn’t be surprised. Only because it’s an unknown market and they probably only had an order for so many the first go around. And then again stores I have to order from Hasbro what they want and what they think there market can handle. On top of having them all made overseas in the year we just had I think all three things come to ahead and adding the scalpers we have a perfect storm. Unfortunately I think the scalpers and the lackadaisical attitude and un-uniformity that target has with selling the figures to the public is going to get the public not to buy them in the first place. But ultimately it’s the scalpers we get rid of the scalpers we get rid of the problem.
@@normanbeaulieu4204 still their fault. they have their famous quote: where fans come first. lmao hasbro dont live up to that. they damn well know we cant find no exclusives and even if hasbro got the target deal before the gi joe line, they already knew exclusives were bad because of the hasbro legends team.
@@normanbeaulieu4204 the "initial exclusive" nonsense needs to end, too. and yeah, the pandemic probably is a factor her, as well as maybe that freighter losing tons of merch in that storm, but after a year, they really need to have rethought their game plans with EVERYTHING.
I can only hope they re-release these later on, so aftermarket prices will crash.

I havent even seen wave 2 yet in any of my walmarts
I haven’t seen ANY Joe’s in my Target. None. The pegs are marked but always empty, even though the app shows “in stock!” I’ve stood next to the manager and showed him my phone and asked “so where are they?” She just said “I don’t like the app either- it takes days for it to update this location.”
Same was said to me by Walmart’s manager. How is it that these HUGE corporations cannot afford capable app creators that make them work nationwide in real-time? How long does it take their ads to hit nationwide email inboxes? 2 seconds? There’s no reason every single store cannot have their availability updated in real-time, 24/7. If there’s a techie out there that can explain why it’s not possible, I’d love to learn!
@@sideswipe1261 Because it isn’t the app, someone inside the distribution center is swapping the Joe UPCs with other items.
It’s happened and been reported with multiple Targets and Walmarts and they aren’t doing shit about it.

I see pegs for the Joes in my area but they're always empty. I'm glad you're here to confirm that they really do exist.
Damm. That viper gives you a lot of options to have multiple vipers on the shelf and having them look different.
That's why I'm hoping for a main line release, to get more of an army going.

Patience is a virtue. I saw the original (Scatlett) at Walmart last year and passed on her. New one is a huge improvement, will definitely get her when she's available! Just ordered the Duke repaint and he looks better as well. Hope the Target exclusives get reissues as the rumours seem to indicate 🤞
If I ever see more than just Roadblock in a store, I might get pulled into this line. Even more likely when Alley Viper hits stores, or they do a '92 style Snow Serpent.
I fan Ally viper hits the store, exclusive or not it will be damn near impossible to find. Scalpers and greedy army builders will gobble it up like candy.

I was one of those people who dropped the line because I couldn't get the Baroness or Firefly. I had Beach Head, the Cobra Island Trooper, Gung Ho, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander and Cobra Island Roadblock, and I sold them all.
NOW flash forward to last week, I just casually went on the Target website and saw BOTH the Baroness AND Firefly available for shipping!!!! I nearly shit my pants, and I'm both happy I got them, but also irritated I feel like I need to go back and rebuy what I had 😭😭 I've since been able to pick up Major Bludd for retail, and the Cobra Island Trooper for like $5 above retail which is fine by me. But God this line truly is the definition of a love hate relationship I swear.

This is why I love fwoosh. He has all the rights to complaint yet he just straight up focus on a potential in figures rather pin pointing his personal issues with the newer figure.
I've had the issue of two of the same boot top pieces being on both legs of Marvel Legends figures waaaaaay too much, like I had that on Apocalypse wave Wolverine, 80 Years Iron Man, Crimson Dynamo wave Crossbones, and Sugar Man wave Morph, all since I started collecting in 2018.
Yeah, it sucks when it happens. Gotta think there are big bins with tons of body parts getting assembled, getting things mixed up seems common. More than I'd prefer.
I much prefer the first version of Scarlett, the brown is a little drab, also I like the freshness of the first head scan more.
I am however looking forward to the more classic colour scheme on Lady Jaye and Flint.

Where were you looking in the UK? Every online retailer that stocks Joes had them lasted about 4/5 hours fair enough but they where ready available. Indemandtoys even had some up today. Keep an eye out online and happy hunting.
I agree about Scarlett. I do like the head of the new one better, but the new paint of the armor is kinda ugly (digging the black under shirt though). If she came with some new accessories as well, like a new crossbow (not a fan of the packed in one) I might look into picking it up. But as it is I'll stick with the original and occasionally be on the lookout for the newer head.

I never started collecting this line due to original paint. Saw the repaint was extremely happy went to collect and was like will I guess not then. 😑
This is my favourite line that I'm straight up just dropping bc of the impossible nature of finding target exclusives. I've never seen any of them on any shelf in a 50 mi radius where I'm at. Its ridiculous.

I'll be honest here, I almost dropped out of this line because Target/Hasbro don't know what the hell they're doing, scalpers don't help either. And came so close selling all the Joe figure I have, but after watching this review, I'm glad I didn't. I hope this year will be better for this line! Great review Robo and Yo Joe!!!

Robo these intros are getting better and better I really enjoyed that one! I think you should do a whole video playing with figures - featuring Beef Boss - you could call it - The Weekly Beef, Beef battles, it’s really fun! That’s exactly what I do aswell but without a camera

Setting the impossibility of getting these Target figures aside, the Viper might be my favourite of the Classified figures so far
The Duke torso in those colors really reminds me of the vintage Scrap Iron figure.

I’m digging the repaints. Definitely going to pick up since I sold the first batch on eBay out of frustration.
I'm about to do the same....sell my entire wave 1 on ebay out of frustration. I stopped collecting marvel legends to focus on this line and I can't get it because of target and hasbro's stupidity.
@@yellowmartian I gave up on this line twice. I was giving it one last chance with finding something on New Years. I missed a viper by one and only saw one box at 4 different locations. Last Friday I randomly came across 2 vipers on the shelf.
Found Firefly the Sunday after you reviewed him so here's hoping the same applies for the Viper.

Your entrance scenes are dope.
Great review! That Scarlet would look a LOT better if the yellows had a brown wash with some silver dry-brush on the shin guards. That’d cut that harsh contrast. Also, if you want to fix that hand peg flex, trim the peg and fill it partially with procreate putty and reform the socket by rotating the peg in there (I DM’ed you on instagram about that method).
That is a really cool crossbow Scarlett is packing; I wish that was the one that my 80s 3.75” scale figure had included.

Closest one to me is almost 40 miles away and then the employees say they do not have any no matter what any reference site says!😳. I plan on picking up the Cobra Viper on the secondary market when the price falls.👍. Funny how the Viper is selling twice as high as Firefly!!! I have a Firefly loose and I love it! I think it is just as nice as the Viper😁👍

I picked up 2 vipers yesterday, one to open one to keep. And right away I busted the goggles trying to get it to slide over the helmet correctly

After the enormous quality in snake eyes I've felt as though that they haven't lived up to him, but after firefly and the viper trooper I may have to pick them up.
I got lucky with the first wave and found Beach Head and Roadblock at my local Target, but not so much on this one.
Not gonna lie the intro was awesome.
I have to think cobra island figures will all hit mainline eventually. Situation sucks, but if I have to, I’ll wait. Ordered loads of the cobra infantry, everything comes to he who waits.

Yeah, still not my preferred color scheme to the clothes but I like it toned down a bit.
I really liked the red dot on Snake Eye's helmet. It suited my tastes. My dad though, didn't like it. He loves the figure, but one thing makes him go "ouhw." Is they do realise one without, then I'm getting it for him.

I actually like the blue of the old one. Might have to get one after all and do some part swapping between the two of them to have the new head, and the blue upper body with the new legs/boots

Not sure if you've heard or not, but there's a running variant on the Viper. It's on the gauntlets the other gauntlets are black and smoother like the ones from the Cobra Trooper.
Still looking for that viper, it looks so good but I never found it anywhere :')

Hell yeah more lefty figures! Though I still don't understand why they don't just do vertical hinges on both wrists. Especially since almost every figure in the line only comes with gripping hands.
I like the horizontal for the weight holding hand, helps it turn in for a more natural rifle pose. But it dual pistols, vertical all the way.
@@TheFwoosh That's a really good point. I tend to focus on dual wielding and blade weapons on my figures so I guess that explains my preference there haha. Ultimately I'm just happy that vertical hinges have become in vogue, so to speak.

Viper is always a pretty figure even back in the days with 3.25 inch figures.
Am I still collecting the line if I can't it anywhere? It's wild how hard Hasbro is making it for us to give them money. Especially if they want kids to buy it! I think I've actually seen Classified stuff on the shelf twice. Viper looks so good though. Hope they become more readily available. Great review.

The blaster seems similar to the Nerf Longshot, with the detachable front barrel/blaster, but it's heavily modified.
Good ideal making an army builder a store exclusive. Especially when they can't keep 1, or 2 on the shelf. Actually not sure I have seen any Classifieds in person.
Two years of fighting my urge to buy this line and I finally caved. I’ve been able to get nearly all the figures except for this bad boi. I remember the horror stories, and then I remember it was rereleased and I saw it available on Pulse. Why didn’t I get it then!?!?! I’m dumb.
Honestly Robo, with how much you're enjoying this line I'd love to see you do some kind of list/ranking in the near future.
I'd like to do that but may wait for there to be more figures in the line. Or at least more range of figures.

I really hope Viper gets a mainline entry soon figure looks amazing and idc if they remove the goggles like they did for infantry.
As someone who never watched any GIJoe i liked all the metallic bits, from what I’ve seen Joes always had some preposterous tech so this just looks like a modern take. If they made 6” classic figures I’d agree with the critics but I think they should stick with this unique style and hopefully they also make 100% accurate classic 6” figures too makes the most sense to have both extremes and not something in between that doesn’t satisfy either side.
After all that efforts of getting the impossible to find Cobra Viper, you got the one with two left legs. You should call it the Two-left-legged Viper trooper 😅

I know that the action figures are cool, but in the past (30 years ago or more) what I liked most was the vehicles, so much so that until today I have my collection known here in Brazil as Comandos em Ação. Will they launch a vehicle?
