I blind bought Rosendo Mateu No. 5 as my second full bottle purchase. First impression is it had a harsh inky/chemically smell (thankfully did not get the burned tire note everyone talks about). After my third wear, I’m in love! I don’t get the ink anymore and it’s truly a saffron bomb, with vanilla and hard to distinguish florals. Wish I got the leather note.
Love YSL Libre Intense and want to checkout Libre Le Parfum due to the more amplified saffron.

Atelier Cologne's Santal Carmin is full of saffron❤ and Matiere Premiere's Crystal Saffron is a bomb, I mix this one with sweeter fragrances though. I also own CH Saffron Lazuli🎉 Oud for Greatness a musttt. Blue Heart smells like coconut detergent to me😅
I liked Santal Carmin but Crystal Saffron was a huge miss for me unfortunately 🙈 Yeah Blue Heart is an interesting one, people get very different things from it!

Great video, Anne. Great list. I luv Rosendo Mateu No. 5. I have two other saffron forward fragrances. Carolina Herrera Saffron Lazuli. It's from her exclusive Confidential collection. It is down the middle unisex and very beautiful. The second one is Nishane Safran Colognise. This one leans masculine. It is very unique and very appealing. They are very different from each other and both worth getting your nose on.

Hi Anne, are any of these similar to Mixologie Bare Seductive Saffron do you know? Love that one but looking for something stronger with more sillage/longevity. It’s a sweeter saffron (but not cloying). I find BR-540 nice but quite enough sweetness.

Not relevant to the saffron note, but I recently got a sample of Rosendo Mateu No. 3 and wow, what great performance, projection and overall fragrance. The dry down is lovely! I was really impressed with the brand, so I'm super curious about No. 5.

For some reas9n the cherry ambition didn't work out for me. The artificial scent gave me a migraine everytime I used it. Wanted to love it but it's a no for me.

Ambrosia Imperiale is definitely amazing but try her new fragrance. Amorous Intense. 🤤🥰 It’s SOOOOO GOOD. She was so right about the apple sauce accord.

For some reason, saffron always smells leathery for me but I often do love it! I sadly don’t get any of the airy sweetness that other people do from BR540. Have you ever smelled Tempfluo from Nishane? It’s a little odd but I really adore it…
It can definitely pull that way in certain blends! I haven't tried Tempfluo because of the orange blossom note 🙈

Question - cherry ambition or cherry punk? I am trying to decide between them
Depends on your taste! If you like a leather note and something darker, edgier, more unisex, go with Cherry Punk, but if you go with Cherry Punk, I’d recommend the new Extrait, it smells smoother to me

Have not been able to sample cherry ambition (which is why I can’t compare them) but I love the brand and what they stand for. My Sephora does not have them to test yet. Was thinking of blind buying during their sale which makes the price unbeatable. But now you have me wondering about the new extrait 😅

Yeah Rosendo Mateau #5 makes my eyes roll back when I smell it on me looolllll. On my skin it does come odd more airy and sweet then from the nozzle

Saffron notes in fragrances all smell so synthetically sweet, like if aspartame was a fragrance note. It ruins every fragrance imo.

Personally, I love the note of Saffron. (Br540 blends sooo good with Aventus 🫣) Nefs is one of my absolute favorite frags AT! Thumbs up on the video for that Roman empire reference😅😊
