I am a bit confused with your meter connection, it appears you connected it across the battery which is okay for measuring voltage, the amp meter should be connected in series rather.
I have a 2013 CLS Mercedes Benz whenever I park it in sport mode the suspension drop but it only happens sometimes it will go for days and then suddenly it drops could that be a leak or a malfunction sensor but in comfort it doesn't drop only in sport mode
My 09 ML350 was at the dealership for 30 days getting a rear SAM. Battery was new under 6 months old. After left shop slow crank after overnight. Now needs a jump to crank. I think they should reprogram the REAR SAM

Hi. I am having issues with a clk w209. It started with intermittent stalling and ecu recovery within 1-2 seconds.....then I went abroad for 4weeks. Came home....it started ok...drove it 10miles then all hell broke loose...really bad stuttering with esp workshop warning and tps failure...would role to a stop and it would start with the key (after 3 or attempts...) it went the 10 miles home stuttering 3 or 4 times on the way...parked it up...charged battery....from there it would sometimes partially crank then die and fan would be on full pelt. No ecu/pcm coms. It occasionally started with battery at full charge and ecu spoke....it did come back with terminal 51 not good and and I would have to battle it cutting out with keeping revs high (no limp mode issue) now it just wont start...not even crank. Esp not available, tps not available, engine overheating switch off now (engine is off) if I charge the battery it is drained within 15 attempts at crank...the cabin light dims when I try to crank...but no ecu coms even in just 2nd ignition position (no crank) auto box stuck in park. Just recently I tried it...red display...battery picture in display....then display malfunction...sometimes with engine picture, sometimes a lightning strike. Is my battery bad? Engine checklight comes on in display so I pressume the ecu is alive? Also all other modules will communicate...just not ecu......any ideas?
it looks like your engine ECU module is not "authorizating" engine crank. Is your engine ECU seating on top of engine itself?? Try to isolate exactly the bad module by analysing what your CAN modules have to say. Most Benz module replacement require dealer to code them to your car so 2 to $3K regardless of what troubleshooting you did already 😅 At least this will give you a chance to get your car fixed at once instead of paying $500 to hear: "sorry, we don't have room in the shop" Some internet shops can refurb your very own module... so no coding needed ie. cheapest & fastest ! ✌️
I have W204 - C350 battery draining issue. I followed your method and could see that drain in close to 200 mA. I tried pulling fuses (from all three fuse boxes) one by one but did not find circuit which is drawing excessive current. Subsequently I tried jump starting the car and nothing happens. No clicking from Starter. Before the test it would start without problem with a jump. What could be wrong? I checked all fuses related to Starter circuit and they are all OK. Got a question: I had an issue where my alternator died and I replaced both the alternator and battery with new ones. Once replaced, the ecu failed to detect the new alternator therefore the car was only getting power from the brand new battery I installed until the power drained. What I observed was that the engine ran a lot differently, it ran like a race car solely on power from the fully charged new battery without a functioning alternator. Acceleration seemed to be ten times more powerful than when I had a working alternator and the old battery. When I got the ecu/alternator issue resolved the car reverted to running the way it did before, which was sluggish from a standstill. Does this indicate that the engine isn't getting the ideal amount of power from the battery/ alternator on a regular basis due to a drain issue? My car is regularly sluggish without any codes. I'm becoming more and more convinced the engine isn't receiving the correct amount of juice for optimum performance...
Be twin the altenater en the batery is electronic pack wich is connected with a negative cable the pins on this pack are very defective that pack controls all electricy in the car
very confusing in connecting the negative, black alligator clip. It seems like to connected it to the battery, the battery cable, then connect the meter itself to the battery cable. Very much unclear.
I think my battery drainage problem is my radio because it’s always on when I turn the car on. Please note that I shut the radio off when I turned the cat off at night time. Which fuse disconnects the radio as I try to find where the drainage is coming from?
Could I just check the voltage on the battery and then compare that to the voltage some time later? So if it dropped from 12.6 to 12 I would see I had a problem?
Kinda, but that's not a big enough drop in voltage. How old is the battery, what's the voltage coming from the alternator? Does the vehicle have any after market electronics installed?

The mfg replaced it for free so I now have a new AGM battery. It has maintained 12.6V since I installed it a few days ago. But just wondering why the previous $200 battery had such a short life.

Sometimes you just get a bad battery. And the car had been in the repair shop a few weeks before. Sometimes the technicians do things they don't tell you about.

He by passed all circuits in the vehicle by connecting the positive to the DVM. The DVM should be between the negative battery post and the battery post connector to measure the parasitic current draw.

I have ml 550, battery and alternator just changed. But battery keeps drainimg every night. First it doesnt ignite, then screen slowly dissappears. Just bot a used 2004 e500 from a tow yard car fiers right up after replacing new battery in trunk .had srs esp an a red break malfunction .reducing breaks .had no break presure at all .changed the break light switch an after turning off an on it had breaks for about 10 minn an then it just works an then dont work today it had red battery light an said altinator /battary i reved it turnd off an on bunch of times it went away then out of no where all the erors went away an evry thing worked an then they all came back an no breaks after 5 minn idk im stumped could a minor low voltage couse this
Check the voltage coming of the alternator, check the serpentine belt. And as mentioned already, check your ground connections, terminals can be corroded on the inside connection point. Clean every thing.
My 2007 ml350 the battery always gets drained even when pack at night..I come back in the morning to see the battery drained.. I have changed new battery and it's still happening..
@@sinaneralp4786 yes I did..it was the light on the right door that was onlways one ..I couldn't see it but at late night when u turn car off,the light still remain on, that was when I discovered it.. Check the buttons doors or monitor the dashboard light when u turn off and pack your car
Took my car for inspection 4 days ago and my car was fine and pass the inspection. But got home the car battery was flashing so I called them up they said to bring it back I brought back the guy says there's nothing wrong with my battery and it's fully charged and it looks like they have to dona full diagnosis that will cost $200 so after I paid them 200 to for inspection and to fix what ever faltt they found now my car has a problem I never had before and they want to charge me for it. They got the wrong one I aint going back.

Do not hook up your multi meter like this lol the ammeter must be connected in series. Disconnect NEGATIVE terminal and put one clip on terminal and other on NEGATIVE post. Use negative post and terminal to avoid shorting cuz negative is to ground.

I think your circuit setup is incorrect. The meter should be in series with the circuit. Did I miss something?

Why disconnect the battery negative when you reconnected with the alligator clips still is the same circuit. Don’t you think ?

Couldn't figure out the negative lead. From voltmeter to ground cable and then from ground cable to battery's negative terminal?

Don't leave and buttons pushed in... I pushed in my dome light button that keeps lights lights off when doors are open thinking it would save lights but in reality it's "talking to car 24/7 even when car off
Tried my 2 seat modules and gave up. Time to throw my e320 in the garbage
Also don't pull fuses. Instead measure voltage drop across the fuses. Otherwise you might wake up the vehicle.
