- What's up guys and gals.. In this video i explain the different sides of running rails and what you can expect from running intermodal yards.. The hustle and bustle of this business can be extreme! Thanks and Peace
Great video TnL! You gotta clap back on these rail yards. No mercy
Lol 💯
You got to check the equipment when you are still in the yard. If it's damaged don't take it, get one that is roadable. I take pictures of damage and wear while still in the yard.
These ocean ports getting crazy with these appointment times on my side. Damn near have to make one a whole day before or you’re SOL…
Bruh you hit the nail on the head when it comes to a rail yards, everyday is a different day and it’s a dog eat dog world once you enter a rail yard because everybody’s hungry and in a hurry, except for the bigger trucking companies that use rail for some of their freight.
For sho broski
In NJ the chassis shortage was made worse by people keeping their chassis for months rather than returning them after a few moves.
Amazon got a patent for making intermodal boxes automatically kick off of moving trains to use drones to do last 7 mile deliveries. Hasn't come close to real yet, but that will change things.
Bruh I work for hub we switched from vans to containers on a dedicated account. Why 2 people on workman's comp already😂😂😂 they not gon make it in the winter.
Lol
Facts lol
If you've got enough work you can focus on going to the yards that have the stuff together. Some are terrible and some are great. If you can work it that way stay away from the terrible ones because they will eat your day like it's nothing. And I'm not talking about them being "nice" to you ... they just have good equipment in the place for good equipment, and they know where the equipment that has to move today is rather than spending an hour wondering.
Intermodal is my day to day ... going on 30 years. It used to be SOOOO much better.
The worst is when a yard is backed up and you get hassled by terminal/port cops for not being in the exact right place.
This BUSINESS is WILD at times big bro!
wheres my container? its showing its in the stack.... LOLOLOLOL
Exactly 💯
The realist I heard about intermodal thus far. Started my journey at schneider, moved to jb after my six months. Switched to nfi about two years ago. I went from being the brat to digging and scrapping for boxes chassis, lights... all types of ish and sitting.... smh.. Pick your poison with this intermodal stuff
💯

Did intermodal for year it’s more prison yard rules than navy seal. BNSF goat driver stomp yard and complain with tribal mentality
Intermodal sucks like most everything else trucking. Heavy haul are the road kings.
